And all continents, countries, and states with a North & South defined differently have one. In Italy, they call it Rome & The Vatican, in The Americas it's called the Panama Canal ETC.

"Central Jersey" is a real place, I grew up there, and never called it anything else. Central Jersey, where Subs and Taylor Pork Roll on a hard roll live in harmony. Central Jersey is the magical geographic incubator that gives the world Bruce Springstein, Jon Stewart, Debbie Harry (Blondie) Danny Devito, Queen Latifah, Jack Nicholson, Bon Jovi, Greg Anthony, Peter Criss (KISS) and so many more. From Asbury Park to Colts Neck to Redbank, to Middletown to Freehold, to Long Branch and Atlantic Highlands, the center of Central Jersey is Monmouth County. It is the coolest of the cool, which is why both North and South Jersey try to lay claim to a piece of Central Jersey. Central Jersey stands alone as the best of North and South. And don't forget, there is the Central Jersey Shore and its boardwalk, unsurpassed in its cool factor anywhere,...a place so cool, Johhny Cash built a hotel there. Stone Pony anyone?

Yes, Virginia (and PA, and Delaware, and anybody else...) there IS a Central Jersey! I'm from Tren-in (I've never said the middle /t/) and you can't get much more "middler" than that! I say pork roll and hoagie, but only started using the famous "f" word after working on the Turnpike back in the early eighties.
