Brendan's zine really resonates. Photography was a huge part of my recovery following blood cancer and a pulmonary embolism that very nearly killed me. A camera and a small dog (my border terrier Dexter) really did give me a purpose and saved my life. Anyway, top, top work Brendan and thank you Ted for sharing it on what is hands down the best photography channel on TH-cam. Much love to you both :-)

Richard James Palmer's "Nan" reminds me of my mom, who I lost a year ago. I wish I'd taken more photos of her; not just cell phone snaps, but real photos honoring her very interesting life. Yes, the family has hundreds, but not enough of mine, for me.
Brendan's zine is mind-blowing. What a concept, to face possible death by both celebrating and questioning his own life, photographically. I don't know if I'd have the nerve to even start such a project.

There is a sea of talented photogs and beautiful works whose name you only just heard of. I can only feel so humbled. This has reinforced my belief that, to really create a great work, create something that is meaningful to you personally.
Once you put yourself and time in it, slowly the value of your work will bubble through to the surface. It doesn't matter if others see it, but you'll know.

We all have something to share that really does connect everyone even if we never meet. When I retired last year my wife suddenly came down with a rare condition called CIDP. I’ve taken a few photos that are personal to me and I’m not sure I’m as brave as Brandon was however it does hit home that we all need to show compassion for one another and give grace where it’s needed. I’ve watched your channel for many years because you do it for the right reasons and many because it’s genuine. Thanks for all you do Ted.

Rather than wait until the project is complete i want to produce a couple of zines on sub topics of the main body of work. I’d like the zine to be of high quality and wonder if you recommend any particular company or if you’ve been impressed with the quality of reproduction of any of the zones sent into your channel. This shouldnt't focus on the gear but the ideas that went into capturing the image.

Thanks for another great video, Ted. Brandon’s story is poignant and touching but in the end I see in his searching that he found no real concrete answers to questions that seem naw at all of us. In John 14, Jesus said to His disciples, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.“ Questions such as: How did we get here? Why are we here? What is our purpose for existing? Is there a God who created, so beautifully and artistically designing and meticulously engineering everything we observe, and if so, are we accountable to Him for how we live this very, very short life? Is there an afterlife? Where will I be spending it? My eternity? My forever? In heaven with God or in hell apart from Him?
In the Scriptures, David, the king of Israel in about 750 BC wrote in the Psalms:
Psalm 103:15-16, “As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place acknowledges it no longer.”
Solomon, the wisest man ever wrote in Ecclesiastes 12:1: “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” Scripture also points out the reality that “the heart of man is desperately wicked and deceitful above all things, to the point where we can’t even fathom how depraved our moral condition is.” And that God looked upon mankind and offers us a way out. A redemption. The ANSWER to life in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” That we have all sinned against our Maker, God and have fallen short of His glory. That “the wages of sin is death,” not only in our flesh bodies but death in our soul. And ultimately, eternal separation from God in hell. In the Scriptures, Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” John 3:3. Repentance from sin, a transformation in one’s life! God giving a person a new moral conscience. Reconciliation with God, both in this life and for eternity! THIS is what Brandon is searching for but I believe hasn’t found it yet! A genuine peace thet passes all understanding that comes from knowing your sins have been forgiven and forever pardoned by God! That one has been given the gift of eternal life by the risen Savior, Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son. Jesus said in John 14:6 “Jesus said to His disciples, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Ted, I really enjoy your videos and I have learned so much! From time to time however, you touch on some of the deeper most important issues in life where you point out that we as people are searching for meaning purpose in life and are seeking answers, many of us seeking truth. I, in the most humblest way I can, wish to point others in the direction where they will find solid, true answers to life, which can only be found in God, in the Bible, through God’s Son, who because He loved mankind so much, gave His life for us and died on the cross for our sins and who rose from the dead, Jesus Christ, the living, risen Savior of the world. We will all give account to Him and we will all bow our knee to Him one day.

loved this kind of videos, and this was one of the best because you opened to us ( one more time) i think what makes us send you our zines or books its because we can see you as a transparent person that is not into feed your ego or seeing us from above, we can see you do this from your heart and that kind of energy just go beyond the screen and the one-side conversation you were talking about. you are so true , and so passion about photography.
like an spanish song i love says: "there is no limit for the people who is born with the gift to touch others heart"
maybe some day we can make a group or something when we (the audience) can talk among us, and support us in this photography world we , and you, love so much
    thanks like always ♥
