    I've been taught this but could not find many videos on it. I almost thought it was not a good technique. But I trusted my coach as he's been doing this for over 30 years. The timing is really hard to get my body to do it. But when it happens, the ball just flies... effortless power... it is incredible... I'm struggling to make it more consistent... like everything in golf :) but I'm on my way to playing my best... great video!

    As social golfer I am amazed on how many techniques and tips on weight shift or centering the body in golf swing.. Oh add the swing positions P1 to Ps which is bit too much to master. Recently I started watching the pros both pga and lpga and I noticed that they all do one thing in common ( i did not recall seeing any 'youtubers' swing coachsaying this), they bend their front knees toward the ball at the start of their back swing. I copied the same move and immediately noticed I have better low point control and power. My gross went down some stroke that weekend and golf became fun again..

    Excellent video and thank you Lord - explained in simple language!!! Without starting a semantic battle between “stylists” how does this “stack up” with the people who recommend keeping 55/60 % of our weight on the left side? Main reason being all that happened when a coach suggested it was I got “stuck” and armsy!

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Those players don’t need to shift as much so they arms will still pull down and across but you can start to rotate a fraction earlier

Also, on Padraig Harrington’s channel he did a video about how the body should slow down just before impact to allow the arms to gain speed to sling through the ball. Nicklaus would turn his head, Patrick Cantlay keeps moving his feet, Henrik Stenson’s move is really noticeable, but Rory’s is very slight. I think I don’t understand the movement properly, Im trying to shift my body to the left and kinda jump and put the pressure back to hit up on the ball and increase attack angle. Another wonderful video. What I got from it so far is that I think maybe a good question to ask ourselves after doing the throw the ball motion is, where, what and when did we feel with regards to pressure changes in our feet. Then we have made the swing our own. Your thoughts?

      Precisely that! I love the where, what, when thought!

    Mcilroy has a shot of like 4-6 inches brother. Even just watch a swing of him against a sponsor board, shifts like a full letter

      @@Gilesgillgolf maybe but I think not, this is just an iron, that easily 2-3 inches. Sometimes his drivers are more, camera angles fudge stuff.

      Thanks. But I thought that with a driver you need to hit up on the ball whereas if you shift your weight 5 inches forward on the downswing you are hitting down on the bal .....?
