On my arrival weekend I got immediately invited to a housewarming ceremony in Mysore. With learning how to bless and eating the delicious food I recieved my first taste of Indian culture as a Dutch tourist.
#india #mysore #karnataka #puja #housewarming #tourist #southindia #mysorevlog #mysuru
Mysore is the epitome of Kannada culture, it is a place like no other in India, enjoy.
Yes, I feel very lucky this place is my first interaction with Indian culture. Also very much appreciating the relative calmness :p
In India every state is unique
I just drove all around mysuru and had f
Indian places are same by heart, Mysore is no exception
@@stubborn176 I dont think so, a lot of parameters like safety, infrastructure, politeness of people, culture, sellers heckling foreign tourists etc vary across Indian cities. All these things make a city unique. Mysore is an exception, on good things.
Kannadigas are one among humble people in India. Jai Karnataka 💛❤️.
Enjoy ❤
It's really refreshing to experience the opennes and humbleness on the streets compared to European countries.
Wishing you a great time in mysuru ,do visit Bengaluru as well✨My state is like no other!! It is truly beautiful
I never understand why the foreigners who come to India are always so amazed by how green it is? I mean what were you expecting when u decided to travel to a tropical country? 😮
A lot of Hollywood propaganda shows India like some middle eastern desert. So westerners in general have an idea that India is something like the middle east. Because most of the media talks about Asia centres around the middle east or south east asia
no one go to wikipedia and see the country sea level like is it a desert or himalayas or tropical or something they are coming and exiting because the types of trees in india is nit at all in america like palm trees and big banana and so on try to see in way that he feels secure and well after seeing comments have some sense
Why are you people so offended by everything??? So when you travel to other countries will you know everything about it ??
Be warm and welcoming not grumpy old pots!

As someone whos lived in Bangalore all my life have to agree that Mysore is beautiful, calm and is a perfect blend of everything u want .
Wow, the guy was so kind and helpful! Very fluent in English as well. Really seemed like an amazing person.
Yes, he's an amazing host and can highly recommend his place and hospitatily for other tourists that come for yoga :)
More people speak English in India than USA and Canada put together
Welcome to heritage city mysore ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ನಗರ ಮೈಸೂರಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತ 💛❤️
A wonderful gesture from Pradeep introducing to the taste of south indian cuisine in a traditional way

Very few people talk here politely rest just give you looks. I love my country and my people, miss my homeland😭 ;will be back soon after my studies❤ these people are really racist especially towards south indians, i am north Indian but I have seen my south friends getting bad comments and looks

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT BEING A HINDU (Sanatana Dharma)?
Written by Indian Journalist having French roots - François Gautier
1) Believe in God ! - Aastik - Accepted
2) Don't believe in God ! - You're accepted as Nastik
3) You want to worship idols - please go ahead. You are a murti pujak.
4) You dont want to worship idols - no problem. You can focus on Nirguna Brahman-shapeless, formless ,infinite, without beginning or end(nirvikalpa brahama)
5) You want to criticise something in our religion. Come forward. We are logical. Nyaya, Tarka etc. are core Hindu schools.
6) You want to accept beliefs as it is. Most welcome. Please go ahead with it.
7) You want to start your journey by reading Bhagvad Gita - Sure !
8) You want to start your journey by reading Upanishads - Go ahead.
9) You want to start your journey by reading Purana - Be my guest.
10) You just don't like reading Puranas or other books. No problem my dear. Go by Bhakti tradition . ( bhakti- devotion)
11) You don't like idea of Bhakti ! No problem. Do your Karma. Be a karmayogi.
12) You want to enjoy life. Very good. No problem at all. This is Charvaka Philosophy.
13) You want to abstain from all the enjoyment of life & find God - jai ho ! Be a Sadhu, an ascetic !
14) You don't like the concept of God. You believe in Nature only - Welcome. (Trees are our friends and Prakriti or nature is worthy of worship).
15) You believe in one God or Supreme Energy. Superb! Follow Advaita philosophy
16) You want a Guru. Go ahead. Receive gyaan.(gyan yoga)
17) You don't want a Guru.. Help yourself ! Meditate, Study !(still gyana or raj yoga)
18) You believe in Female energy ! Shakti is worshipped.
19) You believe that every human being is equal. Yeah! You're awesome, come on let's celebrate Hinduism!
"Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" (the world is a family)
20) You don't have time to celebrate the festival.
Don't worry. One more festival is coming! There are multiple festivals every single day of the year.
21) You are a working person. Don't have time for religion. Its okay. You will still be a Hindu.
22) You like to go to temples. Devotion is loved.
23) You don't like to go to temples - no problem. You are still a Hindu!
24) You know that Hinduism ☺ is a way of life, with considerable freedom.
25) You believe that everything has God in it. So you worship your mother, father, guru, tree, River, Prani-matra, Earth, Universe!
26) And If you don't believe that everything has GOD in it - No problems. Respect your viewpoint.
27) "Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu " (May you all live happily)
You represent this! You're free to choose, my dear Hindu!
This is exactly the essence of Hinduism, all inclusive .. That is why it has withstood the test of time inspite of repeated onslaught both from within and outside, and assimilated every good aspects from everything . That is why it is eternal !!!
There is a saying in Rigveda, the first book ever known to mankind which depicts the Hinduism philosophy in a Nutshell - "Ano Bhadrah Krathavo Yanthu Vishwathah "- Let the knowledge come to us from every direction"
👍💕
Hahaha this was really nice to read, thanks!
Very intelligent and comprehensive analysis.
The great Rishis, Acharyas who gave their entire lifes to contribute to Sanathana Dharma what you call Hinduism had lead strict lifestyles as per the Shruti and Smriti texts of their predecessors. They were definitely more devoted to Dharma in every aspect of life than todays' "Hindus in name only". Hinduism is not ruleless religion as modern day politically motivated Hinos portray it to be.
@@chiragk7399its depend on person. I believe this thing an feel this. You need to understand that you can not change / make perfect in society we can injoy and live like we want and for Hinduism no matter what but thy are not going to harm like others if they do that believe or not we are capable to stop them. But I don't think other can do this. Also noone can deny that we have most freedom then other some problem have everywhere but thy never force anyone to execpt or leave.
Politics is every where its how much its effect your mind & life it's depend on us & Setuation
Welcome to India broo.....
really appreciate the fact that u chose to visit southern india, most people who visit usually like to experience the "textbook india",and when they land up in delhi or mumbai they say the place is chaotic, very few people choose to visit southern ,but i must say it something u wud never have expected india to look like ,u will surely love the quiet and more relaxed life in mysore ,i advice u check out coorg as well .And on ur next visit try visiting the north eastern states, because it will just blow ur mind.enjoy ur stay.

It’s wonderful that you chose to come down to India. It would have been good had he explained to you the significance and also showed you what to do while you pray. It’s also customary for someone to serve you the food( Prasadam) that’s blessed . Maybe he did but not captured on camera. Hope you had a great experience and carry back awesome memories of your stay. Thanks for sharing your experience.

The trees that look like palm are actually either coconut trees or areca nut trees. Palm trees are very rare.

These are great tips, thanks? All noted down ;)
Pradeep is India.
One suggestion is to use the proper speaker device
Hindu is not a religion...
Its part of Dharmic traditions
Dharmic traditions are different from Religious traditions..
Dharmic Traditions( Hindu,Buddha,Jain,Sikh)
Dharma includes both Dvaita (Duality) & Advaita (Non Duality)
Religion includes only Dvaita(Duality)
Dharma includes both believers & atheists ...
Good luck
Love the way you respect culture my suggestion is for you for your TH-cam just add some cinematic b rolls and improve some camera handling lil bit up your camera can give u better view all the best❤

Please try to visit the Northern tricity of Chandigarh-Panchkula-Mohali, it's capital of two states and a union territory also.
It was India's first planned city although plans and planning doesn't show much after so many decades now, but atleast we take comfort in the fact that original intentions were right. ....
Modern India's planned city*

It is good to watch Hindus praising their culture under the government like congress 😢

Hahaha isn't the internet amazing!? :p
Why dont you take me with you 😢😢😢😢
They are coconut trees ..not palm trees ..these palm trees grow only in arid areas
Haha yes, I understand by now ;)
there are no palm trees, only coconut trees
A good video and as you said it must have been a good learning experience.
It was nice to watch you performing a puja (offering to god) and If I am permitted to tell this, we Indian never use left hand especially for eating purpose. You took theertha (a spoonful of liquid offer to god) by left hand.
Reason behind non-use of left hand is that itz unhygienic, that's all.
Haha, thanks for pointing that out. Will definitely keep in mind for next puja's. I've been trained how to properly use my hands a few day's ago when I got invited to another random thali while walking on the streets :p
@@yours2source One more thing you must do in Mysore.
Check out original mysore pak, the sweet invented at palace long ago. Available near Clock Tower in palace area.

Hello friend, Welcome to Mysore 👍.
May I know what kind of spirituality you advocate? In your motto "discovering.....source...", by "source" do you mean God? Why do you believe a source exists? I've heard some teachers say a man can discover his authentic self and deeper purpose (and thereby attain peace) by simply following morals like love, compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, etc. and by not necessarily believing in a God/Source. The root of sorrow and confusion in life is materialism. By embracing spiritualism (not necessarily God), you can be liberated. What is your opinion?
