    This car has not the "newest" projector lights - it has "only" the improved normal LED lights. I think MC Hammer has the "old" version of the normal LED lights and they changed that some time ago. The new projector lights have a visible lens.

    The thing about panel gaps is that a lot of people use that as a clue, when shopping for a used car, that the car they're looking at might have been involved in an undisclosed accident. With Teslas you can't use the panel gap as an indicator, the car could as well have them since new and never been involved in an accident.

    I read a post about a guy who owned a volvo 240 and a tesla model 3. He said the cars are like copies of each other just from a entirely different era. It got so much in common with the model 3.
    The model 3 is seen as one of the safest cars on the market, the same went for the volvo 240.
    Both the model 3 and the 240 was a slightly more budget option while still having a lot of quality for the middle class.

    Yo, what's up? Hey Bjorn, there is a difference in wind noise around the mirrors with the double layer glass at highway speeds. They wouldn't spend the money otherwise. Commenters online do not understand that it doesn't make a lot of difference atvslowe4 speeds, with wet roads or rough pavement. There is wind turbulence around the mirrors at highway speeds and both the latest Ys and 3s have the double driver's door glass and the sound insulating blanket (cover) over the noisy heat pump.This spring,, Sandy Munro tore down an early Y and commented how the blower unit on the older 3 with inductive heating had a sound blanket/cover attached. Early Y video reviewers commented on the Y's loud heat pump. New ones have been fitted with this feature resulting in the quieter dbs you experienced in the newer 3.
    My 2018 Model 3 has a cheap metallic clang sound when closing the trunk. 2019+ models have a thin sound blanket under the plastic inner liner. Newer trunks have quality thunk when closed.
    An ongoing issue has been the sound when the driver and passenger doors are shut with the frameless windows down. My 2018 windows rattle cheaply. I visited a showroom with a 2019 May build Model 3 and performed the windows-down driver's door slam test and it closed with a solid, Tuetonic, "clunk". Weather seals look the same, but surely, the newer car had changes inside the door. Oddly, I bought a 2019 June build SR+ for my wifey. It's door sound lands somewhere in the middle between my 2018 rattle and the showroom LR 3D's quality thud...
    On the same subject, a recent TH-camr Kyle Conner comparison of 2020 Toyota RAV4 Prime PHEV vs. Tesla Model Y showed a hollow, low quality sound when he slapped the outside of the Toyota's passenger front door with the palm of his hand. The same test on the Y issued a nice solid sound. Just like the standard tapping of hard plastic on interior door cards and dash, I think this should become a standard test of insulation and quality build in new car reviews.
    We see this constant improvement of everything from batteries, door handles, to trunk lids to software advancements with Teslas.

    Actually my 2020 model 3 from September have the same headlight as the 2021 model you show here. They go up and down and have the edged light cones in normal light mode

    The new headlights so far have only been on LHD vehicles (the ones imported into the UK for example). These two are exactly the same

      My friend received his Model 3 yesterday, I had an early '19 Model 3 until last week. There's definitely a great different when closing the door. Even the rear door feels different when closing it - as if it would be more solid. Hard to explain.

    The metallic sound could also be your license plate, '16 Subaru Forester's license plate causes our metallic "clung" from closing the trunk.

    Looking forward to your follow up videos with the head to head tests especially when it comes to driving efficiency. I really am curious to see how the heat pump helps when it comes to cold weather driving vs the previous model 3 with the PTC heaters.

    I would love to see a new range test, and the difference in efficiency with the heat pump.
    What I would also love to see, since you have a model 3 with tow bar at disposition, is the consumption of a Model 3 with two bikes on a bike rack. This question is often asked on the Tesla forum, but I would love to have a correct measurement.

  • @thvestergaard
    @thvestergaard 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes Bjørn. Make more comparison videos with 2021 model 👍🏼
    The battery is probably a smaller 74.4kwh with LG cells (like mine), where you can use like 71.5kwh. But heat pump will probably make it drive as long (or longer) as an older pack with Panasonic cells.

    • @aleksisoukkala
      @aleksisoukkala 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that has panasonic cells (it might even have those new panasonic cells) Sens it is made in fremont. Because if I remember correctly LG only delivers battery's for shanghai factory.

    • @asaha7547
      @asaha7547 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aleksisoukkala actually no there is possibility to get any version of 3 packs from Fremont, LG, Pana old, Pana new

    • @thvestergaard
      @thvestergaard 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@asaha7547 I got vin 4 no higher than the one Bjørn is testing. I have 71.4kwh usable and probably 75 incl hidden buffers. Panasonic could not deliver enough cells to Fremont so they used some 75kwh LG Chem on some of them.

    Hi Bjørn! given the fact that the frunk at the 2021 version is smaller, will the mat of the old one still fit? In case it doesn't, do you have a link to buy a mat for the new? Thanks for your videos. Greetings from Spain!
