Hi Bold Bakers! Here are the written recipes for all three drinks: bit.ly/homemadestarbucks For more Starbucks recipes, make sure to check out this playlist: th-cam.com/play/PL3N53o3RIxHKw_By1QcenoQMQVKQgVpJM.html
I manage a Starbucks and believe me I love the drinks I make but your drinks are much, much, better than ours. You are making them with tea ingredients versus our syrups. You are still amazing and I love your videos!!
Salted Caramel tips: I made the salted caramel sauce that Gemma uses in her hot cocoa and found few things that May trouble. Bold baker in making this :) When she says "the sugar will clump" you really do want to wait for it to clump. The sugar will stick to the edges of the pan and that's ok, it will melt! 2- make sure that you add some milk and a good brand of vanilla at the end AFTER the Carmel has cooled and the milk will help thin it out. 3- use a kosher or sea salt not sable salt! Thanks Gemma for your amazing videos, hopes this helps your bold bakers;))
Have you ever considered creating a phone app? So when you're in the kitchen and need to quickly double check a recipe, or if you're the store and need to double check what to get, you can quickly open an app instead of going to the website or shuffling through your notes
Hi Hannah. If you have an iPhone or iPad, I think this might help you. Open up the website and press the sign at the bottom that has like an arrow with a rectangle around it (It usually means that you want to share something), and then you should see an option that says add to homescreen (you might have to scroll a little bit). Press that, and it just turns into an app! (You can also rename it if you want). Hope this helps! :))
LOVE your videos! One question: whenever I want to make hot chocolate by melting chocolate in hot milk it doesn't get smooth and there are small flecks of chocolate still left. It ends up looking really curdled... Any tips on how to fix that?
Check if your chocolate is of a really good quality. Now a days there are few brands which make artificial chocolates which is lumpy and difficult to mix into milk or cream. But if you have good quality chocolate and still seeing curdling and lumps, try these steps. Melt your chocolate slowly and then add one tablespoon of milk while stirring continuously. Go wild and whisk that mixture like crazy. After adding 2 to 3 tbsp your chocolate mixture will become thick like a sauce. Continue adding milk until you see a no lumpy mixture. Once achieved, add more milk or cream.
hey Gemma, thanks for sharing those incredible ideas, I love Starbucks but it's far from my house so I only have it in special occasions but now with your delicious recipes I can finally make them at home and enjoy the holiday season ^^
I loved all of you recipes so much! I have a suggestion though. You can try to add the milk, chocolates, and then for the caramael, add melted butterscotch chocolates, and it tastes divine! And then, over the whipp cream add some of the butterscotch and chocolate shavings!
I tried to eat my chocolate in the pan, and then I realized that it was burning hot. (burnt my finger) Gemma, the salted caramel hot chocolate was absolutely amazing, I savored every sip. Your always making this amazing dishes, happy that there is a great cook around!
Definitely making the mint mocha someday but I kinda felt bad when you said mint extract as I can't find it as easy here but when you reminded that you have a recipe to it, I got excited. You literally have every little recipe for everything, your bold baking basics saved my life.
I am so happy to hear that. the basics are inspired by the things i first learned to do at home with my Mum. Then these are the first things you learn in college too, when training to be a chef. the foundation on which you build everything else, really :)
Oli S you put ice, a shot of espresso andre your choice of flavouring in a blender. Mix it up, add some syrup on the inside of your cup/glass, whipped cream on top and a final drizzle of syrup and voilá! Frappuchino! btw I like using cold brewed coffee instead of hot coffee :3
Oh my goodness. I think this is going to be my most favorite channel I discovered for 2017...and it's only January! LOL! Thank you for emphasizing that it is OKAY to use standard sugar and other standard ingredients as long as you use good quality. You are my hero.
As someone who is a Batista at Starbucks it's always nice to see people recreate our products :) I will for sure be taking a flask of home made Pumpkin Spice Latte to college now!
I've been avoiding coffee at home for years because my dairy-free milk always seems to curdle . . . this recipe saved my coffee loving life (and my wallet) . . . Thank you Gemma!
Gemma show us how to make nuttela in bold baking basics and show us how to make the best cake for decoration and just for Christmas and that's my only wish for Christmas show us how to make the best cake cookie and a mug cake as well as mint marshmallow scores that would be great for Christmas bcoz all these flavors and colour would just go together really good and yum . And I love Christmas
Vexillien They dont only have starbucks in USA, i live in Europe and i love Starbucks! Its not close to where i live tho, so maybe if you travel a little bit you can find a starbucks? (sorry for my English xd its not my first language)
Jimin's Thigsu Gives Me Lifeu Oh yeah, there is a Starbucks or two where I live right now, I just have never been there. I mentioned the USA because that'd where Starbucks is a big part of modern culture. I guess you could say that for some large cities around the world as well, I don't know xD I have come to live in a big city only recently but I notice that it's not as popular here and it's preeetty expensive. One day I might go and see what it's all about ;) (Np, I'm also not a native speaker :D)
Vexillien Its so worth checking out! You wont regret it ^-^ I dont like coffee but i could find something i did like. So basically theres something for everyone :3
I went to my local Starbucks today and they've finally added all the holiday drinks to their menu - and now here I am sitting at home, watching your brilliant video with a caramel hot chocolate in my hand. My next step: making your salted caramel hot chocolate xx
I can't find mint extract in any shops near me, but I've made mint hot chocolate by crushing up a small candy cane and stirring it in until it melts - works a charm!
Yes, Angela Milton, I am equally fascinated by accents, even the regional variation in a small country like Ireland is amazing! good to have you with us :)
With the risk of going out this year, and often starbucks running out of pumpkin spice lattes, this looks so easy to just make at home. I shall try this and see.
I tried hot chocolate in which I added coffee and caramel sauce it was soo tasty though I added milk chocolate because I can't eat dark chocolate so I did not add sugar and it was so perfect
❤ Great video. I can't buy pumpkin puree where i live and i am to lazy to make it myself so i buy pure pumpkin puree baby jars. They are organic, no salt no sugar and they work just fine.
I'm surely going to try the salted caramel hot chocolate, it looks so yummy! I think I'll put a little bit of corn starch in there so it gets a little thicker.
Just attempted to make your salted caramel for the first time! So difficult holding my nerve waiting for it to change colour, took quite a while but it is now cooling. Hopefully i did everything right...
What are you doing to me, Gemma? I LOVE all your tutorials! I am overwhelmed by all your delicious and easy homemade recipes! Cream Cheese, Marshmallows, Brown Sugar, No Churn Ice-creams! I absolutely love your recipies and am finding them a singe to make. Thank you for your easy to follow tutorials! Is there any recipe for making my own evaporated milk?
Thank you for your kind words Mary. Evaporated milk s made like condensed milk, except that it does not contain sugar. It is reduced to about 1/2 of it's original volume by gently simmering. Check out the condensed milk recipe here (www.biggerbolderbaking.com) :)
Thanks,Gemma! So the evaporated milk needs to simmer on med high for 45 minutes? I have an electric stove with hob knobs increments between 6 and 1. Which button should I turn the hob for medium high? I love making my own ingredients as I can save money this way!
Wow, these look so delicious! I can't wait to try the salted caramel hot chocolate, I absolutely LOVE salted caramel and chocolate together😊 Love from Holland❤
Ah! this is a problem for some people, i am sorry, we are spoiled here in the US. That is the problem for me, i never know what ingredients are difficult to find :)

Have you ever considered creating a phone app? So when you're in the kitchen and need to quickly double check a recipe, or if you're the store and need to double check what to get, you can quickly open an app instead of going to the website or shuffling through your notes
HannahCanuck why not just open the note or check on google?Because most people keep the pages on the can quickly just look
Yes, it is a consideration. But as David V says it is possible to check quickly on google. i have to think about this, thank you :)

One question: whenever I want to make hot chocolate by melting chocolate in hot milk it doesn't get smooth and there are small flecks of chocolate still left. It ends up looking really curdled... Any tips on how to fix that?
Lal3l Maybe try using a whisk and keep whisking.
Lal3l Microwave it or let them simmer till the whole chocolate melts

I recommend that you replace white sugar with brown sugar in the pumpkin spice latte if you're looking for an earthier, richer flavour.
Thank you for the suggestion and for sharing.
I made the PSL and it tasted good!! In our country the whole year is summer so no PSL is available. Finally I got to taste my dream fall drink!!

I absolutely love your recipies and am finding them a singe to make. Thank you for your easy to follow tutorials! Is there any recipe for making my own evaporated milk?

Thanks,Gemma! So the evaporated milk needs to simmer on med high for 45 minutes? I have an electric stove with hob knobs increments between 6 and 1. Which button should I turn the hob for medium high? I love making my own ingredients as I can save money this way!
