Paint color : Bohemian earth, ive pinned this comment so you guys can see it! Ps. A year and half after doing this video I lost my baby brother so if I haven’t responded to your comments in the last 2-3 years that is why. Please be respectful when leaving comments. Thank you.
I absolutely love how your taking your time and turning your house into how you want it. Not just buying things but transforming things. I just love it, you can build, cook, do makeup, make wigs, mommy, husband. Lady you are super woman, thanks for sharing.
Queenie, I loved this video. I have a similar dark trestle farm table and want to paint it lighter. You gave the perfect amount of explanation, not too much, not too little. Thanks.
I'm so glad that you made your own chalk paint. I've been making my own for about 15 years and it will make the cheapest paint work beautifully. Annie Sloan paint here in Australia costs about $60 for 500ml that's insane. I also love that you are using good old furniture, not that cheap crap that is made now. If you also give your last coat of varnish a light sand with a 300+ grit sandpaper and then wax over the top, it will cure like cement. Leave it for 30 days, for best results. Love how this turned out 🙌🏼♥️♥️
Thank you for that pep talk in the end. I was about to do the reupholstering when I came upon your video. I felt I needed help. I love your method. Thk U 4 being slow and detailed. I love that U used 2 different patterns. God bless your success.
Super cute. My decorating style is more on the modern style, but I definitely appreciate these videos. Love how you're improving your home on your own time. That's a table you can pass down to a child and they'll have stories for years.
I only subscribe to channels that truly inspire or encourage me in one way or another! I like really practical persons things and situations. No bragging or showing off but real down to earth people showing appreciation for home family sewing cooking gardening do it yourself or chats that improve my life. Yours is just a real blessing in so many ways Queeni and I a thrilled to find you! Ty! 🙏 You did a wonderful job on your table! It turned out lovely! How has the chalk paint held up? 🍃💐
This is the first time I viewed your channel....aaaand I love it! So genuine and real life. I was a doubter relative to your project itself but I was wrong! Looks so, so good! You give good instructions and honest tips based on your experience. I’m a fan!
Honey you are amazingly talented. I love the end results!! I don't know if I would have the patience or talent (lol) to redo a table like that. You are our new Wonder Woman, live and in living color. Thank you so much for sharing with us!! I can't wait to see all of the finished projects shown at once, that would be like a new house, and you did it yourself!!
I took the boxer my husband didn't like so I sewed the front closed and I wear them for short too. They are really comfortable. So I like the look of the table. I didn't know you could make chalk paint. Thank you for sharing how to make it.😁
Absolutely beautiful! This is what I have been wanting to do to my dining room table, after watching your video I feel confidant about doing this, thank you!
I absolutely love the result. The finish looks silky. A distressed look just wouldn`t fit into my home and that`s why I was looking for a look like the one you created:) Thank you very much for sharing. Friendly greetings from Slovenia :) Josi
Very nice. I just finished my dining room and living room. Might as well get it all done now, can’t go any ware . Love a different look every few years .
@@LifeWithQueenii glad I found your channel!!! I am tired of the destruction my kids have done to top of my table and was close to throwing it out! I live this but question if I want it back the stained wood color would i just sand down and use a stain instead of chalk paint?
It out nicely Queenii. I just start restoring my dining room table, it was my sister table and I got after she passed, but it needs some updating, but mine will be black high gloss.
Your dining room table is just like mine! I was thinking of painting it, also. I found a set of upholstered dining chairs to go with it. Can't wait to get started tomorrow! PS I also make my own chalk paint!
Thank you for not giving the long introduction that bores people like me. Well explaining and advises about non costly materials because the idea is to save when I watch some other people with $10 or more for each brush and us beginners waste many because we don’t know how to use or clean. ridiculous amount of $ for the paint . They’re defeating the whole purpose
Lifewithqueenii, How is your table top holding up? I am using chalk paint on a current table and plan to use the polycrylic as well. Is the polycrylic doing a good job?? Great video!
Omg this was such a beautiful transformation! I have been looking for a table exactly like this, but the prices are INSANE! Especially for it not being solid wood! No thanks. I’ll just give my current table a makeover🥰! I did have a question for you, though: could you also use a roller instead of a brush? Or will that ruin the finish?
You all prolly dont care at all but does anyone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Jefferson Marshall i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hi Queen! I’m planning on doing this with my dining room table which looks exactly like yours prior to the update. I know you mentioned different sanders to buy in any of those stores, but which one did you use? I’ve never used one before, I’m unaware if it needs to have something in specific. I appreciate the help and thank you for this great video!
I am getting ready to paint almost this same table! Mine is oval but same legs and chairs almost! I’ve been concerned over the center leafs and also the fact the top isn’t wood! I am so relieved I stumbled across this video! THANK YOU for sharing! It turned out beautiful and you have given me the confidence I needed!
I was gonna trash my table because it’s had a fair share of dings and scratches and then I ran across this video. I will definitely be keep my table and giving it a makeover . Your table turned out BEAUTIFUL. Thank you
You've inspired me... I'm going to do the same to my table. I'm curious how the table has held up since you've painted it. The table I'm painting is only used about 3 x's a week. Thank you,
Alex Carrasco-Cabrera my tables doing great and it is solid ❤️ just be sure to Allow each coat of paint to dry fully and seal it properly. Sealing the diy chalk paint is what will make your table last.
As an “about to DIY the my freshly bought antique furniture set” wondering why chalk paint vs high gloss lacquer paint, is chalk paint holding up longer or is it a solely visual preference or cost effective painting solution
If done correctly it will hold up very well hun, some do it just for a decorative look but I do it so my pieces can actually be used regular without chipping not just the look of it. If you would like a comparison between decorative chalk paint items i have bought and my chalk paint items I can post a video no problem =)
Queenii!!!! I miss you 😘 your one of my favorite TH-camrs like I’ve been with you for years and you never changed always engaging very sweet also humble. Much love ❤️ 🤗💪🏽. Oh even if you use chalk paint you still have to sand? Good thing this video came on time. I’m revamping an tv stand orders these pretty silver handles. That you i would of messed up. Awwwww look at Lucy sticking by her mommy so cute . 😍 That looks great the color is just right. My goodness I would of put that chalk paint on and messed up so glade I saw this. Oh yes I needed this video I have to go buy some more things.
LifeWithQueenii So it will be fine to just paint it? The TV stand I have is dark like your table I want a grey color. So do I put the chalk paint on and once dry put the sealer on?
Very beautiful! The color works much better now. What color paint did you use? I’m getting the courage up to try a big furniture paint project. When I was painting a room, my St. Bernard decided to walk through the paint tray... 😱😂😂 Pets are always trying to “help!”
Beautiful table, love it! I’m going to do my dining table like this, different color. I love your runner, is it a satin fabric? I want to do my chairs with fabric like that. Thanks for sharing.

That table runner would cost more than $20. Long/custom runners very $$. Good work.
Beautiful transformation of this table and great job of explaining the detailed instructions! Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Wow! Making your own chalk paint...I was today years old when I learned this.
When I tell you that I love you and both of your channels! You’re one of the few people I enjoy watching. All of your diy projects come out awesome.

Thanks for the tips, your dog is hilarious.
Yes I have the sander from Walmart! Works so well. I'm considering doing the girls dressers like you did for your kids.
My grandma had that that kind. Of table and grand aunt too.. Nice to restore.

What color is this please?
I love how your table turned out. Gives me ideas because I have this exact table. My chairs are different though.
“Cold and cold” just my same thought about it. Beautiful table.
Mine too
Great job! And thats for sharing how to make our own chalk paint.

Wow Queenii another satisfying redo! In the future, what do you think about doing a diy bench seat for the other side of the table.
Gorgeous table runner!
Pretty. What was the name of the color? Didn’t see it in the description box as indicated.
Beautiful! Great job!
Thank you for showing us the entire table especially underneath.
Thank you! Beautiful, and I’m going to try your paint technique.
Amazing job... I could watch for hours

Thanks for the advice on diy chalk paint. Wanted to ask you, did you sand the legs or just top? And is it necessary to sand before using chalk paint?
I agree with everything you shared! I love homemade chalk paint. Beautiful results. Well done! Cathryn
