- In this video, I'm going to install BTT SKR mini 3E V3 on my Creality Ender 3 pro. Big Tree Tech has released this SKR mini E3 version 3 not so long ago and I really wanted to have this board with the TMC2209 stepper drivers.
This bigtreetech SKR mini E3 V3 board is 32-bit and is very silent during printing. There are many 3d printers from Creality where this SKR mini E3 V3 board can be installed to like the Ender 5!

Yes indeed, plain and simple one on one, only if you have a BLtouch, it can give some issues... unless the firmware is adjusted/updated
I thought that too, except now my printer won't boot. Time to contact support i guess.

Oh my god. I have been having the same issue with my v3.0 board and the bltouch. Please keep us posted on the firmware 🙏 your a godsend and instant sub just for this head ache issue I've been chasing down the internet like a snipe hunt.
Literally spent 8 hours trying to find firmware and compile it. Had no luck.
Oh thank you very much... yeah the whole thing with the BL-Touch costed me one whole weekend. I want to have downloads, that are easy to use and install for my viewers. Board is pretty new, I'll chase BTT for better firmware for the board with the BL-Touch
Yeah I can imagine that my friend, all other times it was easy to do get the right firmware, but not in this case.

@@Zachary3DPrints I just this week installed the E3 V3.0 board on my Ender3Pro with BL-Touch. I compiled my own version of Marlin using the 2.0-bugfix branch, and the BLTouch is working just fine for me right now.

I've had a bunch of weird issues getting this to run on an Ender 5 plus running kerseys fw and the tft35 screen. I'm about ready to go back to stock at this point
thanks that was super easy.. i spent over an hour with another video. All i needed was a base install without the bl touch this was perfect
Glad it helped... A lot of people complained about the fact that I wasn't using the BL-touch.
Thank you for this. I'm new to 3D printing and tried to do as much research as I could prior to getting my under 3 Pro. So I figured I'd upgrade to the SKR mini 3 v3.
I kept wondering why I was having bed leveling issues and issues with X,Y axis etc.
Until you mentioned that this board has a port for the x, the y, two ports for the z and for the 3. I had my x plugged into my y, my y plugged into one of the z ports lol. Which could be avoided for beginners like me if they just marked that on the board, I'm thinking they go in the same order as the 4.2.2 it came with...nope! lol

I know its a year late, but if you look closely at the silkscreen on the board, the x, y, and z,z connections ARE marked, at least on the board I got.
One caveat for the dual z, it is a parallel output from a single driver.

Nope not yet, I do have some other projects on the other printers as well, meaning that I didn't work on the issue

I'm not really sure about that, but since the printer looks like one, you can install this board to it as well
Awesome video! Exactly what I need to install my V3 board that I just ordered. I also bought a pack of jst connectors with pre crimped wires on them that I'll just solder onto my fan wires.

What issues are you all having with the bl touch? I compiled the firmware myself and got it working, is there something wrong with the one BTT put on their git?
I didn't go that far to compile the firmware, wanted to save it to another video. Yes, the one on their github acted weird making it loop the whole time and just going up the whole time instead of leveling the bed
Is it safe to attach the hotend male fan wires into the dc in on the board as shown in the video? I don’t want to have to buy a wire crimping tool.
I have done that too, but you keep hearing the fan blowing the whole time

Hello job27700, in this video I left the BL-touch portion out, since I had some trouble with it. But if there are newer version of the firmware, the Z Offset sound be in the menu under Level/leveling. The new offset should be stored after you did the offset
Do you know how to connect it to Repetier-Host, it creates no com-port although PC sees it as stm32 usb device.
I haven't connect this board to Repetier-Host. The board has a STM32 on the chip, so that can be correct.
Ordered this board and was going to put it in my CR-10 V3 but it doesn't line up with the stock board mounts
OMG, that is not good, did I mention that you could use it on that printer? Doesn't it fit on all the mounts? How many can you use?

I have a Ender 3 Pro and I successfully replaced and installed everything except my fan.There’s 1 red and 1 black wire that I don’t see where it can go.Any help?
You can either wire it in tandem with the board power so that it is always on, or what's better to do is add one of the connectors to it that the other fans use and then plug it into its designated spot. I happened to have had something else with the same connector that I was able to cannibalize and use it for the fan, but you may need to purchase one if you do not

Hi Zachary, could you make a video showing the install of a BL touch and how to set up the firmware? I recently grabbed one of these boards and I’m finding setting up the BL touch very confusing.
the Touch is the 5 pin connector seen wired in at 4:38
@@model3gt My colors for the Blue Red and Yellow are not in that order. Should I leave the connector as is or swap to match his colors?
Hello Guyroscopes, I have had some issues with the Bl-touch during the installation and recording of the video making it work correctly. By now they should have updated firmware. I didn't really get into the Bl-touch issue afterwards.

Online there are schematics how the wiring should go and check the recent firmware from Bigtreetech if they have newer versions of it

I installed this in my Ender 3 Pro with CRTouch and new TFT screen. Cant seem to get the levels set as it is always to high even after i level the bed manually and with CRT. Also, why does it now reconize my printer as an Ender 3 not E3+
Yeah I did had some issues with the BL-Touch and therefore I have deleted the ABL from this printer. With mine when I did wanted to home, the gantry went up more and more...
So what's the point of this board if I can't even use a bl touch with it?
You are right then. But maybe they have now the firmware updated and you can use the BL-touch

Hey, I read all the BL Touch comments here in an attempt to figure out why I'm having issues with BL touch using this board. I tried the github firmware, both bltouch with z homing and standard bltouch, all with no avail. I tried building my own firmware and still an issue. Pinout looks the same order, in the 5 pin port, and even tried with the z stop connected and disconnected with mixed results but still a fail. is there any solution and/or updated video for this issue?? better yet, a link to tested and working firmware with the bltouch?

I'm get a "sd init fail". And when trying to preheat it says heating fail: E1
hello, that sounds like a SD card issue. When you get a E1 error, please check your wiring on the board.
Now, am I going to have to upload firmware for this or is it ready to go?

Wow, you been waiting 12 days, just got my board and really wanted an answer to this myself because the video isn't clear, the back wire just blends into the background...
Anyway, I have the answer for you...
I tried to put them both in dcin. It didn't work.
So then I put the red wire in the dcin and the black wire in the ground. It worked!

Hello Zelious Sigma, thank you for your reply on this comment. Could it be that the wire didn't make contact with the DCin? Normally there should be power on those wires from the PSU. But great that your solution did work out for you by using the ground from the machine.

It has multiple missing components and I had needed days to go shopping thing i never ever in my life heard of and hoping I won't kill the printer in the process. No helps how to put it together so i came here for this video to...
Great to hear that this video could help you out. Yeah sometimes it can be challenging to do this, I fully understand that… for that reason I still didn’t update the firmware, because it takes time to run through the whole firmware to get it right
@@Zachary3DPrints right now it works. I swapped my magnetic bed to mirror one and now the only struggle left is make it stick to surface but got annoyed and my current print goes with hair spray
