Heartstopper Season 2 episode 3 Promise - Today i'm reacting to the ever developing story of Nick and Charlie in Heartstopper this episode shows us Tao asking Ellle out on their first date with awkward vibes throughout. We also see the struggles of Nick coming out as bisexual to his fellow rugby friends , showing the real difficulties bisexuals face .

My favourite part of this episode is how protecting Nick brought out the "mama bear" in Charlie, and later when he told Nick he'd "fight them".
Very cute moment and quite a massive growth in Charlie's character
I don't blame you for tearing up at the Coach Singh conversation -- the way Nick looks at her and her photo after she tells him with such gratitude and awe and vulnerability, recognizing a safe space and being seen and having a mentor, i just !!!!!
I think its such a beautiful moment , you can see the relief in nicks face
Season 2 had so many brilliant moments but the ‘Good Mates’ bit followed by Sai and Otis reacting was hilarious 😂

I just noticed something watching this back, when Nick and Charlie (Kit and Joe) are on the bed speaking to each other, the tone of their voices is so different. The pitch is much lower and we hear a different softer style to their accents which I really love.
I love the introduction of James as a character because he’s so precious ❤

Preach! I have heard almost all of the things Nick was having a pannic attack about to my face too. Sometimes it still makes me question myself and it hurts. And I've been out for over 12 years now.
Its can really suck makes you feel less the human when someone does it

This has got to be the most beautiful show, ever. Thank you so much for your lovely and thoughtful reactions.
I have never come out to most of my family members except for my sisters and two of my cousins, and I'm okay with that. And yet I am 100% out at work, at my now former university, and with my friends as both bi+ and trans/non-binary. Coming out is more difficult when you have more to lose, but very freeing when it is safe to do so. This season of Heartstopper really captures that feeling of feeling like you need to either hide your identity or come out, both of which are doing battle for supremacy, when the reality is that you usually come out to some people but not everyone, and you do it in stages. Sometimes very long stages. I love this show SO much in how it portrays such common queer and specifically bi+ experiences so well. And it doesn't hurt that these kids are absolutely phenomenal actors!!!
It's done incredibly well, showing a lot of respect to the emotional journey of what is coming out is

I think Tori is hypersensitive and that's probably one of the reasons she is such a loner and gets so defensive like she is afraid of getting close to anyone because she might get hurt. I haven't read any of the books so that's just a theory. You can also tell she really cares deeply about her brother but she is really anxious and scared about what might happen to him and the actress portrays that really well.
Also, this is not related at all but as a French person I loved your accent while speaking french, it was really cute 😊

Thanks for understanding us having wet eyes over this episode. The coach was so wonderful with her compassion. I can understand Nick's panic attack at the party in the woods, it was just overwhelming for him. Tao is such a sweet mess. When Charlie tells Nick to come out on his own timeline is one of the sweetest moments. I completely understand the Engineering reference. My whole family is Engineers and they are somewhat conservative, but they have always been supportive. Both brothers Engineers, a niece, and many cousins who are Engineers. Thanks again for a meaningful analysis. 🥰

Possible hot take, but the cinema can actually be a great date provided both people like films and (for example) have some dinner later. It gives you a lot to talk about with a subject you both like and are familiar with.
True to be honest, my first date with april was at the cinema but we went for coffee after. If the date ends after the cinema, you kinda lose that interaction.

Didn't think a reaction would cause me to cry, yet here we are - hearing you've suffered from those awful experiences/memories breaks my heart. One of my best friends is bi, and while she thinks some of her other friends "accept" her, they also say in the same conversation that they would never date a bi person because they "can't trust them" (they don't deserve her, clearly). I hope you now have a strong support system of family and friends.

I really love Nick and Charlies relationship, how they are so understanding and supportive of each other. And I really felt for Nick because I have been there. I only came out as Bi about 5 years ago to a few close friends and family but I still feel now at 30 I can't tell certain people, and I have homophobic people in my family so that doesn't help.

We get so much more backstory/insight into tao this season. Based on the way his mom talks about his father it's clear to see that his intense passion for romantic films comes from knowing how deeply his parents loved each other and the HIGH value his mother places on romantic love.
He definitely has built up romance to be the end all-be all of human existence and that.. is a very dangerous place to be.
On top of the fact that he is just a very emotional person in general. Oof.

I think is had the oa ic attack partly because he is putting pressure on himself to come out. Like he said, he promised to come out on their date at the beach, but he never actually make that promise. He told Charlie he's ready to come out, which only means he is comfortable enough to come out. He has already started coming, but it's still a process where he needs to be comfortable enough to come out to his friends. Between that and his own fears of what people might think about him being bisexual are likely major issues that contributed to the panic attack.

there's more action in this season and I have thoroughly enjoyed the scenes so far and all the ones so willing to not make a big deal about sexuality and whom you love and have taken an interest into.. including the teachers..just wow
My favorite scene of this episode is the in bed scene at the end. And it’s something we can all relate to. I myself never told my parents about my sexuality because my dad’s homophobic and my mom is just as bad as he is. The only person in my family I came out was my sister during my freshman year of college. She was understanding and accepting, but she never was around when I’m hiding myself around my parents. I still don’t feel comfortable coming out to them. I was wondering if it’d be okay with you if I messaged you more about it sometime. I’m sorry that you’re dealing with a homophobic workspace, I had to deal with a lot of homophobic pricks in a lot of fandoms.
Side not: I wasn’t like that either when I finished my SATS.
I think also people think 'coming out' is just one big event. It's a constant ongoing thing. That's what I think this season did a great thing in highlighting the journey. Coz it really is ongoing. I only wish Charlie had said that to Nick too, to reassure Nick that he has already come out to important people in his life and that it's a process and not to rush it. It's actually kind of annoying that every time there is someone new in your life that you have to come out to yet another person. I thoroughly enjoyed this season though and can not wait for Season 3!
Damn it, this premiers when I will be in surgery tomorrow! Sigh...well at least I know what I will be watching when I wake up from anesthesia. (Before anyone asks, I am having half my Thyroid removed.)
What times your surgery I could alter it to be earlier
@@Courtney-Jai My surgery is scheduled to begin at 1pm Central, but I will be in pre-op starting at 11:30 am, LOL. I'll be looking forward to watching the video during my overnight stay at the hospital, since they are going to keep me over night for observation afterwards, in case of complications.

Tao's hair is like a bit out of shape because when Elle was getting suspended because of her hair length, he grew it out to support her. Later on he started curling the bottoms so he wouldn't get suspended for the hair length

I'm sorry you have had negative reactions and comments. I sadly think that it is 💯 about their insecurities. This idea that if your partner is also attracted to the opposite gender to you then you will never be enough because you can't be both. Stupid and ignorant, but I guess fears and prejudices are rarely based on much else.

This season really does pull at the heartstrings. No spoilers but France* is such a good episode. I'm just like you when it comes to the feels and welling up, it's like while watching, I'm truly there in the moment or scene. I wouldn't have it any other way though. Friends tease that I'm this giant of a man, with a heart of mush 🥰but I have no shame in my game! I hope you Have a wonderful week, especially at work, grrr...I instantly felt protective, I don't like bullies.
