Cam Smith Cubs 1st round pick 14th overall moved up through three levels to double A and will be one of the bigger chases showing power and average. Over 1 ops with a low k rate
I thought about buying this product, but I thought that getting a second mortgage for a super jumbo wasn’t worth it. At these prices, it makes a lot more sense to buy singles.
Scott is right about Bryant’s autos. Both in regular bowman. In 2014.. Bryant and Jose Abreu were the biggest chases. Bryant cards were selling like crazy in 2014
Great stuff gents , buy singles . I only do a cheep RT if I can find them. I got a Mike Trout on card auto./25 for stadium club. For $22 RT last night.
In addition to not having the "1st" on the card. Image variation autos were also sticker autos last year. Not sure if they will be this year but that's something to consider.
@@itsuptoome1983you want the auto with that first logo! Lots of guys have variations in the same sets as their first autos, but topps doesn’t put the FIRST on them!
Easy pass for me. Prices for wax is out of control and has really turned me away from ripping anything. Just take your money and buy singles of what you want.
I purchased 2023 Bowman Super Jumbo last year, and I still regret that purchase. This year, I purchased a Chrome Update jumbo that is still unopened. Most likely, I will open it. I have seen some banger boxes and some real duds on TH-cam.
Everyone just sounds like prospectors and investors, you need a few collectors to round out your panel. There is no $ upside unless someone ultimately wants to hold the card for "collecting" purposes, not investing purposes. Complain about box costs, but you appear to just value roi, which, along with breakers, just drive prices up for collectors.
to me bowman 1st is like the michael jordan star cards, lol. a bunch of people got together and said we aint got the right card so this is the new right card. major league money for minor league players just aint for me but im happy yall found something you enjoy. definitely dont need my approval
I mean, the first card is always the card collectors have wanted. 1991 Chippers, 1993 Jeters, 1986 McGriff, etc. All basically prospect cards, right? All that’s really changed, it’s Topps has convinced us that a player now has 2 years of keys cards.
@Blabbin_Bout_Slabbin im not saying it hasnt been a successful effort, lol. for me, its a bit much time, money and effort put into what is typically a teenage boy when i rather spend my money on grown men. big strong ones with full thick beards. give me an image of a big strong man with a full thick beard and man oh man... what were we talking about
I stopped prospecting the moment I figured out that by the time some of these prospects make something of themselves, I will be in a nursing home (if I am lucky). Who knew that simple math could be so sad.
2024 chrome update is awesome but prices are absolutely disgusting. Hobby boxes being sold for $275ish. But saying there awesome. Are they really? Is it just rookie debut patches outside of Paul Skenes bc most guys gave there rookie auto in regular chrome
From my POV, this draft class was not that good, maybe the worst in the last 6 years. While it has interesting top guys, I think the draft quality drops significantly. Just doesn't have the depth to warrant the prices (I think this years draft product is going to end up like 2021 Bowman). I would definitely open 2019-2023 Draft before I would open 2024. There are only two players I am chasing in this years product: Cags (watched him a bunch at UF) and Cam Smith.
Boxes are ovepriced so you're better off buying singles. Even if you buy singles of the better prospects, you're screwed because their prices are already so high before they've even come into the league. Corey Seager's a 5X all-star, 2x World Series MVP, and ROY winner and his 2012 bowman chrome auto blue bgs 9.5 sells for around $800. Walker Jenkins is a good prospect in the minors, but his 2024 bowman chrome auto blue psa 10 sells for the same price. Leo De Vries is a good prospect, but people are paying $800 for his bowman chrome auto raw. I know prospecting is fun, but is it really prospecting when you're paying the amount of money for accomplished players? 99.5% of these guys getting pulled from boxes wont have a career like Seager.
It's funny how they made the numbers in 2024 to be lottery balls. Just like the draft, Bowman is a lottery to open, where most don't make it and few win huge. It's almost too perfect.
Can't disagree with majority points you all make regarding the product. I did hesitate, but ultimately bought the pre sale jumbos. However... I have an inside look at one of the top picks in the draft (won't say which one) who played ball in my area. Will hopefully get in some breaks at good value since he isn't being mentioned here as one of the top guys. That's the play with any prospecting IMO, gotta find those guys who you know or feel something about that whole hobby hasn't jumped on yet.
If Bowman Draft doesn’t stay above $500-550 for the next year, it’s a massive Fanatics failure IMO. The hype is real with this product, and it’ll last longer than Topps Chrome Update’s hype.
I can’t believe people are spending money on any of this stuff at these prices. If people have the money to throw away and open this for fun that’s one thing. Most don’t. None of this is sustainable. I personally go to cards for escape and fun but expect nothing more out of it. I put real money in real markets with real returns. Sports cards ain’t that. We all agree this is just sports gambling right?
Sports cards might make a return as an "investment" but that probably wouldn't apply to anything we discussed in this video. Both the opening aspect and the cards themselves (and the sealed product). So I agree with you.
I like how the year on the box resembles lottery balls
Wyatt Langford PSA 10 1st Auto - POP 756! You were right, insane!
Insane is right. ALT shows a pop even higher than that in the 800s (maybe accounts for the "10" Autos).
Cam Smith Cubs 1st round pick 14th overall moved up through three levels to double A and will be one of the bigger chases showing power and average. Over 1 ops with a low k rate
Good stuff. I’ve heard good stuff about Christian Moore too. #8 overall.
I thought about buying this product, but I thought that getting a second mortgage for a super jumbo wasn’t worth it. At these prices, it makes a lot more sense to buy singles.
💯💯
You can buy cheap wander redemptions and then play the mystery replacement game with topps
Fuckin genius!
Scott took the major L on Julio over Witt and now gets to take another on the Julio over Wyatt call.
Maybe I just need to stop believing in Julio?
In addition to not having the "1st" on the card. Image variation autos were also sticker autos last year. Not sure if they will be this year but that's something to consider.
Ugh. Sheesh
I have dylan crews that doesn't have the 1st.... can you elaborate on this?
The image variations have never had the 1st logo as far as I know. I know for sure since 2018 onward they didn’t have the 1st logo
@@itsuptoome1983you want the auto with that first logo!
Lots of guys have variations in the same sets as their first autos, but topps doesn’t put the FIRST on them!
Cam Smith, JJ Weatherholt both have big time upside imo
Holy crap, never noticed before. But Scott, you’re Miles Mikolas when you rock the mustache.
Well done 👍 🎉
weak draft class and overpriced boxes big skip
Easy pass for me. Prices for wax is out of control and has really turned me away from ripping anything. Just take your money and buy singles of what you want.
We all really need to take a stand against the absurd pricing. Card shops included.
Only way is not to buy it...
Jackson Chourio 2022 draft bowman?
1st Prospect non-auto card was in 2022 Bowman Baseball, 1st Prospect auto was in 2022 Bowman Chrome
There is a John ElaWay auto card in the set. Recommend watching my Bowman draft release preview at kcards.
I’m going to try and get a box because I want the John Elway Superfractor Auto
I purchased 2023 Bowman Super Jumbo last year, and I still regret that purchase. This year, I purchased a Chrome Update jumbo that is still unopened. Most likely, I will open it. I have seen some banger boxes and some real duds on TH-cam.
Same, my buddy and I got a case each he hit two supers and a Skenes auto /50, my best card was a Skenes base auto, 75% pitchers
No, just like Update. Been a blood bath from what I’ve seen.
Card manufacturers wouldn’t sell packs if opening them had positive expected value
If that were true they would not have sold a single pack of 52 Topps. Time will tell
If every pack had value, then none of the would
@@Blabbin_Bout_Slabbin "If every dollar had value, then none of them would" that doesn't make sense
Not a big deal obviously, but Corbin Carroll was going to go to UCLA - but never played in college after being drafted by the DBacks.
Ahhh gotcha
Witt Jr was an Oklahoma commit but didn't sign after being drafted and Gunnar was an Auburn commit but also skipped college

I take it Scott finally got around to seeing Top Gun: Maverick?
😂😂😂

The days of draft boxes doubling/tripling and more are well over. Too much is printed and ppl are holding cases upon cases more then ever
I stopped prospecting the moment I figured out that by the time some of these prospects make something of themselves, I will be in a nursing home (if I am lucky). Who knew that simple math could be so sad.
I’m done with all boxes…Only buying some singles.
2024 chrome update is awesome but prices are absolutely disgusting. Hobby boxes being sold for $275ish. But saying there awesome. Are they really? Is it just rookie debut patches outside of Paul Skenes bc most guys gave there rookie auto in regular chrome
Jeff here: way too much for me to rip
Scottie B forgetting to shave. What is that on your lip? 😂

No, buy vintage and hall of famers and be happy. Singles all day
Singles ALL DAY!
@ and Chief Bender!
That makes sense
I’m going to pass on Bowman Draft

This is hilarious and sad at the same time. He was the starting QB 5 years too long.
Another breaker product that's way too expensive ridiculous
