I think the whole bartender twist is pretty dumb but I don't actually remember the game all that well if I'm being honest. There are things I really like about it, like how if you text Catherine to leave you alone, your chaos points still go up since you didn't outright ignore her, but the game feels a bit too aimless and doesn't justify Vincent being as complacent as he is enough for the common fan defense of "that's the point; he's a loser" to work for me.
Something I really don't like about Full Body is them treating Rin like a gay option but not actually doing anything with him to make him seem like a guy, while also not doing anything to do real commentary on gender roles and presentation, etc. It felt really degrading and like they wanted to play LGBT topics as safe as humanly possible, but I know that's not what the video is about lmao.

I think it's neat that you can essentially role-play as Vincent warming up to Catherine in the way you described, just wish she was more developed to feel like a suitable choice. Not that Vincent deserves a happy ending anyway given how he handled things, even though he was being supernaturally manipulated... damn after writing that the bartender twist is bugging me more and more lol
And I actually appreciate the tidbits about Full Body, since I'm probably not gonna play it. If K and C were this underdeveloped in classic, then I can't imagine adding a third option does the game any favors beyond attempted fan service. In addition to your points about representation of course.

@@CobraCodex For sure. Rin is also not really shown to have flaws like the others, who do get some fleshing out (mostly just flashback scenes with Vincent and Katherine in high school), but Rin is this very kind and supportive friend to Vincent who isn't crazy or manipulative at all, which makes the fact that he doesn't fit in the story even worse. Their roast battle against the bartender after you clear his stage is really funny bc it's basically just Vincent and Rin listing off bumper sticker slogans about diversity as he explodes from homophobia, but it's not really worth it. I did like it when it first came out and I can understand people liking Rin because they technically give representation (same with Erica), but I think people should have much higher standards.
