2024 is off to a strong start in the AC visuals department. With C13 AEGIS 1.54 i've completed some of my best and most interesting work yet. Improved color profiles, better color reproduction, new ways to calibrate the filter and for the first time ever, different glare presets to choose from! Assetto Corsa graphics keep evolving, and I'm proud to say we're right there at the cutting edge.
Massive thanks to all the patrons who support this work, it means so much to me that you're helping me devote time to this. So from the bottom of my heart thank you.
This filter is currently available to testing for tier 2 patrons, but i expect it to become public not long from now.

This is how NFS3 looked liked in my mind when I was a kid. Its beautiful, amazing.
Those filters are really nice, unfortunately the low poly maps we get in most mods and the flat trees are immersion breaking to me

I'm not a linguist, but I think the word you're looking for is contrast
@@C13Automotive No, contrast just describes the difference between bright and dark. It does not describe everything being under or over-exposed. For the most part this is more under-exposed than over-exposed. What this actually is is too much dynamic range for the color range.

This is amazing, but honestly you should let the engines speak for themselves and let the music die down somewhat. But still, this filter is incredible!
actually one of the best ppfs for AC. i've been using it for years (first obscura, then aegis), but it was always only 9.9/10. give it more gamma. reality has a gamma of about 2.2, so start with 2 and adjust it from there. your darks are too dark, and your highs tend not to 'burn out' enough. bright sunlight needs to be able to 'burn out' the brights. and your eye can see more in the dark when it gets used to it. we don't look in the bright spots. we look in the dark because it doesn't hurt our eyes. so make sure you can see in the dark spots and don't mind if the bright spots 'burn out'. but you want to see the details in the dark. so gamma your filter. then it will be 11/10.
You can adjust the gamma for your display with the gamma slider on the pp tab, and if using 1.54 or newer there are calibration sliders that skew the tone mapping curve to enable you to adjust mid target to fit your display device. As far as blowout and the vision reality comparison goes, C13 AEGIS has since 1.0 moved toward simulating a wider dynamic range, and the custom tone mapping is specifically configured to retain highlight detail while maintaining good filmic mid contrast. If you'd like peekier highs, adjust AE target and use the "power of the sun" toggle. Beyond this the aesthetic of the filter will not be moving towards a low dynamic range aesthetic. Additionally if your dark detail crush is referring to 1.44 or 1.44.1, the low end contrast has since been adapted to increase visibility.

Absolutely fantastic work, C13 Automotive. But the thing I like about it the most --- is if I am having a conversation either at work or on the street about Sim Racing with someone who has never tried it before. I can show them a video like this, to hopefully knock their socks off so to speak. Then maybe as a result, get them to also try the joy that is PC Sim Racing. [;]-)

@@JacopoDiGiuli f9 cycles leaderboard display, but you can map a key combo in CM to hide all UI completely
@@JacopoDiGiuli with ctrl + h you hide all the UI.. you can also disable that grid in settings -> assetto corsa -> view and ui -> and i think it is show leaderboard option the one that you should disable... for the chase camera you can search on racedepartment, there are need for speed, forza and gran turismo chase cameras.

I honestly love this pp filter, it has been my favorite for a while now. However, during clear weather, the sun is too strong, making it difficult to see anything.
May I ask which version specifically you're referring to?

No, you just need pure. But make sure that: you've installed manually, you're running default pure settings, that you don't have dumb CSP settings, that you're running quality content.

I see that you work a lot on the visual effects, for which I congratulate you, but pay attention to the realism from the physics, any child will even look for a second and recognize the game, no matter how good it looks, the speed is super unreal, the grip of the asphalt or the tire one is super arcadey like NfS, it lacks respect and the danger of wrecking the car and the realism goes straight to the dustbin!!!
Don't know how much you know about the Assetto Corsa modding scene, but those of use that focus on visuals tend to not stray into the physics side of things. Most of the cars you see have had physics done accurately, unless you're saying that the Assetto Corsa base physics is broken. But then I don't know what to tell you.
just check the asphalt grip values in the track data file don't know if you know what I'm talking about, if you drive a car for real you will reduce the value by feel and get to the point where the lane change will be more careful because you will really the car costs

There are many things that could have gone wrong, I can help you troubleshoot in the discord
Do you got this quality in replay or real time ? I eard replay quality can be great while the real time is OK.

i must be stupid, but i don't get the same result at all. i installed the paid version of patreon, your setting, but the game is too bright, at night you can't see anything, in short; a patreon purchase for nothing. i have an i7, and a rtx3060ti.

Your PP Filter is fantastic as always!!❤❤ However, i ran into 1 problem with the newest version, i used the paid one, the flare from the sun is a bit too bright, can you show me how to fix it??
It is easiest to troubleshoot this in the discord. But for an instant relief dirty fix: Open pure config, go to the shader tab, and disable sunblinding.

i downloaded c13 aegis but my game doesnt look that good
Make sure you're doing apples to apples daytime/weather comparisons. A CSP preset is also available
@@C13Automotive yeah i used the csp preset, but you game just looks more lively, and the AA looks better, especially during day time. Mine is over saturated even though all the settings are default. I redownloaded CSP preview and ur preset, and redownloaded pure but it just doesnt look as good. Iv'e been trying for an hour now because i want my game to look this good

I have 1.54 but the colors seem washed out and there isn't much contrast. Is there a csp preset or pure preset i need to make it look like how it is in the video?
Reset pure to defaults and verify you have the appropriate version installed in the pp tab of pure config. Make sure you did NOT select replace Yebis in weatherfx settings

@@zaidjkhan1 are you running an old CSP or old Pure? 0.2+ would be recommended. But since that option shouldn't be enabled, it's obviously not the issue

Glare settings are forced by the glare profiles, as such they can not be changed by modifying the filter ini, but you may edit the lua for personal use. If you'd like to propose an additional glare profile, please leave a comment on Discord or Patreon with your ideas.

If using a Patreon version, there are calibration sliders available. If using the public version, I have received a report of darkness yesterday, and we didn't quite figure out what was up. The track is la canyons with a snow skin available in the c13 automotive discord

@@Camiandrulli I'll try to answer this as politely as possible while making a strong point. The purpose of a pure config is for the end user to customise their global preferences that are shared between all filters. Pure has extensive scripting support that allows filter developers to dynamically adjust all of pure's values, based on whatever parameters they'd like. At some point someone who didn't want to learn how to use pure's scripting capabilities decided that the easier way was to just ship their pure config along with the filter and have the user load the config separately. This is a bad practice. Not only do we now have per filter configs which are applied automatically only for the specific filter they're made for, Peter Boese has written extensive guides on how to get the most basic adjustments done simply by modifying a stock pure script. C13 Aegis is without competition the most advanced filter available for pure. From completely custom tonemapping, to complex systems that control everything from color grading to saturation and auto exposure, no other filter maker has truly explored the possibilities that pure brings to the table for filter development. Let me be clear, a filter that comes with a pure config is a reflection that it's author is either unwilling or unable to learn how to properly package their work to be straightforward for the user to use and install, and such a filter also lacks any advanced functionality. Beyond SKY, C13 AEGIS and the base pure filters there are very few that do things properly. It is not "only" the filter. It would be "only" a config. This is much better.

Really nice PP filter to compliment the 2D billboard trees. Very immersive. Doesn't remind me of GTA III from 2001 👍👍
The game has such a huge potential and the devs focus on the dead ass compitizion game, hat just few hundred people play.
I think they're mostly focussing on AC2 now.
