cnet.co/UEw7pd It's Apple vs. Android once again, but which one will win CNET's heart? Apple's popular iPad, or Samsung's best tablet yet, the Galaxy Note 10.1?
Thank you Cnet for recommending me the iPad! Now I can do nothing but surf the web, check email, and play games while the other dude with the Note 10.1 programs an app on the device, customizes the UI, edits the ROM, revamps the function of the sensors, and writes a 3-page essay! Yay! (I'm not ever going to trust Cnet again)
I work with my equipment, I do boring stuff like writing documents, editing, doing spreadsheets building presentations. Besides being an overgrown toy what usefulness do I get with any of these Tablets ?? I need to WORK with this so where are the "real" apps ?
By the way CNet the note 10.1 does support flash bad it's optional to install the adobe flash by going to the adobe web site for the archives for flash mobile device
Can someone please help me ? im looking to buy the samsung galaxy note 10.1 or the ipad. but i cant decide. ive had both android and apple. both r great. i just want to watch movies, web brows, and play games. and not get bored of the tablet at the same time. so if someone can tell me which is better and nice looking to have. ill love you long time ;)
My issue with Chrome are problems with smoothness and is actually slow at rendering (I sideloaded the old Browser using adb). The video has a 30 fps frame rate, but the animation (if you count the frames) are running at less than 30 fps (there are less animation frames than video frames). I'm not an iSheep clearly, I just like good products, regardless of who makes them.
What about the price?! What about the Windows-compatibility? I have the Note7 2.generation, 72gb of memory, 289$ compared to iPad Mini 329$ 16gb. Same resolution and so on....
i was happy when i got my galaxy tab 10.1 last year but seem how in a year and a few monthsni barely got twomupdatesnit pisses me off im never getting another android device.
How do you know the frame rate of the animations? This isn't a sarcastic statement I really want to know. Actually, I didn't buy one. I own nexus 7, but I have used one. I just hate when people state lies about android like lag without actually TRYING the product. Do you live in a place that google play doesn't support? If not your argument is invalid. Most people that debate about android and ios on youtube live in places that google play supports.
A little around 50 USD for a class 10 (for the fastest data transfers); and 30 USD for regular speed. SanDisk Class 10 MicroSDHC cards, at least, have a lifespan of 500 insert-eject cycles, and a lifetime warranty if you keep the original packaging and receipt; so you can use it until you misplace it. Compare that to the $150 more you get charged per iDevice for a 64GB model.
The second you awarded the ipad3 for interface is when I simply closed this video. It's also the last video I'll be seing by CNET. Might as well be watching commercials willingly.
I actually went to Sam's and and pressed very hard a Galaxy Note and it felt perfectly fine. Why does every tech geek point out the plastic case of Samsung when some plastics can be more costly and resistant than metals?
They praised the iPad for its screen yet they never mentioned that ugly letter boxing you get while watching movies, while the galaxy note's screen shows nemo on almost the entire screen.
there are heaps of apps on the ipad that play mkv divx xvid & the rest of it even run the subtitle tracks (Oplayer), the new iPad has the pixels to actually view HD video & look amazing. PS samsung galaxy note uses a 30 pin dock connector, so you need a 30 pin to usb converter. spend some time & look into it, you will be surprised.
No, the Note 2 doesn't have many of the 'tablet friendly' features, gestures, or UI elements the Note 10.1 has. Yes I understand that the Note 2 is supposed to be a tablet/phone hybrid, but it is designed to be more of a smartphone with the advantage of the bigger screen size and the S-Pen for note taking. The Note 10.1 is a full on tablet and if you ever look at both devices you can tell they are running different versions of the OS.
The ipad cannot play videos fullscreen, they will always have those two black bars on the top and bottom (fact), note no problems, and note can play any video format without conversion, i saved all my movies on a 64 gb usb flashdrive, all i do is connect it to the note and i can watch them, my internal mem and sd card mem can be saved for other stuff.
Im taking online graduate courses on my Samsung, my son's school district provided iPads for school work. The iPad ends up being a glorified web browser. The multitasking ability and stylus make a big, big difference.
The problem with Cnet is this, most of these so called "tech experts" are not using their gadgets long enough to even qualify to give a review. They can't wait to get a hold of the new ones and once they do, they think they're the real experts with it comes to that particular gadgets.
Umm yea add real time multi tasking (so u dont have to stare at the screen when uploading/updating/dloading something), usb support, floating apps, split screen, extremely accurate face recognition, flash support for any website, bluetooth pairing with any device, now butter smooth jellybean os which can run multiple widgets, background apps and live wallpaper together without any lag, i could go on but ur probably satisfied staring at the rows and rows of smooth scrolling apps on the ipad.
I don't think this video review was meant to be taken seriously. Even in the very first round, they were talking about the strengths of the Note 10.1 and the way that Apple went backwards in design, yet still gave the round to the iPad. I think that anyone who owns both, as I do, can honestly tell you that the iPad can't touch the Note 10.1. They're not even in the same league.
Ha! A lighter, thinner tablet with a quadcore processor, an active digitizer, multiscreen functionality and 2 front facing speakers that produce exceptional sound, not to mention a microSD card slot.. yet the Galaxy Note 10.1 loses the battle!? A couple of days ago I showed mine to a friend, he brought his iPad 3 out for comparison, and it took all of three minutes before he was holding his head in despair and asking himself why the hell he bought an iPad. That's the real story of this battle!
You do know you don't NEED a computer at ALL to use ANY idevice right? All you need is a wifi connection and your set at getting ANY idevice started and no need for a computer or itunes so whats your point?
If you stop every app except the one you are currently using on the Note there is no delay. It usually gets the delay when other apps are updating in the background and updating the real time information. The iPad stops apps when you press the home button. It doesn't have real multitasking. Giving the Note, in most peoples opinion......the advantage.
Now I must say, I am an Apple enthusiast, I have apple computers and Iphone etc. But I got the note, same price as the ipad with 3g but the note can make calls and sms and also has the s pen and multi screen. The tradeoff in screen resolution is worth it
Well I'll tell you what, I had the iPad and sold it after about 4 months to get the Note 10.1 and man the difference is night and day. The ipad was my 1st Apple product and it will be the last.
well, that's one of android problem, putting things to make the "phone" or "tablet" looks better, but making the system everytime more heavy and you can see on the video, when it change from one screen to another screen that is more slow, but I really think is great the pencil... It looks very useful.
iPad's "better" screen doesn't matter, it just makes most apps look weird because of the 4:3 aspect ratio and movies are 50% black bars anyway, so what's the point?
Thank you Cnet for recommending me the iPad! Now I can do nothing but surf the web, check email, and play games while the other dude with the Note 10.1 programs an app on the device, customizes the UI, edits the ROM, revamps the function of the sensors, and writes a 3-page essay!
Yay! (I'm not ever going to trust Cnet again)

Hello. I'm planning to buy a tablet. Which one should I go for, ipad or galaxy note 10.1? Which one is better? Help.me.
What about the iPad 4????
Why don't you guys do a prize fight with the Asus Infinity vs the 3rd Gen. iPad
whats better for watching movies and playing games?
so what do you predict from american tv channel to talk about apple vs samsung
Where is the S3 Vs Iphone5 pricefight ??????
Ok i don't know much about the one with LTE. Were talking about the one in the video.
that is so true, i got one mainly because i have a galaxy phone and it maches plus i wanted to customise it how i want and the drawing s pen feature.
I work with my equipment, I do boring stuff like writing documents, editing, doing spreadsheets building presentations. Besides being an overgrown toy what usefulness do I get with any of these Tablets ?? I need to WORK with this so where are the "real" apps ?
CNET forgot to mention the front facing speakers
Why?
why?
Well on the iPad, I can listen to music, download an App, browse the Web, and upload a video to TH-cam, ALL at the same time! :D
I'm trying to decide which one to get, and this video did not help in any way.
come on, guys.. its juz a personal preference on which os u use or like...
September-October something like that yeah.
By the way CNet the note 10.1 does support flash bad it's optional to install the adobe flash by going to the adobe web site for the archives for flash mobile device
NOTE doesn't support flash?? wtf
you do realize the lumia 920 and S3 are 199 on contract? and old iphone's in great condition have a high resale value?
Can someone please help me ? im looking to buy the samsung galaxy note 10.1 or the ipad. but i cant decide. ive had both android and apple. both r great. i just want to watch movies, web brows, and play games. and not get bored of the tablet at the same time. so if someone can tell me which is better and nice looking to have. ill love you long time ;)
why not call your channel C|apple insted of c|net?
Y are u guys teaming up with apple instead of android??
:-(

I can't believe this review was made by CNET.
you are the most polite man that I've ever seen in youtube..
Are you working at apple?
But there's no flash on the ipad so can't take a picture in the dark
They forgot to mention the stereo sound speakers
no, the movie for the samsung was nemo which is not widescreen and the ipad movie was x men first class which is a newer movie and was widescreen
Most people that debate about android and ios on youtube live in places that google play supports.
ok so wich one would you want that piece of plastic that samstinks sells with that pen or da ipaddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
Yeah. When I was sick and didn't have a headset, I used my note as my computer. Can't do that with an iPad.
A little around 50 USD for a class 10 (for the fastest data transfers); and 30 USD for regular speed. Compare that to the $150 more you get charged per iDevice for a 64GB model.
its changed you've probably just haven't used it long enough to notice maybe?
They forgot price and the multitasking and innovative s pen should have given it more of an advantage in that round.
Are you telling us that you use an iPad as a GPS??? Next time we will hearing that you now use a PC so you can't get lost again.
The second you awarded the ipad3 for interface is when I simply closed this video. It's also the last video I'll be seing by CNET. Might as well be watching commercials willingly.
Remeber: It's not just Brian who judge !
A Fandroid sales man sold my mate galaxy tab and when he had a got with my iPad, within a min he knew what he was missing!!
I actually went to Sam's and and pressed very hard a Galaxy Note and it felt perfectly fine. Why does every tech geek point out the plastic case of Samsung when some plastics can be more costly and resistant than metals?
This video is not fair, CNET is the best channel to make me more nervous ! ! !
They praised the iPad for its screen yet they never mentioned that ugly letter boxing you get while watching movies, while the galaxy note's screen shows nemo on almost the entire screen.
How do you compare a Quad Core Processor with a Dual core and you say the specs dnt matter BIASED Review
there are heaps of apps on the ipad that play mkv divx xvid & the rest of it even run the subtitle tracks (Oplayer), the new iPad has the pixels to actually view HD video & look amazing.

and also the A6 chip for the iphone 5

If the note had some decent sketching apps and photo editing apps I would be all over it. I want that stylus for sketching
how much did apple pay you?
Ipad "that grandma and the kids can use" lol
Im taking online graduate courses on my Samsung, my son's school district provided iPads for school work. The iPad ends up being a glorified web browser. The multitasking ability and stylus make a big, big difference.

Now I know why I abandoned Cnet along time ago
So no lag, better apps, better screen, better looking, better materials used (glass and aluminum vs plastic and glass), makes them a fanboy?
Really? You haven't even looked at me, so how can you tell?
I wish note 10.1 will be beefed up and have a better resolution on another iteration
i'm so Fatigue at Apple's Devices. It was just like the Price is only changing.
me too
You do know you don't NEED a computer at ALL to use ANY idevice right? All you need is a wifi connection and your set at getting ANY idevice started and no need for a computer or itunes so whats your point?
Amen!
right from the begging you could tell they were going to put i pad first.... hard to tell what they own at home
I can see who has won by seeing the like/dislike ratio

Give us a iPhone 5 vs galaxy note 2
i still love note 10.1 wich is the one im gonna buy
@yel75 lag? heck no

iPad still sets the standard and when windows 8 and the Microsoft Surface comes out the iPad 4 will blow your mind
Prize fight judges should judge the devices without knowing who the "opponent" is, that way, biased score cant be given out.
iPad's "better" screen doesn't matter, it just makes most apps look weird because of the 4:3 aspect ratio and movies are 50% black bars anyway, so what's the point?
People you need to understand there are 3 judges and it is based on a average consumer not us Tech Lovers
I've had the note 10.1 for over a week now and loving it very much. cnet failed to mention that the note's technology advancement beats iPad anytime.
Also the best tablets are the Asus Transformer Infinity, Nexus 7 and SGN 10.1
c'mon man, thats NOT the way to decide wich pad that best
Shows that maturity of a typical Android fan then, doesn't it?
