Great tip. I was running it in practice with flats from backfield so I would love the safetys outside and that killed that. But if I got route a slant in slot I could hit it before the blitz

ive been running mid blitz like this since last year. I always line up on the tackle same side of the rb and you really just have to get good at reading whether hes in pass protection or if hes running a route once the ball is snapped. if hes staying in to protect engage that tackle and that end will fly every time. good defense to mix in if youre running zone shells out of this formation too.
Great job E, I totally agree with blitzing 7 with the press. The zones suck so bad. My college defensive coordinator used to always say, "when in doubt, send pressure."

Yes Johnny M is right . Stretch plays will destroy this without proper set up . It will stop the run if you line EACH DB to the INSIDE of each receiver. They will blockshed easily.. if the 1st one doesn't 2nd will .. however you HAVE to line the user FS in position as previously stated and when you notice the handoff blow up the middle or you will get burned even by a fb dive if your not careful.. good post , old scheme and this is the correction. If only we had create a play, you do the play from part one, but it is a proper cover 2 with the same blitz
With the new adjustments this year you can set this up as a cover 2 blitz. I run this blitz but with a cover two invert behind it (outside corners in deep blues, slot corner and strong safety in flats, free safety in the middle). It's almost every time until they catch on.
Mid blitz 0 blitz works way better but only if you bring the safeties down. If you leave the safeties up there it’s short passes for days and outside runs for days
Cool video. I've been running this and a couple of other blitzes since the game dropped. I prefer using it with a team that has depth and speed at CB position like raiders. Then swap out the safeties for faster corners, it's been killing folks
Literally ran this scheme last year. I mix the cover 1 and QB spy the worst DT. I honestly stopped running it and yet have to run it much this year. They told me my defense was to cheesy for every league I played in. BUT john Gruden admitted that the , MY Bengals created this defense and now everyone is running it in the NFL. This defense worked so good inside the 34-40 yard line in 17 .

Josh Burrell how? Someone on the end would already be in the backfield to hit him... Plus if they're playing Press; they're on the line and can make that read and adjust since most WR aren't going to be good impact blockers
If people come out in 4 or 5 wide sets in general and you not blitzing do you always base align and press? Or what are your adjustments

Ok ... there is a way easier way to do this . You can user fs , then line up in the normal mlb position behind the two lbs... line up between then hold right trigger . Pause for a sec when is snapped then manually cover assignment. About 60% of the time it be either "A" gap pressure or double edge and still have all assignments covered

+john coaston here's the thing with blitzes. You mix them in to catch people off guard. You don't run them all game.

But what if I jump the route over the middle with my user? Or what if I switch it up and do all out coverage? You never know what I'm going to do, that's where execution comes into play.

This isn't as good as advertised. It is good for an average or below player that doesn't know how to adjust. Notice this is a 3 wide set with TE spread. If this was a 3 WR set with a blocking tight end it's shutdown. Additionally, the bump doesn't last long enough. You can send the outside receivers on streaks and just lob it deep. What we really need is an A gap blitz. I'm ten years out of Madden but I'll figure this all out again.
+The TGhost27 it's good when mixed in. It shouldn't be ran as an every down D. Most people aren't going to block 7. The bump lasts long rough for the CBs to hold off a streak, esp if you have good CBs.

Oh and one more thing ... motion slants will kill it 99% of the time lol . If you play skilled players you'll be screwed 🤦♂️

im sorry, this is a bad tip. never do this on defense, the risk is too high, you will give up a 1 play TD, slant and drag will beat this all day
