  • I have had a lot of people with questions about the skr mini v3 so I figured now would be a good time to pick on up. In this video, I cover the differences between the v2 and v3 and provide a recommendation on which one to get.

    I didn't get a duck with my v3 either... felt a little shorted. I went from the original ender 3 pro board to this board and it was night and day. Love the fan controls and the quiet steppers. Thanks for the review.

      Hi. It’s odd that the ducks are in some of them but not all, not sure why. I agree that this board is a huge upgrade from the stock one.

    Hi Rob. First of all I want to thank you greatly! You have no idea how much time I spent trying to fix a problem finding a good firmware to make my Ender 3 Pro to work with CR Touch and a 4.2.7 board. Finally I came about your 3D website and what a relief... I finally managed to fix all the issues. With that said I want to do a bit more than just thank you. If you are a Star Wars fan, I do make models of ships and Pod Racers, all out of my own interpretation and imagination. I would like to send you one of this models, I paint them and make dioramas. Let me know how I can send you a model. Its the least I should do to thank you for all you do.

    If you are having issues, I was having issues with Visual Studios (to build the firmware), and I went into their Discord and posted a message in their "general help" and Patrick popped in and was able to help me. My problem was with Visual Studios it just plain did not want to work on my Windows 10. Sure glad they will live help, people this is a cool thing.

    Curious which chip yours came with cause there are mentions of GD chips making their ways into the SKR boards? I have had the mini e3 v3 for about 3-4 months now and it has been great What pisses me off about the board if the fact that BTT boasted about dual Z axis when in reality this board does NOT support dual Z. It has dual z ports BUT they share the same driver and that wasn't fully made clear in their advertising otherwise I would never had gotten this board. No G34. No dual extrusion. I have ran both Klipper and Marlin using CR touch. It's been a great board. BTW, mine did come with the rubber ducky🤪

    Love the V3, especially when combined with the TFT35. I had the V2 before and I was happy with it, but parts of the board started failing on the V2 after a year, so I upgraded to the V3 recently. My biggest problem now though is I cannot connect my printer with this board to my Raspberry Pi for Octoprint. As far as I can search there is not a solid fix or guide on how to fix this. So for now I have a printer that is ‘offline’ and needs to be manually started with SD card, and the others have to stay with the V2.

    tried everything for the v3, could not get the micro sd card to work with the ribbon cable or by itself. Had to compile with marlin bugfix and not the bigtreetech files because it would fail on the build. It would read the firmware.bin file on startup, but would not read the sd card after. I setup a return for the v3 and ordered the v2 yesterday.

    • @InfernoViperz123
      @InfernoViperz123 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry since this is very long after the initial message, but I have the same error, the reason it occurs with an adapter is because there's a physical sensor, but even when I use SD_NO_DETECT which should bypass that check, it still won't read from an sd card reader, but a regular micro sd will still work. Did you end up finding a fix for it in the end? I'm concerned about damaging the micro-sd port without having an adapter, and alternatives are a $60 touch screen, or $70 for a raspberry pi, neither of which I particularly concerned with as a replacement board would be half that price and I'm not interested in the features those products provide either.

      @@brandonknight8671 I ended up just returning my CR Touch, its not too bad leveling the bed with Marlin 2.0 and honestly it was just too much of a pain to deal with that it wasn't worth it. Plus, the fact that the Z-Stop preventing my bed from getting scratched couldn't be plugged in and having to rely on the CR Touch to protect the nozzle and bed (half the time it didn't).
      On another note, do you have any other recommendations for paid modifications to get, which have real functional use. I've mainly been looking for a way to transfer over WiFi, I saw the TFT35 board has support, and the RaspBerry Pi, but both are fairly expensive for just WiFi.
