No spoilers, but this show will be a pretty big thing. 40 years ago when I was Charlies age, this just could not have happened. Everyone knew I was gay in high school but I still had to completely invisible because I was not a funny gay, or a theater gay, or a fashion gay and I was definitely not a party gay or a flirty gay. Good that regular old gays have a place in society today too.

I did enjoy being in choir as well as drama, but I was definitely not “loud and proud” enough to be my genuine self. Even having grown up in Key West, Florida… one of the gayest places in the U.S.

as a 39 yo gay guy, I am really glad teenagers nowadays have these kinda show to tell them it's ok to fall in love without prejudice.. but at the same time, I kinda feel sad it didn't happened sooner when I was in high school... I wish I was a teen again :')

I’m 57 and feel exactly as you. So happy for gay teens today, but how I wish it would have been this way 40+ years ago.
Sometimes I watch these things and feel like a “creeper” because of my age, but I just imagine how differently life would have, could have, should have been in my teens.

the more reactions of this i watch, the happier i am about how simple and happy this story actually is. we're used to lgbtq+ media being depressing and with twists and i know that's what the cast has said in interviews and promos and stuff but actually seeing reactors constantly expect the worst puts it in a different light. when i watched it i had already seen people online talk about how relieved they were with the story when watching it, so i didn't have the same fear - just slight disbelief and curiosity which ended up with me being super overwhelmed lmao
exactly! finally not a depressing storyline again. this movie is more about cuteness in curiosity with a happy ending. The positive vibe is always present while watching. AWESOME!
As a comic reader lemme just say enjoy the fluff while it lasts.
@@Jimins__Pookie i've read the comics too and had when i made that comment, and my point still stands. a show/comic can deal with depressing stuff without generally being depressing or having a dark/depressing atmosphere, and that's something Heartstopper does imo, both in the comics and in the show so far
As someone who identifies with Nick, this series is just so so special to me and I love how wholesome and genuine it feels overall. Definitely would love to see the whole series in this channel :)

I’m 45 and I just binged this whole season yesterday and it literally blew me away. I cried so many times during the whole season. I had a huge crush on someone who was straight when I was younger. He gave me “vibes” that could’ve went either way, nothing ever happened but. This show makes me wish I was in love. 😔🥺
Honestly the most wholesome and adorable lgbt+ series I have ever seen. It’s a fantasy world where leaves and hearts swirl at a glance and electric sparks fly over a simple touching of hands and yet it feels so real because as a teenager that’s how it actually felt.

This show means a lot to me, it’s amazing how with a “simple” story people can be moved with so many emotions. I just loved it.
I was in school back in the 1970s. If something like this show had existed back then I wouldn’t have spent the first 20 years of my life feeling like an alien outcast
I have been watching for a bit, and I think this was one of your most adorable reactions. I would love to see more of these episodes on TH-cam! Having seen the whole series and read the comic, one of the things I love is that it manages to be relentlessly positive without shying away at all from all the negative things that are out there.
Fun fact, The winter scene was created during summer, the scenery and snow are all props. The cast even said it was so hot when they shoot that scene. A massive kudos to their acting and dedication 🍂💙🧡

Olivia Coleman is the GOAT. She played the mother of a Gay son in the show ''Beautiful People'', the mother of a Queer daughter in the animated movie ''The Mitchells Vs. The Machines'', and signed an open letter supporting Trans rights. She is an awesome ally.

I loved it when you said, "I'm pre-empting anything bad ..." There were so many times that I thought, "No, not here. It's dangerous. Someone might see and hurt you!"
What's so wonderful about the show, though, is that in the time-frame of the show, everyone controls how they come out. In the novel, it seems that word got out about Charlie before he was ready for that many to know. And Tara even tells a character later that each person should tell who they want to when they're ready.

Your reactions were basically mine lol. The little illustrations are such a cute touch to the show and it's already heartwarming. I adore Isaac too but I didn't realise how much he was like Damian from Mean Girls until you said it. He's kinda got that vibe for real. Charlie's sister randomly popping up was one of my favourite things as well. She does the same thing in the graphic novel but it's done almost as if she magically appears out of nowhere. It's so funny her always sipping on a drink and dropping a comment. I love a hydrated, nosey queen. Also...it's so funny that you saw Charlie as the golden retriever before you met Nick (who is the ultimate golden retriever).

I've already watched the season about 9/10 times, so I'm taking a break to watch reaction videos and I love this! It's fun to see what other people notice and to watch someone else watch the show for the first time. There's something so mesmerizing about the cast (particularly in the sheer amount of non-verbal facial acting, like, Kit Connor is a masterclass here), writing, aesthetic, and the soundtrack all together.

This show hits different because it’s innocent and honest and open . They set up problems and made you think it was gonna be like every other show where it’s all back and forth but instead they come forward openly and understanding and it’s such a healthy portrayal . This show is def important to the culture .
I was absolutely in love with this show.
I binged it on Monday... couldn't stop.
I cried...laughed...was angry... cried again.
Its so heartwarming and relatable and every thing they do and thought hit me right in the feelings.
it was so satisfying to watch that they react like a human SHOULD react and not doing stupid things over and over again.
After the last episode i was destroyed, sad, happy and couldn't sleep.
Right now on Wednesday I finally was able to watch your reaction... I have still a bad feeling in my stomach thinking about this show but it was absolutely worth watching.

I've read the four books before the series came out and watched the series 5 time already (no joke, in three different languages as well, in preparation for my French and German GCSE's 😂, which went great btw, but nothing beats the old classic English banter) one being on the premiere night and I'm OBSESSED with it and in love. It feels like my own little special show/book series but everyday I realise how big it really is! You best belive I forced all my friends to watch it and now they're talking about it non-stop as well
I’ve never seen an adaptation so perfect and really think because creator wrote the show and had a lot of control! The animations are directly from the graphic novels and the cast is so perfect it’s literally like they’ve jumped out the pages of the book x

Didn't make it through a single episode without crying loads. But, I'm kind of a softy lol. I was an utter mess in the theatre on opening night Avengers Endgame. Thank goodness there was a girl next to me ugly crying as well, made me feel better ha.
