The last reading was 253F and that's when they put on the brakes, but it was too late that point. The main problem was there was a 20 mile gap between detectors which was long enough to go from warm to crash. The government should mandate more frequent detectors so this doesn't happen. I think they should require one every 5 miles. That way even if one malfunctions the gap will not be too large.
