I'd love to see your results as well as an explanation of how you correlate different concentrations of matter to different kinds of forest fire and then how yiu are able to use that data to be able to determine the impact of said forest fire on the local ecosystem.

Listening to people talk about very specific fields of expertise that I have zero knowledge of is my number one ASMR trigger (being educated on complicated/new subjects in detail) and there aren't really any ASMR vids of that theme. When growing up my dad had endless piles of scientific data all over his study for work that I'd creep in and peek at, and that is where it all comes from I guess. Honestly this is such a great way to learn, in a quiet relaxed environment where you’re completely focused in on what’s being said. I am studying to be a molecular biologist and am trying to get more used to working in lab without bei ng overwhelmed by all the details of mixing reactions and being efficient at pipetting dozens of samples into tiny little wells in one sitting. This video was a great way to get into the right mindset.
Working in a lab can definitely be overwhelming, especially at the beginning, but eventually the protocols and techniques will become second nature! I'm glad you find the video helpful, and I wish you the best of luck with your studies!

As someone who spent countless hours performing soil sample analysis as an undergrad, I found this to be extremely interesting. I was definitely captivated in your sample process. Wonderful content!
I haven't gotten any tingles in a long time, probably because I listen to/watch asmr material every day and have gotten desensitized to it, but this video gave me serious tingles! I really like the sound of the button and the sliding glass on that scale... And the sound of the capsule when you scrape it with a tool. Super tingles!

LOVE THIS! One of the few ways I still experience ASMR in my daily life is when I visit the lab at work and watch blood smears get prepared for me to view on the microscope and then look at them with other people on the multi-view.
Next time could you please go in more detail like isotopes have more or less neutrons and maybe ions having more electrons or protons with the charges. Thank you I just enjoy science and asmr in one.

I watched this for the first time in highschool when I was using ASMR to help with panic attacks but it’s been years and i used to think this was so cool but somehow I’ve ended up as an environmental archaeologist who works with soils and LOVE this video and hope you do more of your science in the future!

I believe they are classically called balances because the way mass was measured before electronic balances, you had to balance two sides of a balance with your specimen and your measured counterweights.
have you figured out much about how the fires effect the soil yet? I'd be interested interested to know about that for sure , made me curious when you were talking about that's what you were trying to look at .

For the past three days I have been taking notes on ions, isotopes, and atoms. I have always wanted to be a chemist when I grow up, but this video was so interesting that I started taking notes on it.
As a general rule i don't get most of the effects of asmr but i love your videos and this video is probably my favorite just because it is super interesting and informative plus its super calming, morale of the story this is a great video, i love your videos/work and i would love for you to do another video like this.

I'm a big fan of the scientific method, this video was interesting. I do have a question though. Does shaking the sample homogenize it? Wouldn't something like granular convection ("Brazil Nut Effect") come into play? Although I suspect that the subsequent processing of the sample for mass spectrometry would homogenize it quite thoroughly...
+giganova Great question! In a previous step, the samples were freeze-dried and pulverized into the flour-like consistency you see here. So they should already be quite well-mixed. The quick shake I give them is simply to counteract any settling that may have occurred since then.

How do you not fall asleep while making these videos? I nearly fell asleep because of how soothing and soft the sounds and your voice were.

I'm a big fan of the scientific method, this video was interesting. I do have a question though. Does shaking the sample homogenize it? Wouldn't something like granular convection ("Brazil Nut Effect") come into play? Although I suspect that the subsequent processing of the sample for mass spectrometry would homogenize it quite thoroughly...
+giganova Great question! In a previous step, the samples were freeze-dried and pulverized into the flour-like consistency you see here. So they should already be quite well-mixed. The quick shake I give them is simply to counteract any settling that may have occurred since then.
