She does look purrty in a sari. Plesently surprised ❤
Jessica is a wonderful teacher. She teaches all of us how to explore other cultures. Well done 👍💯
Thank you :)
The food becomes 10x better when all are eating together.😋
So true 😅
Yes,you look a lot better when the sari suit you!
The food looks amazing and it's great to see the South Indian community in the US keeping the tradition alive. ❤
Absolutely!!
Lots of love to Jessica from India 💕Absolutely admire the way you explore foreign cuisines & culture too 🫶🏼
Thank you so much!!
Honestly speaking, im fascinated by the way the Alfonsos blend in and dig in completely like true South Indian- Kerala way. Mesmerizing authentic banana leaf treat! Happy Onam Alfonsos😊
She's just being polite.
Girl you look gorgeous ! I love that colour on you, the food looks absolutely delicious 🥰
Thank you so much 🤗
❤😊❤
Lots of love from Kerala ❤ happy onam 🎉❤🎉❤
Jessica, Alfonso, and Little Alfonso thanks for joining the festival and love for our Indian brothers and sisters for showing our lovely Indian culture, one more thing Jessica you should also go to an upcoming festival named Navratri and specifically look for Gujarati community near you or ask Sara and other people in this party they will let you know and buy a special dress for that festival and participate in the dance called Garba which goes on for nine days in the evening, I bet you will enjoy that too as you have enjoyed lovely Onam.
This total Vegetarian food pack is a complete celebration in itself. ❤😅
You are looking gorgeous!! And that bindi really suits you 😊
Truly freaked out in the way you enjoyed the 'KERALA SAADYA' .... at the India Malayalee forum in the US.
Wow! Look at them run around in the back ground, happily serving food! Indian community is amazing! :D
Yes they are!
Started following you when you had a hand full of subscribers and now I'm feeling so good about myself. Your videos are wholesome
Not to mention ... it was truly wonderful to see you enjoy wearing the traditional Indian Saree.
The dish on your top right was a dish made with Cauliflower and the one next to it was 'AVIAL' --- a mixed vegetable dish with cocounut milk.
Avial is seldom made with coconut milk, most of them have shredded coconut.
Eating with the right hand and never touching the fingers with the mouth while eating keeps the food pure and it's the most divine way of honoring it❤
"never touching the fingers with the mouth"? Does touching the fingers with the food keep the food pure? Indian logic makes no sense. Why don't you become civilised?
Does touching the fork or the spoon with the mouth mean being civilized?
@@bluelotus542 using cutlery, rather than fingers or bare hands is definitely more civilised, especially in a formal and polite setting.
This Is a stereotyped opinionated assumption.
Hands are a great asset, but they must be clean, especially the right One.
Did the little Alphonso enjoyed the food? Would like to see him dressed in Kurta pyjama and with tilak! Yes indian South food is amazing and eaten traditional way. Each State of india has its own flavours depending on what's locally grown/ cultivated there. As indians we get to eat Lots of variety of foods. Each food has its climate bearing capacity. South and West like Maharashtra has coconut based cooking along with fish etc as the sea is near. Then in Rajasthan the food has spice, Gujarat too has different flavours and food here is sweet spicy and oily( it's dry city so eating oil is necessary to keep metabolism fit.)
Such is our Unique Bharat🇮🇳🙏 Unity in diversity!!!
Little alfonso loves indian food :)

Indian was once number one Wealthy Rich country along with scientific innovations and technology. The Arabs , The Britishers,The French ,The Portuguese all looted , and terrorised us. Yet indians have survived and now is world number 5 th democracy. India has lot to offer to the world. The Lord himself has Blessed this land called Bharat. The more you know about Sanatan Dharma the more you will be attracted towards it. India has a very distinct way of life.Indians never force anyone to convert themselves to our culture or ways. Our system of life is Positive, Organic, and natural. There is a place for everyone.
Sanatan Dharma believes in Humanity and in one world as one Big family. It teaches to live in Peace Harmony and in joint families, where children are raise naturally to respect their surroundings and value all that is on Earth. Some defects have come up , due to the British rule and irregularities in the past Governments. But still India is doing well because of its rich cultural heritage.
The more you study India, the more likely you will be drawn to Indian. You will rise in love with India.
Bharat mata ki Jai!🙏🏻❤️🇮🇳❤️🙏🏻(Salutation to mother india)
OMG mango pickle (red one) with rice and ghee - thats heaven!

Thank you our Indian community🎉🎉🎉
I think you were purely Indian the last birth Jessica😅.... Really loved the way you are excited for Indian food and especially Kerala Onam's food... Thank you. Do more Indian content....
Thank you so much 😀
The dish called PATCHA MORE (buttermilk, salt, onion with chilles and curry leaves) is a little sour Buttermilk that is usually served on hands scooped up and is usually a palate cleanser. THORAN is a mixed vegetable dish.
Sadya is delicious and nutritious ❤
We agree!

Literally drooling from 8th minute onwards.. 😍❤️😘 The way you enjoyed the sadya was priceless. Thanks for the lovely video. 😊🙏😊 Love from Kerala. ❤️🙏 Someday you should visit here. 😊
This looks great! I'm happy you got to experience this! One thing I found weird though is that they served the sambhar on the side?! I mean, nothing wrong with it culturally but at least in our home we make a huge deal out of making a sort of hole in the mound of rice and pouring sambhar into the hole ...you know, because sambhar can be a kind of watery dish and you don't want it to run off your banana leaf. This wouldn't be an issue if we were eating on a plate but with a banana leaf...If it was me...I would be feeling so anxious about sambhar mixing with the banana chips and spilling on to the table, lol! Next time you get a chance to have a sadhya, make a hole in the rice beforehand and insist on getting the sambhar in it, you will have a much cleaner and more relaxed experience.
Edit: Ok, just saw the kacchiya moru and pacha moru spilling all over....with these as well, you could make more holes in the rice or....at least with the pacha moru, we sometimes just cup the right hand over the rice and have them pour it directly into the hand. So you can drink it and only a little of it falls into the rice and doesn't become a mess. Honestly though, this is an advanced maneuver and its probably better to ask them for a paper cup or something...
But most of all, you should probably have a little more rice so that you have enough rice to dam in all the flowy curries, lol! Besides, don't you know the story of Onam? Kerala once had a great wise and benevolent asura (equivalent to a demon) king called Mahabali, who was so amazing that everyone under his rule lived in prosperity. There was no corruption, no stealing or cheating...infact he was so popular, the devas (minor gods) grew jealous of him and petitioned one of the supreme gods to take care of the matter. So the god of preservation, Vishnu takes on the form of a young brahmin boy and goes to meet the demon king. The king asks him what the boy wants and he says I want enough land to take 3 steps and being the kind benevolent king he is, he agrees. But as soon as that happens, the god transforms into a giant and with one step of his giant feet measures the entire length of the earth under Mahabalis rule and with the next step he measures the entire length of the heavens under the kings rule. Then he asks Mahabali where he could put his next step, as Mahabali didn't have any more land to give...and the king who realises that he is up against a major god, offers up his own head as the last place the god can step on. And the god does, sending him straight to pataal (the underworld/netherworld) but the god is also pleased with the kings selflessness and decides to bless him and asks for any wish he may want. And Mahabali, the great king he is, asks only to be allowed to visit his subjects once a year during Onam to see how they are doing. And wish granted...Needless to say, everything went to shit when the demon king left...And all these celebrations, the new clothes, the extravagant sadyas, all this excess...everything is done to pretend that we are happy and prosperous so that when our beloved demon king comes to visit us, he doesn't have to go through the heartbreak of what really happened to his subjects since he left....so yeah...eat more rice! its good to indulge a little on Onam so that king Mahaballi may return to the underworld in peace and doesn't have to worry about us.
Welcome to Bharath. We treat our guest as God🙏🙏🙏🇮🇳
there's 2 types of payasam, semiya and ada, i think thats the ada payasam.. but the north has the best desserts... you should also check out halawa (orange type and black), yah go easy on the pickle, its packed with flavor, like too much (just like adding too much salt).
This is not only a kerala dish..in whole South India... this is our tradition.. mainly its followed in Tamilnadu,Karnataka,Kerala,Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.. am very much proud you ate South Indian dishes😋
Yes but sadya dish is Kerala origin
You are enjoying to eat Indian food and how should you love the recipe, Onam is the festival of South Indian but we celebrate all over India 🎉❤
Pls show your husband also....seems like very gentle person... Love to see the full family ✌️

Thank you! :)
Looks gorgeous and your adoptability with the region and people is amazing... congrats.
Thank you so much!
i luv the way u say papadum ♥️
Glad to see you enjoy traditional southindian food from Kerala. Eating with hands is the best thing , which most of the Indians follow , it has scientific reason to it . Our fingers have nerves connected to our brain, so when we eat with our hand , it helps us to secrete digestive juices in stomach which helps in proper digestion as per Ayurveda.Ghee or clarified butter is must in en5ire Indian foods , which h3lps in greasing our untestine and free flows of food and of course it adds a different aroma and flavor to food. Pickle is supposed to be eaten in small bires as side appetizers. Liked the way you gelled into the traditional style of Onam celebrations
Thanks for making these beautiful videos!
We really appreciate your support :)
You are eating the best food in the world
Thiruvonam/Sraavanam
Onam is the biggest festival of Kerala after Vishu festival.
Kerala is an ancient geographical region in Great India, lies between western ghats and indian ocean starting from south gujarat to kannyakumari. Keralam literally means Land of Coconuts.
Onam commemorates the win of Dharma (Righteousness) over Adharma.
May lord Vishnu bless you all.❤
Thank you and thank you for watching our channel :).

Thank you so much!
Onam is a festival of love....
5:29 - Man... scrumptious...🤤
Devine part is - Vegetarian meal..👌
The brown lentil dish you tried is a typical curry that goes with 'PUTTU' --- a rice dish made in Glass or Bamboo Stem.
The YELLOW DAL you had for a starter is made from Lentil called MUNG or MOONG. Usually a very simple dal dish. 'SAMBAR', is usually made from lentil called 'ARHAR' or 'TOOAR' and has a lot of vegetables in it....
Puttu can either be Of Rice, wheat or Millet. Also it is rarely Made using Glass, mostly Aluminium "Puttu kuzhil" or Bamboo
Wonderful food Jessica must have had a good time, enjoy
Yes, thank you
