    Hi
    This car came to me with the airbag light on.
    A quick scan, revealed the error 93C2, which is related to the passenger seat occupancy sensor...
    Owner did not really wanted to replace the faulty sensor mat, and they are expensive, so I offered him a different solution, which obviously would leave the airbags system fully operational!
    Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.
    Hope you enjoy the video.
    Any questions or comments put them below.

    I am not a saint but I will never risk my business for a 300 Euro part . I am not against that what you did but in my case , even if the client signs a contract that he orders me to bypass airbag components , it is against the law . Signed documents or not . I have witnessed a very dirty play which I am not going to write down but in the end the liability insurance paid X amount of Euro´s and the garage lost it´s license . I do understand your repair will work but in my case , no flash , rewrite or tampering .

      Totally agree...
      And to be fair, even this morning before I release the video, I was wondering about it...
      I have strict much more since this was recorded... And I am no longer doing anything like this... as you said, new part whatever it costs...
      I know however, if I haven't done it, someone else would... and from what I have seen, good knows what would be done... at least I know the airbags will still deploy...
      but I guess that it would be on their shoulders not mine... lol

      @@LMAutoRepairs Yah I wouldn't mind unless someone did like my brother's mechanic did he just cut the side driver seat bag and said it will turn the light off instead of actually replacing the driver occupation sencor and charged him 200 for it even though on Peugeot it's the connectors or modules that fail

    • @SevSevy258
      @SevSevy258 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Actually you are not causing any safety hazard by doing this. All that changes is that the passenger airbag will deploy no matter if someone is sitting in the front passenger seat or not.

    How I repaired this fault.
    Bought contact spray (for electrical and electronic connections), then took the seats out and cleaned the both connectors from the car and from the seat.
    Just take all the pins out, one by one, and spray them with contact spray, then brush it well and wipe it them with a towel.
    I had to drive 5 minutes then stop, then start again the car after 10 minutes, to see the fault gone.
    Hope this helps anyone !!

    Hi there I have the same problem. I’ve got the mat out and doing the same as you have. I’m just confused on your diagram and the resistors to use. I've got 2 k resistors and 1 k resistors so am I just best to use all 2K can you explain more on the diagram it looks like they all join in together with resistors which confuses me

  • @resistanceisfutile
    @resistanceisfutile ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In the video, it isn't entirely clear where the resistors are connected. I tried googling but the only diagrams I found were for E46 and older, which use a different type of seat sensor. Could you provide either a link or a wiring diagram showing the resistor layout relative to signal, power, and ground?

    In some cars like vw you have key to disable passenger airbag when you have kid in "special backward seat"
    the front seat. How abaut seat occupancy sensor in bmw? its not for same reason? If this the case its not very good to disable this system

    I like your approach, i also prefer to avoid emulator, if it is possible. But it is important to tell the customer to always use seatbelt on the passenger side after this mod. Airbag will now deploy also if seatbelt is not inserted, and this could be fatal even in a low speed crash

If you can not buy a part for your car, you can not afford it. Buy a clio or something you can mantain. Thank you for the video Luis. This "repair" is definitly cheeper then buying an emulator. 👍
