This ps vita 1000 is like 12 years old and has been discontinued for like 9 years that’s why the parts are extremely hard to come by I have spent the better part of 5 years buying all kinds of spares from all over the world for it just in case I can just about build a whole vita from the parts. And in all honesty ridiculously expensive. Good job keep it safe lol.
I think the vita, even when new and in production, never had good aftermarket parts support, and now with it being rather old and obscure, nobody cares about making parts for it.
I ordered a motherboard us edition for a really good price but it’s missing the screws and the L shaped metal plate and the smaller metal plate. Is it okay to reassemble the unit without those? Can’t find any online.
I'm pretty sure nothing bad will happen if you reassemble without those metal plates, although it would be good to at least connect the pieces with some metal wire under the screw heads. As for the missing screws, i recommend finding similar replacement screws, because there is a risk the vita might creak when in use
I'm not sure you can get a new OLED screen, from a quick search, all the new replacements are "lcd", ant they're not as good looking in my opinion. Do you have any links to new OLED screens?
nice video, but: the screen is in ok shape? :D NOPE
It's better than the aftermarked LCD replacements, certainly!

If you are going to tear down a Vita this far. Just replace the screen, the Vita 1000 screens are silly cheap.
