I'm from a very Mexican family and this movie is a cherished childhood memory of my older tias and tios. Whenever we're together one of them just has to sing the main song in Spanish. So needless to say they were very upset over the disclaimer that we are forced to read just when we're about to watch this on my Disney plus. A lot of them are wondering what's so offensive about it.
@@Nevermore941012Because it has stereotypes about Brasil so it's not about Mexicans and more about the stereotypes about people from Bahia that they put in the movie

Hello, a Mexican here clarifying some doubts. This movie was part of my childhood along with other classics that I enjoyed on Betamax tapes, I have it well kept in my memories, it is like a little trip throughout Latin America, you learn a lot in a short time, especially at a young age. Seeing the 3 characters was like seeing 3 cousins, separated by borders, united, as used to happen when cousins from the United States came to visit and then party on. Panchito Pistolas represents us very well as Mexicans, brave, happy and crazy party-goers, and even more so at that time, in the midst of the golden Mexican cinema, with so many cowboy films, machos bravos who moved sea and land for the hearts of their ladies, films with many classics songs, fulls of heart and drama. Also Panchito was used as the emblem of the Mexican air forces that fought in World War II. Piñatas are used on birthdays, but they are also usually used at family Christmas posadas, since, after all, they celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus, and they usually come with holiday sweets and seasonal fruits. The large instrument is a Jarocha Harp from Veracuz, and the characteristic music is a Son Jarocho, very typical of the state of Veracrúz; In Mexico, even though we all share Spanish, the culture is very diverse from region to region, something that perhaps they forgot to comment inside the movie. Indeed, Mexico City was founded on an islet in Lake Texcoco in 1325 by the Mexicas (or Aztecs as they are also called) until then, the city was connected by canals and bridges, and upon the arrival of the Spanish people in 1521, The lake was filled in so that the entire area was livable, but because of that the city sinks a few centimeters per year. I think the reason why Donald is so in love, must be because of the charms and strange spells that Latin American girls possess with which they captivate us all, haha, Greetings.
What they don't tell you is Mexico city was built on the original Mexica city of tenochtitlan the city torn down by the Spanish. The ruins are still there in the center of the city.
This was one of the weirdest Disney movies in my opinion. Donald chasing after women is just strange to watch 😂. Can't wait for the next movie reactions 😁
This is a film where I feel the parts outweigh it as a whole. A rough outline idea I have to fix it is: more of a focus with the story by having Donald go on a goodwill ambassador trip to Mexico, Latin and South America and he meets up with José Carioca again (so it would be a continuation from Saludos Amigos) and the two go around various places like Baia and that segment with the live action stays the same, maybe have José tell Donald the story of the flying donkey and Pablo the penguin they continue on their journey going into other countries meeting with other people and the two will meet up with Panchito Pistoles in Mexico and the song Three Caballeros will commence and the rest of the film will have them going to other places and the film will end with Donald going back to America saying goodbye to his friends and meeting back with the US government and giving them a report of his trip and that is how the film will begin as well in a combination of live action real government officials and an animated Donald Duck,
Ok first of all, these notes are excellent… if I ever perfect time travel (still working on it) I will go back to the early 1940s and personally deliver these notes to Walt. Secondly, having Pablo the Penguin and the flying Donkey shorts narrated by Jose or Panchito would we actually solve so many issues with this movie. It would give it much more of a throughline- so that’s a great suggestion. And finally having Donald Duck shake hands with the real US president at the time would have been iconic!! And would have cemented this as a huge piece of Disney history! You need to get a job at Disney during the 1940’s!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
@EdizAndBen both great songs ! That was the Max and Goofy reprise of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious right ? For some reason I always had a soft spot for Pete's song as well 🤣
Loved this movie since I was little. The music is still so good that I feel like dancing whenever I hear "Os Quindins de Yaya". Still dream of visiting Brazil and Mexico thanks to it. Also love "Saludos Amigos" as well. Honestly did an essay in college about the making of the two films along with the origins of the Good Neighbor Policy and the professor loved it.
Love this fact! I’m going to have to go back and listen and imagine it’s Bambi’s dad telling him a bed time story. Maybe away from everyone else he had a bit more fun and wasn’t always so stern!! 😂😂
I really like the movie I didn't even realiser after the flying donkey short that the song numbers where all separate segments it thought they were all just part of the three caballeros wich feels much more coherent than saludos amigos in my opinion
This movie is one that practically nobody has ever heard of but i love it. I love the relationship between Donald, Jose and Panchito and the penguin short was entertaining but i didnt care the flying gauchito. I love all the crazy adventures these three go on. It makes me wish there was a spin off show in which these three go on lots of crazy adventures around the world. In one episode they would go to paris and another one where they go to spain amd get into all kinds of silly shenanigans and wacky antics, i think that'd be a great show.
This is the most I’ve ever seen any reactor enjoy/know about the three Caballeros. I’m right there with you. I can’t understand how this movie receives so much negative reviews. For me it is just such a little vibe. It’s very own thing and it has so much fun art and music.
Saludos Amigos and Three Cabaleros have both a splendid characteristic: Donald has no One, but Two Happy Endings! This is special for him, because it often ends badly for him in his cartoons!
Mentioned the Alice Comedies. I can bring up another obscure Disney fact. Mickey's rival Pete first appeared in the Alice Comedies as a bootlegger (Prohibition era and all). This makes Pete the oldest recurring animated Disney character, older than Mickey, even older than Oswald.
