  • Yet again, we find places to explore fairly close to home! During our one-year-of-RV'ing anniversary trip back to Lake Greenwood State Park, we ventured over to Ninety-Six, SC to see the National Historic Site there. It's fascinating to walk the grounds and learn about the events that happened here, and how instrumental those events were in the creation of our nation. Situated amongst 1,000 acres of forest land, this site is another example of the fantastic job the National Park Service does at protecting significant places, keeping them beautiful and accessible to everyone. If you live nearby or are traveling through this portion of South Carolina, you definitely should devote a couple of hours to experiencing this great place!

    Great video! Thanks - we were camping at Kings Mountain S.C. and visited the Kings Mountain National Park - the wonderful ranger there told us all about Ninety-Six and it is on our list...now we are even more excited to go there. We will need a campground close by - too far for just a day trip for us and sounds like so much to see....thanks!

    Very odd, a star fort built in the euro design.

    • @LiveNLearnRV
      @LiveNLearnRV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, if you think about it, at the time it was built, the colonists were still TECHNICALLY Europeans... 🤔 Thanks for watching!

  • @lallyoisin
    @lallyoisin 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You should look into star forts. Any pics of fort Wood before lady liberty went up?
    Any pics of lady liberty being put together?
    Not the individual parts.
    They were invented by da vinci (forts) always built with a relationship to nearby water. Sri lanka - the dutch built. India the Brits built . France - the french built . Portuguese same etc etc.
    If every nation in europe used the design why can't they be explained?
    In Ireland - spike island or kinsale have good examples.
    Matara in Sri lanka has visible drainage in the center. tara is sanskrit for star. Like hill of Tara.
    Green comes from Irish - greana ghrian. It means Sun or ⭐.
    images.app.goo.gl/uHx2WSkNwQzXJs339
    They make 0 sense as a fortification.
    Handy in a flood though.
    Peace
