This was very helpful. I am thinking of flipping my dinning table. Just ordered the Bosch sander. What kind of sanding discs should I get. And what grid for sanding, please advice. 🙏🙏🙏
Omg, where were you last year? I had this exact dining room table style.I loved it,the wife wanted to replace it. We ended up donating it to habitats for humanity restore. Anyway, loved what you did to this furniture. Have to show wife this video. I do miss my dining room set!
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
Absolutely love this! I did the very same thing to my dining table and it came out fabulous. You are amazing. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
I am refurnishing a Biedermeyer Sofa with two chairs and a table , I am reupölstering with siver grey and I am going to try this on the wood work, thank you so mich for the help, big hug.
Hi Christina, this just rocked my socks off. What a beauty! Thank you again for all your tips and sharing your knowledge. As a side note, my husband yelled this out a short while ago, "that woman should consider making a de-stress and calming app with her voice, she'd make a ton of money"... just thought I should share the compliment with you! See you next week.
Indeed, She does. Not only explaining but working. Love this tutorial. I plan for a coffee table or library, they are "new" I just want to make clear any of them but, I dont have the machine to strip the glaze out The library is pine, do you think the result could be good just painting and washing? Thank you very much from Spain.🌼🎊🌅
I have oak hardwood flooring. I am fairly certain it is solid oak rather than veneer. Previous owners applied wall to wall carpeting. When I removed the carpeting, the carpet padding had adhered to the floorboards. Most of the old varnish had liquified and pooled. What a nasty filthy clean up chore! Given the degree of ugly stains, a complete wood restoration is beyond my means and doubtful that even a skilled technician can fully restore the flooring. I've been considering paint. I watched an Annie Sloan video of creating a limed oak look and I fell in love. My hardwood retains a honey oak color although it is essentially bare wood. But the sea is my spirit totem and so I want to achieve a sun bleached driftwood look. And so I was riveted with your table process and results. Absolutely beautiful and precisely the look I want! I think I can even blur the darker stains with a judicious use of paint. My worry is whether the products you name are durable enough for flooring. If so, can you recommend alternatives? Should I go to a local paint specialist and ask for color matched products that are formulated for flooring? Would you change anything in your technique for painting a floor? Thank you very much.
Grazie!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🎨🙏
A total stunner! Fab-u-lous! With a little bit of time and patience; we can get that Restoration Hardware look and beyond!!! Thank you Christina! You are so appreciated!! Stay safe and Stay Encouraged!!!
Hi CPR!! Yes you can!!! The color wash is an easy technique that can give a dramatic effect!! Thank you so much for your encouragement so greatly appreciated!!! ❤️🎨🙏
Okay… you showing us your dogs and talking to them was a huge bonus. They are indeed cute! 🥰 This was the perfect instructional video for me today. I can never seem to lightly sand a previously painted piece, and instead compulsively sand down to the bare wood. At the moment I have four (almost) pieces I’ve stripped/sanded to bare wood. (No small amount of work.) And now… after all that, and because the wood used in their construction is consistent, I am loathe to cover it up. So paint washing has been on my mind. This tutorial is so great! I’ve watched other videos of yours, and all of them leave me grateful to you for sharing your expertise. I will be clicking on your Amazon site. Thanks so much! Grateful in Vancouver.
I have been going backwards to see what you have done. I refinished furniture and antiques for 25 years. ( I was 10 ) I love wood. One piece took me 3 years off and on. It was a huge buffet. It had 4 sets of pillars. It came from a home in South Carolina. But had been stored in a barn for I don't know how many years. I worked on part of it at my home and the other half in the owners garage. I had a lot of cleaning out and sanding with small tools. It is the gem I did for my life. It was oak. I love oak. I just can't wrap my head around chalk painting and all the different coats to the table. I have chalk painted a couple small tables. But I just couldn't get myself to do it to a dinning room table. I am chicken.!! LOL I enjoyed watching and I will see what else I can do. Thanks Joyce
Relaxing to watch. I really like the way you did the legs because they had a concrete vibe in the end. And your floor ahead with all of the different wood planks did me a great idea for my hundred-year-old wood flooring in my house that I'd like to expose
I just chalk painted my kitchen table and wanted to still be able to see the grain in the top of it, but the table had a white looking bleached out look on several places on the table top. This will work out beautifully. Thank you for this video, it will be good as new again. Love love love the view❤️❤️❤️
Hi Katie!! Give it a whirl it's a great technique!! You do such awesome mid modern looks and designs! I bet you will knock it out of the park!!!! ❤️❤️❤️🎨🙏
I just adore you!! I'm going to tackle a gate leg table with the techniques you have so graciously shared! Every time I hear you say "It's no problem at all" I breakout in a smile...it gives me comfort and courage to keep spreading my wings on this new creative journey. Thank YOU for all you do and share ❤
Great transformation. I have some vintage furniture that needs it a new look. I love your views so beautiful and the beautiful hummingbirds. Thank you 🌷
Spectacular Christina, this table is the hit, you gave us the chance to see the metamorphosis you made showing and sharing this surface changes through each careful step by step. What a high end you got!
You make me feel confident on what I am doing with my pieces of furnture. I knew I liked painting, but with your instructions and wonderful tips, I LOVE PAINTING SO MUCH MORE NOW.
OMG, I wasn't expecting to see a Black Poodle that looks just like ours! Glad he/she is comfy and spoiled, as it should be! Your dog looks much neater than ours. Our Quincy is in dire need of a haircut after this Winter. I have furniture to paint, but he really needs a haircut, and I'm his hairdresser...Thanks for sharing!
I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your calm and soothing voice. It helps me focus on the task at hand and its such a nice refreshing change from many "high strung chatty kathys" out there. Plus, it turned out gorgeous!
I have a coffee table and end table, I’m going to try this technique on both. I’ll probably need to watch your video a few times while working on the project.
