My favourite moment in this episode is the discussion of consent that Nick and Charlie have in the hotel room. Charlie double checks with Nick that he is ok with what they are doing and notices that when he says 'yeah', he's actually unsure. And he stops! Then he goes on to be vulnerable (even though it's awkward) and talks about what he is expecting about them getting physical in their relationship. What he says is so clear and they are able to have a laugh, but even though they've stopped being physical, they have grown even more intimate with each other from this exchange involving trust and taking care of each other. Such a healthy aspect of their relationship. Then I also love them staying up to talk all night and falling asleep with each other. Memories of the beginnings of a relationship when you make that connection and can talk for hours and learn more about each other, come to mind. Just perfect.
I think this also shows the major difference between nick and Charlie and Charlie and Ben. Everthying in that relationship wasn't Charlie's choice and Charlie never wants nick to feel the eay he did.

I love this episode because of all the intimate moments we get between Charlie and Nick and I'm not talking about the long horny kissing but the little details that show that they're in a more advanced stage of their relationship, they're starting to act like a "real" couple. Like with the mirror scene, the kiss on the cheek or them sleep together in all kinds of positions, these moments always melt my heart 🥰

I feel for Isaac so much in this episode, that feeling of "someone explicitly likes me in a way that i don't feel for them, maybe for anybody, and i don't want to hurt them by rejecting them, but i desperately need to reject them" is a rough one to come to terms with. It might not be universal for aroace spec folks, but it for sure happened at the start of my journey
Honestly I never saw Farouk as anything but a softy. Sure he wasn’t going to be a pushover, but once a student was having a problem he was worried more for their well-being than in being punitive.

As someone who realised they were asexual by watching your 'realising you were bi' video on Heartstopper (thanks for that btw) let me explain xD Asexual is an umbrella term that means you experience little to no sexual attraction. The 'little' tends to refer to people on the spectrum, such as are greysexual or demisexual (only experiences sexual attraction once a deep emotional connection is developed), whereas the no sexual attraction refers to people who use asexual as an identity, such as myself. However there is still a lot of variety amongst people who do not experience sexual attraction. For example some asexuals can enjoy having sex without the attraction being there, some feel indifferent about it and others feel averse, or repulsed to the idea. Some asexuals enjoy engaging in sexual content without having sex with another person, some do not. Some have libido, others do not. We do not have hormonal issues, most are not asexual due to trauma and we are not all shy introverts incapable of having any sort of human interaction! It's also worth noting that this doesn't have anything to do with romantic attraction. Asexuals can be hetero, bi, pan, gay, aromantic e.t.c I believe pretty much everything I have said about asexuality can also be said about aromantism with the words swapped too. I hope this has helped and thank you once again for my asexual awakening! Seriously though you literally had 'a crush on a boy one day and a crush on a girl the next'??? Like a DAY?! Being allo (not ace) must be exhausting! xD
Thats a great explanation very well put And yeah there would be days where I'd see a boy and have a little crush and think am I gay and then I see a girl have the exact same feeling and think I was straight the only delusion I had was it had to be one or the other the feelings I had couldn't be for both but that somthing that I had to learn was okay.
@@Courtney-Jai Glad it has helped. That sounds really confusing, but glad you learnt that it's ok and I am sure your channel and appearance on heartstopper will help many others realise that too :)
One tiny thing: I think your post might be read as greysexual being very similar to demisexual. (At least I read it like that at first.) As far as I know greysexual is a label for people who do feel sexual attraction but either rarely, in few moments or for very few people or when you don't feel a lot of sexual attraction (in terms of the feeling itself). I think there are probably other ways to define it, but that's what I've read and can identify with.
I didn't mean for it to read that way, I meant little = grey and then demi = emotional connection. But thanks for clarifying for others, I agree with your definition of greysexual :)@@randomschoko1323
I am really excited what you say to how they end this season in the next two episodes. It's interesting now knowing the books and then seeing how much the show actually added and changed, next two episodes are the most emotional ones and I am really excited for season 3. I loved how Nick and Charlie talked about Sex in a sense or how they feel about it and I feel like this show is made for me as someone who never had a real romantic relationship and how feels a little uncomfortable with those topics and seeing that it is okay to say, if you don't want to do it yet. When I finally get in a relationship one day, I think seeing this show will then really pay off for me :) on a side note: Did you read the book Solitaire? For me it is the best book I have ever read and I really hope they will include some storylines from it in the third season. Would be interesting to hear your opinion on it, if you read it :)
I only recently realized im bi ( last year ), its been fun tho to figure out these things, find out what kind of guys I like, I've spent my whole life denying it cause homophobic parents and upbringing that now that I can explore it and enjoy it I'm really happy, sadly my parents still dont know and I dont know how to approach telling them, but almost everyone else in my life knows, didnt come out till a few months ago even to then tho lmao.
Yeah, I agree that Harry's apology seemed more like a ticket into the party than anything else. His behaviour is, while still not amazing, getting better. Slowly he seems to be less of a d!ck to people. If he keeps growing (because he still makes a lot of comments that are not okay) and then genuinely apologises he might eventually organically become friends with Charlie and Nick. This in contrast with Ben this season (and the last) who does not seem to be improving anything. edit, I don't think Mr Farouk is very aggressive or angry tbh, he seems strict as a teacher but not angry to me. It looks to me like he uses a certain teaching strategy of being very strict in the beginning, if he doesn't know the students yet, to make the boundaries very clear. Usually the idea is that students know where the boundary is and then don't feel they need to check all throughout the year, and you can relax the rules as needed. It's not a style I love, but I know it works for some people I know. It also depends on your personality a lot. I can't pull off the super strict thing because I want to make a connection first, you know, build a relationship with students. And honestly, I don't care a whole lot about most of the rules when I'm teaching. To be fair, I mostly teach one on one, so class management doesn't really factor in a whole lot.
I think farouk shows clear signs of regret and anger because of that regret as soon as he experiences happiness. He starts to be gentle, something I think we will continue to see in season 3. As for Harry, I think he shows a very real perspective of someone changing it doesn't happen in, and instance it takes time, and being young, he doesn't know yet how to show it seriously.
Love you, love catching your reaction videos. BUT, the stop motion animation on your desk top drew my attention. There was a person in Charlie's Truth or Dare scene who made a very valid point that I didn't catch till me second (or third) viewing. Someone said "it's too personal. Someone might get outed". And the group asking Nick if he wanted them all to keep it a secret. Obviously, one of them couldn't help themselves, but, the others were mindful. Wish people were like that in my hometown. When I came out (as bi) to a friend and her boyfriend, everyone knew within a week. But, it was okay because the majority of people didn't really care or already assumed I was gay. Every scene with Nick, Charlie, Elle, Tao or Isaac is my fave. Yeah, I know. I'm like that parent that "doesn't have a favorite"
Why should you have to have a favourite and sorry if the wallpaper is distracting I have it change through different wallpapers that ones just a longer one
It seems like Nick is unable to come out on his own terms. He's kinda forced out from the "spin the bottle" game, and there's another time where it seems like he doesn't come out on his own terms. Although they've talked a lot about Charlie's eating disorder, I wonder if they will talk about Darcy's drinking and whether it is leading to alcoholism which seems widely dismissed as something reasonable adults too, but is highly prevalent. I had this idea that maybe Imogen and Harry could get together, but the next few episodes hint maybe otherwise. I wonder what will happen to James as his character was there to give someone for Isaac to relate to, but if Isaac doesn't care for him in that way, will they need his character. I think you see Kit Connor's acting ability. It's more nuanced this season. Joe's improved as well, but Connor is still the one given the more difficult emotional scenes, and not necessarily heartbreaking, but being their for Charlie.
@@Courtney-Jai I'm wondering what role he played in the books. I have them, so I should probably re-read them. Haven't seen them since I watched Season 1 back in January or so.
I think it is interesting that Stephane inferred it was Nick who stopped coming to see him, however later the truth transipres that this year his new partner didn't want him around as they are having a new kitchen fitted but that doesn't take all summer to do and the way Nick says he would like to to meet his dad's new partner, Stephane seemed very uneasy as if either he or his new partner doesn't want Nick around.
@Courtney-Jai it's an interesting dichotomy with Nick and Tao, both have absent fathers for different reasons and I'm not sure which one would hurt more, losing your farther at a young age or have a farther that is present but not in your life much. Losing his dad must hurt Tao terribly, but at least he will have happy memories of his time with him, something Nick will never have with Stephane.
Courtney-Jai, first, I love your reaction videos - especially to Heartstopper. Just one suggestion, maybe be more aware of your background - that monitor was very distracting during your video.
Hard to pick a favorite scene as I just enjoy seeing the graphic novel come alive on screen and be further expanded. I especially appreciated the Ajayi-Farouk relationship as a representation for those of us denied those teenage experiences due to very different societal norms only a few decades ago, the 1990's were great but sadly lacking in acceptance. The struggle unfortunately continues, but I look forward to the day sexual and gender identities are no longer considered taboo.
I hope that will be the case one day but I never think it will be if people still fight over religion and race , sexuality will always be on thr back burner things will get better but they will never be solves sadly.
Hi...this random girl is pissing me off, she ruined everything, no wonder she is from Harry's friendgroupe and yeah finally nick is coming out and Nick's dad is boring and Nick leads the talk and my girls Tara&Darcy ❤ and again we can see how Ben is triggering Charlie and sorry your background on your screen was so interesting 😊

The Lies of Kit Connor 1. Sof is my best friend (No Kit, Sof was your girlfriend. You were seen together obvs as bf and gf all over Croydon, Borough Market etc. The kids he went to school with knew they were together as did the cast as he took her to social events. He took her to Paris where they shared a hotel room and made her pretend to be his bf. Had they just been friends they would still be seen together occasionally and she would have been pleased about him hooking up with Maia. There has, of course, been no contact between them since Maia. She had to keep up this pretence, avoid PDAs etc, so it must have been hurtful to see that he was not like this when he got a famous gf. Not a serious lie, perhaps, but one from the beginning of his fame showing that he was quite happy to lie to the public,) 2. Still gym pic was just gym pump and perfect lighting. It was “so embarrassing” that it got out there. (Bollocks. This was digitally enhanced a f. On the still pic the head does not even look like it belongs to the body! There are other topless pics of him (look at the recent Lyme Regis ones) and he looks nothing like that. He even said in The Guardian interview. “People say I don’t look like that, and I agree” ?? As for “so embarrassing” The Guardian journalist called him out on this BS. He knew that he was thirst baiting (a cast member also accused him of this) and he did it when there was a lull in attention on him. This is more serious as there are so many teen boys obsessed with their physiques and many with body dysmorphia, Celebs should not be fuelling this. (fortunately most straight boys don’t know who he is) 3. The gym video was Nathaniel Massiah training him for his new film. (There is no new film. He admitted in an interview that this “wasn’t strictly true”) 4. “Congrats on forcing an 18 yo to out himself” (Surely one of the biggest celeb lies of a generation. He claimed he had been forced out, got a million likes for his tweet and the attention and sympathy of the whole world. Big names such as Olivia Coleman rushed to criticise the bullies. It took him 8 months to admit that he wasn’t forced out in the interview in Vogue. This is really quite dishonest and manipulative.) 5. The cast at the Emmys saying “We don’t know where he is” when the award was announced. (He must have briefed them to lie, which was odd because everyone knew where he was - in Argentina with Maia. How did he hope to get away with that? This showed a huge amount of disrespect to the show and his colleagues. Incidentally, from the pics of them in BA it did not look like they were particularly enjoying one another’s company. Did she even know he was coming? Did he just go on a whim as he was already in Sao Paulo for Comecon? Looks like that as the Emmy organisers certainly did not know he was not going to show as the spotlight scanned the room to look for him when he was announced.) 6. I don’t like the Heartthrob label (Guardian Interview) (Bollocks again. He totally plays up to this. His first two young adult roles are gay heartthrob and straight heartthrob. You can’t move on the internet for pictures of him looking moody in a vest. He even wore angel wings for Vogue! As the interviewer pointed out, he knows exactly what he is doing. He only doesn’t like the label as he does not want to be pigeon-holed for parts. The journalist also questions his range in the interview.) 7. “I am bi” (The big one. One which is totally unprovable as he knows and is indeed why he said it. Up to you whether you believe, but given his track record of lying and the circumstances in which the “coming out” happened, I strongly doubt it. He admitted that he knew that they wanted to cast the show authentically and that the show runners would say this publicly. In accepting the part then (which in his case never went to open audition) he must have realised he was revealing something about his identity logically. As was Yasmin Finney, as was Joe Locke. Under these circumstances (whether we think this is right or wrong) you just have to own it. The only reason for not doing this is if you are actually straight but worried that if you say this you will bring the show crashing down and make the showrunners look like liars. The questions people were asking before this were legitimate. You said you cast authentically, did you? Or did you just take a straight boy who has done a lot of TV? Obviously, the queerbaiting accusations and the Maia situation brought these questions to the fore. There are other things that make the bi announcement questionable. The “coming out journey” narrative seems to be different in every interview he does. When talking about his coming out in Vogue, he said he also “might never have done it” How could that be the case for someone in the public eye if they actually are bi? It sounds like he never intends to have relationships with men as well as women. He also admitted in The Guardian that he might be “less willing to be open about it” if he were having a relationship with a girl. I take this to mean that he will just carry on having relationships with girls in secret. Whilst filming Heartstopper 1 he had a gf called Sof, whilst filming Heartstopper 2 he had a gf called Maia. Whilst this does not mean (as he well knows) that he can’t be bi, I suspect given the rest of what we know that he is not. He is more likely to be one of those straight people mis-appropriating the word “queer” to make then feel special and to fit in if they have lots of LGBTQ friends. Maybe there will be a retraction statement after the dust has settled on Heartstopper 3 and he has “got away with it” ) Happy to have any intelligent comments on my analysis.
You come across as obsessed. Kits life is none of your business. You base all of this on your perception of the situation. You don't know him personally and you literally have no clue about him or his life. Stop being so obsessed and live your life.
I really think it's probably time for you to move on I stopped reading half way through , obsession like this really isn't healthy if you don't like him that's your choice but to write a paragraph about him to complete strangers is a very strange action indeed.
@@Courtney-Jai You cried like an absolute idiot about him being "forced out" and you were completely wrong. You were totally taken in by the absolute nonsense of a lying celebrity.
Um 17:34 that face tells Volumes
Fun Fact: The boys were very tired after the hectic shooting when they shot the ‘Tao confessing that he kissed Elle’ scene.
how do you know?
In the books issac doesn't exist but James does so I think we will see slot of James still.
Yeah classic I'm too busy to have you in my life
@Courtney-Jai it's an interesting dichotomy with Nick and Tao, both have absent fathers for different reasons and I'm not sure which one would hurt more, losing your farther at a young age or have a farther that is present but not in your life much. Losing his dad must hurt Tao terribly, but at least he will have happy memories of his time with him, something Nick will never have with Stephane.
Truth or Dare Girl was MESSY.
Other than a contrivance to have the teachers hook up, WHY didn’t they put Darcy in the toilet, or even found a bin?
Thats what I thought I guess for alot of them it's their first time drinking and probably panicked
Courtney-Jai, first, I love your reaction videos - especially to Heartstopper. Just one suggestion, maybe be more aware of your background - that monitor was very distracting during your video.
Sorry it usually they are more static backgrounds its on a random loop , I'll make sure I'll switch the more dynamic ones off for the next video f
Whats your Favorite heartstopper moment
There are too many. When Charlie told Harry to piss off, the "good mates" mini montage, anything with Tori.
Obviously all the romance.
Isaac at the bookshop in Paris
Isaacs storyline with asexuality and aromanticism was my favourite. The party scene where he feels so lonley was really relatable.
From season 2? I think it would have to be the last few scenes in episode 8.
Season 1 is absolutely the first kiss scene.
S2 finale.
9:05 Kingdom Hearts!!! Are you a fan? ♥ ♥ ♥
I am I've completed all of them up to dream drop distance
@@Courtney-Jai Nice! It's my favorite game saga 😍
Hang in everyone episode 7 is gonna be an experience, also Would you kiss your partner if they had just vomited? 😂
I don't think Nick's father even tried to get out of it!!! Too short a call to have tried in my opinion!!! What do you think Courtney!!!
Meow Kitty!!!
Yeah he just probably seen it as an inconvenience being with nick , classic father who puts himself before his kids
hi i love your reaction on this episode i dont realy like nick dad its look that he doesnt care for him and nick try so hard but it feel like his dad only care for him self and in truth and dear to me i think nick was force to came out because u can see on his face that he feel so up seting that he letting char down but we all know he hasnt and char do understand and he will be there for nick and he will be beside him all the step of the way and i love everything in this episode but iam not sure if iam right about nick was force to came out and just wounding if u going to finish off young royals season 2

Blimey, just trying to be helpful lad but you need a hair-intervention immediately.
Unless you are planning on transitioning, then 👁 retract my critique.
What would suit you best would be as I have said before a Rylan Clark former host of BB cut with a singular middle S curl or an Edward from Twilight cut.
If you plan to remain and boost your presence as an influencer with commercial appeal in general, it is in your best interest to retire the Madame Pompadour meets the thunderbolt from the revival of Frankenstein homage.
Cheers London Lad!!!!!!!!!!
Funny my millions of views , being in heartstopper and the fact you're watching my video would say otherwise.
Also, your taste in hair sounds boring if you want to be an "influencer" I hate that word as I don't influence anyone you stand out you don't blend in.
The Lies of Kit Connor
1. Sof is my best friend
(No Kit, Sof was your girlfriend. Not a serious lie, perhaps, but one from the beginning of his fame showing that he was quite happy to lie to the public,)
(fortunately most straight boys don’t know who he is)
3. The gym video was Nathaniel Massiah training him for his new film.
(There is no new film. He admitted in an interview that this “wasn’t strictly true”)
4. “Congrats on forcing an 18 yo to out himself”
(Surely one of the biggest celeb lies of a generation. He claimed he had been forced out, got a million likes for his tweet and the attention and sympathy of the whole world. Big names such as Olivia Coleman rushed to criticise the bullies. It took him 8 months to admit that he wasn’t forced out in the interview in Vogue. This is really quite dishonest and manipulative.)
Looks like that as the Emmy organisers certainly did not know he was not going to show as the spotlight scanned the room to look for him when he was announced.)
6. I don’t like the Heartthrob label (Guardian Interview)
(Bollocks again. The journalist also questions his range in the interview.)
7. “I am bi”
(The big one. Maybe there will be a retraction statement after the dust has settled on Heartstopper 3 and he has “got away with it” )
Happy to have any intelligent comments on my analysis.
Obsessed much???
“poor Kit forced out” narrative. It took him 8 months to admit the lie which is disgraceful. I am pretty sure I am right about the rest too.
