@@bhavsarvacha well, they wouldn't have to fight for their survival if Suleiman had abolished the law of fratricide.
He keeps on saying that he dreads the possibility of one of his sons killing his brothers for the throne and he does nothing to prevent it.
I mean what was he expecting? That all of his sons, except from the most competent and obedient one will magically die so that the only survivor won't have to kill them himself?

SULTAN BAYEZIED III TRUE LION
Shezade Selim II is and will stay always a shezade slayer, he give the order to execute his brother and his nephews when Nurbanu Sultan give the order to kill her sister in law and her nephews stayed in Bayezid's palace. Finally i concluded that Selim and Nurbanu massacred a half of the Ottoman Dynasty without the knowledge of Sultan Suleyman and i concluded too that Selim and Nurbanu lived with their crimes in their own cconsciences during their entire life. Obviously in the Ottomans never protected mutually each other, They all consider themselves not even a family but more like a clan with chess pieces to get rid of when they are no longer useful.

I'd rather die at the hands of an enemy that I hate(d) most. To die the way Bayezid did is simply a cursed thing. I wonder how Selim (or any other Sultans/sehzades before and after him) could lie down and sleep at night after killing his own brother and nephews. Surely, they must've had some sort of nightmares?
