I'm sold on ar glasses. I bought the Xreal 2 pro. I was blown away on how a 1080p screen looks so beautiful with these things. I love 3d vr and all. But lightweight glasses that can also do light 3d vr. I can't wait for more players to come into this space. I want to see samsung make their own.
Great content but I'm about sick and tired of companies coming out with new tech than coming out with an unannounced better version like 2 months later. Had I know the ultras were coming out, I wouldn't have bought the pros and waited for the ultras to release. 😐
You're joking right?? If you paid attention to TH-cam videos. It was around mid 2023 that the CEO said that Xreal will launch new glasses capable of 6 degrees of freedom near the end of 2023. YOUR FAULT for being an impulsive spender. 🤣🤣🤣
All the nreals can now be used to extend display of a windows monitor right? I'm waiting to use it like that for a work related purpose. Also, good video.. I have had trouble finding a review I like.
FYI I asked them if you can do anchor mode, smooth mode, etc without any device. They said NO. You still have to use the beam or a capable device to unlock the 6DoF. So basically they are just Air 2 say if you just use an iPhone 15. Adds no functionality to the actual glasses.
Right, but using the right device it's so much more capable. That's like buying a 2024 700hp sportscar in the US where there's no legal road you can use it any more than you can use a 2010 toyota corrola, but on the right race track, then it's game changer if that makes sense.
@@KingKola_ I’m just making a note because some people might buy the device and then realize that you can’t do everything it says unless you use the right device with it.
Great video! I have been looking into AR glasses primarily to watch shows while doing chores around the house and walking the dog. Do you think I should wait for the Ultras?
Do you still need the beam to be able to hold screens in place or have multiple screens? If you still need the beam then I'll just get the regular air 2 with the beam.
Great video. I feel like the apple vision and meta quest are not really in the same exact space as these AR glasses. Although they have the same capabilites, the meta and apple are purely for home or indoor use, whereas I think the AR glasses, i.e. Xreal, Rokid, Viture, are all pushing toward the idea of having something inconspicuous and indoor/outdoor all day wearable. In my opinion, it is 2 separate concepts/experiences. I am most interested in the "glasses " as opposed to "headsets". You could walk down the street with the Xreal on and people could easily never notice that they are AR glasses. You cannot do that with the Meta or apple. Idk, just my opinion. I am so excited for the next year or so with this space. I can guarantee that there will be many upgrades/new models popping up. So it's hard to decide when to buy, but for me, even the original Nreal air is really cool device and is the most affordable and is a consistent and durable product. If someone wants to dip their toe in and check this space out, but is looking for a more affordable option, the Xreal air is the way to go. I am hoping that we get to the connectivity issue sooner rather than later. That will be the game changer. Getting these glasses to a place where you can use these wireless with Bluetooth is the race to win for these companies right now. That's the next future I'm ready for
I purchased the Ultras February 13th and still waiting for them to ship in the US I also ordered the beam Pro which just shipped 2 days ago combining the two will give you some 6dof in their native nebula app like using hand gestures to select apps
Fantastic. I am visually impaired and considering the Xreal as a visual aid. I would simply like to stream free to air tv. I imagine these will do that fine? One important question is can the cameras project the surroundings that i am looking at onto the inside of the glasses, like a camera straight to the screen. Any degree of this function will help my eyesight immensely. Which model might do that best?
I am in your position and asked 🎉he same. I have the Xreal glasses and man do I bump and trip around even knowing where the walls are in my home. It’s the reduction of the FOV with the Ultras that may it better for full sighted users. I’m waiting to hear about use of the Beam Pro with the Ultras as of right now the 2Pro might be the best for now.
Awesome I’m trying to get ar glasses for movies in bed and possibly a second display.. I don’t know which combo offers the best hustle free Netflix TH-cam experience with 3dof.. I’m using a 14prp max and 14inch MacBook Pro m1. What would you recommend
Quick question, the reason I am interested in the ultra.. 120hz with the beam included. I’m not sure I would fully utilize the 6do but I primarily want these glasses to connect to my iphone 15pro to play cod mobile, connect them to my laptop to game or have multiple monitor setup on the go. Or possibly just only take my iphone with me and a tiny bluetooth keyboard to have a pc in my pocket. Is the ultra overkill for what I want or are they a solid pair for future proofing a bit?
I realise this new product after buy the xreal air 2 pro, it was no information in the xreal website last december 2023. When i browsing the website again, this product show up. I feel like, danggg,it hurts. But lets enjoy xreal for a moment while the ultra becoming more perfect in this year 2024. About the nreal light. There just few youtube that review it, it has some flaw and i think its not worth to buy. So far xreal air 2 still enjoyable and very cofortable help our need with this glasses. Especially the brightness which more than the older one. I wish xreal give kola a chance to review the ultra. Love your channel man!!
Thanks fam, i hope they send me one. And yeah i agree, i wish xreal focus more on polishing the devices they already put out rather than newer ones with some of the same issues, but software seems to be more challenging for them i guess.
Thank you so much. You answered a question I had in the last minute of your video. Which is a better buy between meta quest 3 and Xreal ultra? Believe me I have watched a lot of videos. Yours I find the best and very honest. One more thing if you can help, do we need to buy Xreal beam along with Xreal ultra too? Does it add any more functionality?
Thanks for that. There isn't much info as far as compatibility is with the Ultra just yet. But as soon as i get my hands on it, i'll be trying all kinds of "Experment" on it.
The Ultras combined with the beam Pro have some 6dof like when you are selecting and navigating the apps in their native nebula OS. I also think that some of the games they already have available have been updated to 6dof.
Well, the camera is what allows the device to do so much more like 3d mapping, hand tracking, and stuff. Since the device isn't battery-powered, i think we'd still need the beam or another device like a phone to get those spatial features.
@KingKola01 but, if we have a good phone, we wouldn't need the Beam , right? That's a great saving which makes these cost not that much more than the air 2 pro. And more convenient
@@matthewferguson8423I'm also interested in this. Can we use all the Xreal Air 2 Ultra without the Beam itself? I mean the Air 2 Pro features opened by the Beam, like changing the size screen and the zoom.
Great video, one thing the quest is more a home device whereas I see myself using xreal to enhance my everything life. I would wear xreal in public v Apple or quest! Keep the videos coming!!
Thanks for the overview. Awesome style of one-take and recording! I didn't know there was a product called Lite that preceded the XReal Air (1). Very interesting. I see there is an updated Nebula release for Windows now. If you're up for it, would be great to see an overview of how well it is doing in real life use on a Windows computer.
Appears so, but man if i had a dollar for how many tech companies that over promise and under delivers. Also, Visor doesn't have a single tech product out yet.
You can't say that Xreal Air 2 Ultra will give those other devices a run for their money when each product has its own separate target audience and its own use case. Meta Quest 3 is meant for stand-alone gaming and some productivity. Xreal Air is mainly meant for media consumption and some light productivity. Apple Vision Pro we don't know its full potential but we do know that it's not focused on VR gaming and it doesn't have haptic controllers. It's more of a wearable Macbook Pro on your face that can handle productivity and/or some content creation at the bare minimum. 3 products. 3 different target audiences.
I think you're reading a little too much into it. Yes 3 different products, but typically, most people shopping for one will consider the other options. Even Xreal is targeting those who will be looking into getting the apple Vision Pro.
bro i installed nebula in windows but my glasses are not starting on. i connected it via hdmi to adapter to glasses. do i need usb port to activate nebula on windows or any high end graphic card with type c ?
If you connect your glasses through hdmi the glasses will not have any power going to them just video signal, you'll need a special adapter to make that work
I have all the Quests and I’m looking at getting an Xreal just because I can use it outdoors and would be fun to play my Steam Deck on. Not sure which model to go for, good to see there’s more apps out there on the Beam too! Which do you recommend? I like the ultra, but computing and hand tracking doesn’t work on iPhone.
