    You can do the same in Gimp, only there you have 3 sliders(the middle one is for general brightness of the picture), but other than that it's exactly the same.
    Colors → Levels

    Hi! I was wondering, if you have a tutorial/tip for converting a batch of colored images to B&W all at once? is this something I can do in ACDSee or Photoshop CS2? Many thanks!

    whats the difference between this and just doing a contrast with the curves tool?

    • @JustinOdisho
      @JustinOdisho  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Curves would probably give more control, this is a quick and dirty way to use the tones in the image to increase contrast

      +Justin | JustThisGood.com [late reply] thanks so much! I appreciate it. One more question: Any suggestions on removing matte texture from a scanned image? I found a plug in but I can't seem to get it to work :(

  • @idreamtofflight
    @idreamtofflight 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    this is good but the kids face is clipping like crazy, if you applied a normal gradient map first then masked in the parts where you wanted the more dramatic black and white (eyes, etc) it would probably be better. still a good video for people to learn from though!

    Outdated, the "first gradient that comes up" is actually a pink colored shade...

    Wow..Don't get me wrong...opinions are just opinions...but mine is, the one on the right looks like a normal soft baby. the one on the left looks like an alien baby....Its just not what you actually see in real life...over sharpening/detail is the biggest culprit...but hey some may like an alien baby look. I know your vid was to help., so I am not slamin the vid ...just throwing an opinion

    Hello, do you know "Photo SFXart Tricks" (just google it)? On their website you can watch a nice free video explaining how you can take outstanding pictures. This helped Matt to take photographs which have a jaw-dropping-effect while you look at them. I hope it helps you as well.
