Wow! Amazing story and testimony of how the Lord has been with you throughout. So encouraged by your constant faith through the waiting. What a sweet sweet gift Highland is!
Courtney and Josh! Wow! What an amazing birth story where God's provision, peace and strength are so evident! The Husband and wife teamwork is so inspiring and your midwives confidence and presence was a true gift to your labor and delivery. I praise God that He was with you then and now, through the pain, hunger, restlessness and in the post-the recovery. God knows what each of us needs when we need it, and because you entrusted Him with the details He brought you through!! I love that you mentioned that it is uncommon for this outcome to happen in a homebirth setting, and yet you persevered and stuck through it as your team reassured you that this IS what you want and need even when it sure did not FEEL like that in the moment. You believed in God's workmanship and new that if He made you, brought you to it then He would bring you through it; what incredible faith and resilience that will empower you in your motherhood journey! I feel like there are so many comparisons to be made with the gospel and our struggles that we face while we are in the flesh. God is there. He never leaves us. He constantly assures us of the promises and the eternity that is to come, and sometimes it is easy to believe that and then other times when life brings challenges we tend to forget that we can still produce all the fruit of the spirit-- Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control no matter what season we might be in; that is why God surrounds us with community, the Church, family and friends to remind us and support us as we keep each other accountable. Love you Courtney, and it's going to be such a joy to witness precious Highland growing up in our church and serving the Lord alongside her Mama and Papa!!
Wow, Court! So happy you got the home birth that you wanted 💕And hooray for amazing midwives!! I swear they are the most magical, talented humans! Thanks for sharing your story - you're incredible!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Praise Jesus you’re healthy and your precious daughter is here! Praying blessings and Gods hands over your future🙏🏻
Wow you are just incredible Courtney. I don’t know if you’ve heard it enough so I just had to say it. Like wowwwww holy shit. Having an unmedicated home birth after all that time you labored is so inspiring. Two questions I have. Would you do it again at home? I feel like your video didn’t talk about the pain much and I’m wondering how you would describe it.
Thank you!! Thanks for being here and tuning in! It was CRAZY painful. I took a course called pain free birth, and while it was so helpful, I would definitely say it was the most painful experience of my life 🤣but obviously it was liveable bc I was able to get through it! As far as doing it again, I truly can’t imagine giving birth in a hospital after having the comfort of water & my home. But at the same time right now, having just gone through that, I’m not ready to say I’m ready to do it again 🤪🤷🏼♀️ still processing and healing from this. But I feel like I’m a couple years time, I would want to do it again 👌🏼💪🏼
Yes yes YES welcome sweet little Highland! Praise God for your little girl and praise Him for giving you swift and solid midwives who were right on top of your scary situation. They were amazing. I'm just so thrilled for you, Court. I am thousands of miles from you, but I know you are rocking it as a mama. It brings me joy all the way over here to know that your little bunny is being raised by two parents who are whole-heartedly devoted to Jesus. Plus she is just stinking cute! This will sound wacky coming from someone who has only known you via the internet, but from one mom to another, is there anything I can do to help you guys out as you settle in as a family of three? Venmo for groceries or a registry item you never received? Please let me know. Ahhh! So happy.
You are amazing Rachel!! Thank you so so much! Your thoughts, prayers and encouragement mean the world!! You are so sweet!! You don’t have to do anything the thought alone is so appreciated 🙌🏼❤️
Wow court! That’s very intense, but also so incredible. God was watching over you and highland. And wow, your husband did an amazing job staying by your side the whole way through. I am sorry for the hard and painful parts, and the scary part. So thankful your healthy and strong and that highland is healthy. I love her name, that’s my favorite hillsong song. I will continue to lift you and Josh and highland up in prayer. Your a huge inspiration to me in so many ways. In consistency with time with God, and also working out. Your super awesome girl and your an amazing mom. Let me know if you need anything. Venmo for Starbucks (: or groceries or even some things for highland. Just let me know. Wanna be there for you guys.
Jenelle you are amazing!! Thank you for the sweet words! I'm so glad you love her name too! So special to us! That means so much! you're so sweet!! We love and appreciate that so much! xo
I know!! I was so happy about that! Here are some things I did leading up to labor & delivery, and then during pushing I think the water & different positions helped a lot!! bit.ly/3ePko3K
Wait wait wait. Your midwife bit a chunk out of your placenta and put it in your mouth and that made you come to!? Or do I misunderstand that!? How did that work? What a baddie!!!
HAHAH I know right?! So it's been shown to be a natural remedy! Check it out: "Midwives are increasingly using placental fragments for hemorrhage control both before and after the birth of the placenta and are finding it works immediately. For third-stage hemorrhage, putting a bit of membrane in the mother’s mouth or having her suck on the cord are recommended (Tritten 2010/2011). Postpartum hemorrhage has been controlled by using a small quarter-size piece of placenta placed in the mother’s cheek or chewed by the mother first and then held between her cheek and gum (Frye 2004; Williams and Knight 2014). The hormones, such as oxytocin, and blood-clotting factors, such as fibrinogen, are absorbed through the mucous membranes to facilitate the clamping down of the uterus, which helps stop blood flow (Scott 1998; Frye 2004). When using placenta to curb hemorrhage, it is important to ensure that the placenta is intact before removing a piece. Quickly inspect the placenta or take a picture of it before cutting a piece of it off to make sure that no pieces of the placenta are left inside (Frye 2004)." article: midwiferytoday.com/mt-articles/the-power-of-placenta/#:~:text=Midwives%20are%20increasingly%20using%20placental,(Tritten%202010%2F2011).

What an amazing midwife! 💯
I’m so glad you’re ok.
SHE IS!! she was the best!
Piece of placenta in mouth?! I need more details!
Hahaha I know! It’s apparently the first thing every midwife should do in that situation I guess! Wild right?! 🤷🏼♀️
Oh wow! Yeah ummm that’s interesting. Never heard of that happening.
What was the reason for that? I never heard of that being done
