I'm pretty sure this is my new fav game of all time. I'm 40 hours in and I'm blown away by the size and detail of the world. You can go into rooms in castles and see intricate carvings and paintings on the walls. The crazy thing is almost all of that detail is relevant to the lore. The whole game is a work of art.
I'm 23 hours in and I'm absolutely floored, and I already can tell the game will last me way upwards of 100 hours. I really didn't think any studio had the technology, the talent, or the budget to make a game this good AND this massive in scale. I'd be worried about overhyping it, but it was already overhyped before it came out and somehow it still constantly defies my expectations. It redefines the bar for a "masterpiece" in game design.

just bought this game today!! after what feels like an eternity of waiting (and many many replays of ds remastered, 2, and 3) i’m so excited!! also i’m adoring the soft spoken!!
It’s honestly amazing how someone can pick a game full of violence and turn it to be very relaxing! Also a nice touch giving us subtle lore to the game as you travel around the landscapes.

truly could apply for game of the year. most people are saying its a easier souls game. but I think thats a good thing as I loved the combat yet never was pulled into a game of this difficulty yet rewarding caliber that makes me feel like I've mastered the combat just to want to go try the older games to see how we can compete. and even if ur not intensly fighting, there's something weirdly calming about sitting down in these vast gigantic areas which makes not only the world pop out but blend in your character naturally as well

Elden Ring truly is a fantastic and beautiful game. I'm still exploring Limgrave as much as possible before moving on to other regions. But now I have to question, will you be streaming this game? I'm certain I'm not the only one who would like to watch you play it. Btw. Those little statues with their hands missing? They're depictions of Queen Marika. The reason they're missing their hands has to do with the ruler of Limgrave. Statues in the other regions still have their hands.

It’s so funny to me that gameplay in Elden Ring can go from this peaceful stroll to intense music blaring and the biggest damn boss you’ve ever seen standing in front of you, all happening within a few seconds
As this is your first soulsborne I’d suggest finishing it and then playing a different one, this is as the others are significantly different as they aren’t open world, bloodborne is definitely my favorite and it made me fall in love with the series so I highly recommend it.

In my opinion, graphically bordering a PS3 - 4 game. But art style wise a PS2 game like the last colossos. Graphics isn't something blowing me away. No crispy textures like HFW but it has super cinematic and smooth vistas. Great choice of art direction tbf

Dying is a part of the game. Everytime you die, you understand a bit better the enemy attack patterns, and once it finally clicks, these types of games start to become easy. Playing through any dark souls game is easy once you learn attack patterns. You're rewarded for your patience in trying to learn and understand what's going on rather then just relying on luck. That's why it feels so good once you finally overcome a difficult boss.

First soulsborne game and it's one of the most challenging games from From software. You can get crazy shit later on, but the early stages are brutal.
