Today on the Scraggsman channel I will be ranking Mario Sports Mix Characters from best to worst on a tier list and share my thoughts on who is the best.
Underrated?! Are you kidding. 97% liked this game for the record. It is even possible that Nintendo will put this game on the Switch so this is absolutely not hated and infamous from the community, at all.
white mage is unparalleled in dodge ball. she has a massive catch range and can catch a ball off the ground. in any other sport? i don't know. she's CRACKED at dodgeball tho.
Also is it just me or did White Mage's special shot magic blast stay active for a long time in hockey/dodge ball? Like you would still get hit while the explosion of light was disappearing. Plus the size of the blast was really big in dodge ball and hockey. She sucked at basketball tho :\
Power is is the speed that you launch the ball/puck or how fast your dunk comes out neither of which usually make or break a character except for volleyball where having a decent power stat makes the game a lot faster
In order to block lightning mages basketball shots you have to press 1 on him and steal the ball while he’s casting. You don’t hit/steal the ball, you actually steal him
I think that black mage is the best character in multiplayer because his "spells". his lighting attack in hokey makes him great there (its a great way to steal the ball), he is amazing at dogeball and volleyball (because of fireball and lighting. He isn't the best in volleyball tho, white mage is better there because of her block) and decent at basketball. Also im playing multiplayer of 2 players (because i find the game boring with only 1 player). Thats why i think he should be A tier and not in B (he is still pretty good).
I have been thinking about whether I placed him too low because I think I'd rather him over diddy kong who was in A tier because his rainbow shot wit the lightning is too good. Overall though I think his power shot isn't the best as it can be easy to block. I can see it being either A or B though.
white mage is great in volleyball but black mage is better tbh, White mage while having the best block is still susceptible to fakeouts and she has a bad special, i think they are the top 2 in the sport with toad third. Ninja suffers in Vball from a lackluster special and cactuar has mad lag on turnarounds and spikes that makes him not as dominant as usual
Personally in dodgeball black mage is the best. He has one of the best specials, his block with lightning blocks passing to yoshi, saves yourself and teamates, and has pretty decent speed. White mage and waluigi are also pretty good but personally black mage is better. Only for dodgeball though. I mainly play dodgeball so I wouldn't know if he is good in any other sport but I know for sure he is at least one of the best dodgeball players.
Yeah I would agree with that for dodgeball, he's decent in the other sports but not the best. If I was only covering dodgeball then the speed characters wouldn't be that high as it is the only sport where speed doesn't matter. Probably up there with Waluigi if I had to guess.
Black mage is also far and away the best volleyball character by lunge alone, it shuts down most the cast and his special is also hard for anyone besides cactuar to reach with good timing
Me and some friends picked up this game a little while ago for old time’s sake, and we all agreed to ban Cactuar because of how broken his abilities and special shot are
Hey your trio is close to mine but I had Luigi, Donkey Kong, and Green/Blue Toad going into the Sports Mix. But My Three Favorite Characters are Regular Green/Dodgeball Outsider Blue Yoshi, Luigi, & Diddy Kong, with Orange Slime and Donkey Kong as My Power as the Green & Blue Toad as Backups since I don’t like putting 2 of the same people on the same team like Toads/Yoshis or the Kongs/Bowsers Together.
That seems like a solid team, I stuck with my three of Luigi, Waluigi and Bowser Jr. because they were my favourites. My backup would be Bowser and Cactuar. As much as I hated on Bowser in the video I don't actually mind playing as him. Can't imagine what the final match would be like with bowser in sports mix star cup. He'd be bullied by the ninja.
I'm a year late to this video but I think each sport has a clear top tier. Cactuar in hockey and maybe basketball, and Bowser Jr in dodge ball and maybe volleyball. At high level play online these two were menaces in those sports. You could argue that Toad was better in basketball and volleyball than those two cuz of his special shot and his dive is him spawning a mushroom instantly, but I think Cactuar and Bowser Jr are just so good.
@@typhlocube9359yeah this is about my thoughts too, In a 2 player scenario or high skill ceiling white mage is top 2 volleyball as switching to black mage or having another person to covers her fakeout weakness cause it's really get only one. I agree with your list

Another character like this is Yoshi who has a hard to block special but nothing remarkable besides that. Imo high tiers are those with great moves overrall, some of which the best in the game, but are drawn back by that one thing. Yoshi imo is like high-mid tier

This was one of my first non-scripted videos and I wanted to see how it looked. The whole video was a last minute idea to keep up with uploads. Looking back I wish I did plan it more and make it sound more interesting. I appreciate your feedback and look forward to using it in future videos👍
My computer is nothing crazy and it still ran it with bits of lag and a few minor audio issues but you don’t need anything expensive if you do want it to run. Personally I’d buy it third party just because I like having my games physical.
@@scraggsman3448 I just remembered that they put it on the WII U eshop, so I might get it on there. It's really just a matter of whether or not a controller will feel better than the wii motes for this game
If I'm being honest,you may be a bit high on Luigi and a bit low on White Mage. Luigi suffers from literal lag when you properly time certain shots in basketball,combo attacks in dodgeball,and spikes in volleyball: All of them leading to you being down a teammate for a bit sometimes and this coming from someone who plays Luigi A LOT mind you. As for White Mage,her special blocks and moves in every sport make her quite a threat such as her magic field in dodgeball and volleyball,and her blocking spell in hockey,basketball,and volleyball. As for other characters,Yoshi should be a little higher in B thanks to his tongue technique in Dodgeball and Volleyball as well. Lastly,Black Mages lighting spell can be blocked IF you do an air swipe(tapping the steal button in the air) though it's inconsistent at times in basketball at least. Overall,fair tier list I guess.
Arguably Waluigi has a better special shot in all sports as he has the potential to get 4 points unlike Daisy. Daisy's special shot I'd say is best in dodgeball putting stats aside when comparing.
Scraggsman ok but daisy gets put in c tier for having the exact same stats as waluigi but a worse special shot, meanwhile waluigi gets A tier. Her shot isn’t that bad she deserved to get downgraded 3 tiers
Some things I'd like to say : - Power characters are not the best but in volleyball they have an interesting use. Their rainbow smashes are faster than with the other types and they also knock the opponents out (as if they get hit by a shell) instead of just stunning them so they take more time to get up which means they won't smash you back. And also idk if hitbox/hurtbox difference between characters is a thing in this game (it probably is), but Bowser and DK are obviously the largest characters in the cast so their block has a better range following that logic. My volleyball team (I play with duos) is Black Mage and DK because DK is slightly faster than Bowser (I think Bowser has a better save tho), and Black Mage because 👇. - Black Mage is absurd in volleyball. Not only his save has a near perfect range (same for dodgeball but it's a bit worse here) but his special is very hard to catch. Bait the opponent into one direction, then aim and shoot at the opposite side asap (ex : lower left, then upper right), if they didn't anticipate it (if the opponent is human), they are NOT catching it. - One thing you forgot about Wario is that when his smoke bomb is out, you can actually SEE the cursor despite the smoke, but the opponents can too ! Which means that this special is fucking useless. Imo Wario (and Slime) should be in a tier below Bowser and DK because their special is at least decent (except in dodgeball where it's straight up good), even Slime has a better one but he's too slow to be salvaged. But I really dont know what you can actually do with Wario, I like the guy but his speed is trash, his save is trash and his special is extremely bad... - Toad is stronger than Waluigi (or at least same level). Not only is he fast, but his special is cancer, especially in volleyball and dodge ball I genuinely don't see how you can catch/dodge it safely except with Black Mage. I almost would have put him in S tier for his special alone.
If there is one thing I have learned from the comments is that Black Mage is better than I thought. That is a unique duos team as well with Donkey Kong thrown in. Wario is useless as well forgot that people can see the cursor making him nothing. This game was the reason i knew about Final Fantasy When i was a kid i didnt knew about FF at all. I always named: Ninja as "ninja" Black Mage as Scarecrow White Mage as Rosalina because she looks very similar 😂😂😂😂
Wario bottom tier? Wow, I didn't realize he was bad. The game was piss easy when I used him. I would beat the expert cpus effortlessly. Except for Volleyball in DK Docks, fuck that stage!

Diddy Kong can literally cheat in basketball, he can go under the hoop and throw it through the bottom of the net to score, un blockable
Mario's super power is very good, from my experience it almost never fails, maybe It's just me but it seems very good
That’s because you never fought a hard mode or very hard or master CPU in which they beat it every time.

Is it good emulated? Or should I just buy a copy from a third party supplier on wii u?
