Tears for Fears has a very HUGE sound. I remember being dragged to see them live back in the day with my then BF. He was a fan, I only knew a few songs from radio play. These guys killed it live. I left that show a true blue fan. Shout is another really BIG sounding song. Also, that's a chimp..ape, not a monkey. If you ever watch Planet of the Apes, you will never make that mistake again. 😂
Filmed at the University of Toronto library, I almost walked onto the set by mistake that day lol. A real classic piece of the 80s for sure - great choice, and great reaction as always!
Tears for Fears is one of the few bands from the 80's that still stands up. I can think of a few others, but not many. You should hit "Shout!" as well.
Roland has a voice of an angel, so does Curt :') So happy you liked this one and Everybody Wants To Rule The World! Please can you check out Shout by them?
Saw them live several years back, they were amazing. I recall they covered Radiohead's Creep. Everyone should check out Tears for Fears, such wonderful music. Released a new album not too long ago, the boys still got it.
Ya I gotcha same with me, I only discovered them about 5 years ago I was listening to other stuff because I wasn't exposed to this type of music, but they have become by favorite band/ duo of all time, seen them in concert 2 years in a row and there catalog of great songs is ridiculous!
I can also recommend anything from their first album, “The Hurting”. Title track is awesome. Tears for Fears were contemporary’s with Wham!, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, & Depeche Mode. Check them all out
Great choice! Tears for Fears is one of my all-time favorite bands!! I saw them live in concert 6 different times. Both of the singers have incredible voices!
There is just so much I love about this song! The lyrics, the funky yet soaring melody, the harmonies, the great electronic counterpoint.... just love it!
I was a kid when this song came out. I remember playing with hot wheels with the radio on in the background. This was one of those songs that always stood out to me. It’s one of my favorite songs so it’s nice to hear younger generation reactors enjoying it too
Hi there Shon. Still love your channel it makes my day whenever I watch it. I’ve said it before and I will say it again. The way you analyse the song and the lyrics is incredible. I’ve watched other TH-cam reactions and they don’t seem to get it the way you do. Please keep up the good work. Blessings to you from England.
Definitely one of the standout bands of the 80's. The era of MTV music videos. A lot of them were quite strange and this is one of them! I saw them live over forty years ago. They came to my hometown last summer and I got to see them live once more. They put on a great show..they still had it! They also put out a new album and it's quite good. I love these guys...
While Everybody Wants To Rule The World is by far my favorite song of theirs, Woman In Chains and Mad World are probably their best work. They've honestly got an amazing catalogue, even Roland's solo stuff after they broke up is fantastic.
This song takes me back to 1985 while I was stationed in Chicago and this song was playing on the radio all the time ! I was homesick but this song helped put a smile on my face whenever I heard it …now it is like a Time Machine that takes me back and makes me feel so reminiscent. It is crazy how fast time goes and it reminds me to enjoy your life while you can as you only get once chance to do it !,…shon you are an awesome young man and I love watching you discover the music that was the anthems of my youth…
About the chimpanzee. Back in the 80s, with MTV and music videos being new, it opened a whole new world of creativity & trying new things for director, stylists etc. They did crazy abstract things, performance art stuff, things they just thought were absurd, anything went. Who knows why the chimp was in there but we didn't question it, it was all a part of the huge explosion of creative stuff we'd see every single day on MTV and we just accepted the boundaries being pushed & loved whatever they came up with. I consider myself very lucky to have grown up in the 70s/80s where creativity & being different, silly, weird, cool etc was normal.
Sadly in the US, Tears for Fears are considered an 80's band. In England and Europe they are still huge and recently released another album. I would love to see you react to their song "Woman in Chains".
Shon, you gotta react to "Woman In Chains", it's one of their best songs! And bro, you hit that high note! You becoming a singer on us? Finding a four leaf clover brings you luck, you got it.
Hey Shon, I'm glad you're enjoying listening to "Tears For Fears." Here's another suggestion, if interested. "Tears For Fears - Woman In Chains ft. Oleta Adams" (by the channel: Tears For Fears) --This song was originally released in 1989 and prominently features Oleta Adams alongside Tears For Fears her soulful vocals lent depth and emotion to the song, creating a hauntingly unforgettable experience. Both Adams and Tears For Fears used this song to capitalize on the singer solo success while also boosting the bands commercial success as well. And as always, I enjoyed rocking with you, Shon. Thanks for sharing. peace out~
Young brother, that was the first song i heard when i arrived in the UK. Was stationed there from 85-88. It makes me happy to see young people appreciate the music of my youth. Keep up the good work.
Dude, TFF is an excellent band. The radio hits (like this) are great, but the deep cuts are excellent. The "Elemental" album is nothing but hits. There's a song on there called "Cold" that I think you'd like a lot.
Tears For Fears is one of the best bands, certainly of the 80s, if not of all time. Their music is really complex and yet so catchy at the same time. I’m so glad you “hear” them the way I do. You have gained a sub for this! ❤
Incredible song from the 80's. Might be the best of all the 80's songs. Songs From The Big Chair is one the few 20 or so albums that I like playing non-stop from beginning to end.
Tears for Fears "SHOUT". (original video). ❤❤❤
Sowing the seeds will blow your mind, get ready 😮
They had great songs in the 80's. Love SHOUT and SOWING THE SEEDS OF LOVE, and WOMAN IN CHAINS.
Woman in Chains is so so good!!!
Woman in Chains is one of my favorites
@@ohfour-seven6228 Oleta Adams was such an awesome find and partner. Too bad she didn’t learn anything from her huge gay fan base.
What happened to her?@@leephillips2837
PHAROAHS, MAD WORLD
I’m 54 years old now I was 15 when this song came out and I fell in love with it the first time I heard it and I still love this song so much
I'm 53. It's my favorite song by them. I saw them last year and they were amazing! ❤
All my friends were metal heads then and so was I, but this song hits hard. Good music is good music.
I was in the 7th Grade, and the 8th Graders were playing this on a boombox just after school.
Powerful line: "I wanted to be with you alone, and talk about the weather."
Woman In Chains is another amazing one from them. 😊😊😊😊
Agreed! Then listen to "Break The Man" off their 2022 The Tipping Point album.
I agree wholeheartedly. "Everybody Wants To Rule the World" is one of the best pop songs ever.
I once said it's the Best Non-Beatle Song Ever!
Roland’s vocals in this song? 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
He has one of those unmistakable voices. Once you know their sound, you’ll always know it’s them.
Beautiful...how is miss those days...the 2nd British Invasion....we called it back then!
Mad World next!🎉❤🎉
One of the greatest bands ever!
Tears for Fears - Break it Down Again
Tears for Fears has a very HUGE sound. I remember being dragged to see them live back in the day with my then BF. He was a fan, I only knew a few songs from radio play. These guys killed it live. Haha...cool!
I had no idea, and I'm Canadian, lol.
Thank you.
That was such a great time to be alive. I was only 14 then, but I remember how alive i felt at the time. The whole era was unparalleled.
This one is a fuqqin banger for 40 years…
Songs from the Big Chair is one if the best albums of the 80s. Still spin it on occasion!

Tears for Fears is one of the few bands from the 80's that still stands up. I can think of a few others, but not many. You should hit "Shout!" as well.

Listen to SHOUT!
One of my favorite songs off one of the best albums of the 80s. Tears for Fears are fantastic!
Roland Orzalbel a great voice evoking great feeling and super symbolism with the lyrics! Tears were fears were a 1980s musical force!
Saw them live several years back, they were amazing. I recall they covered Radiohead's Creep. Everyone should check out Tears for Fears, such wonderful music. Released a new album not too long ago, the boys still got it.
Now you need to react to "Shout" & "Sowing The Seeds Of Love" (In that order😊).
Cool song never heard it before my life. Thank you for your reaction appreciate it❤
Really?? Lol one of the most iconic songs of the 80s
@@kevinl2578 yep too busy listening to David Cassidy or Michael Jackson or LLcoolj or Madonna anyway groovy song

Seen them 4 times. Always a great performance!
I like your review!
Have not even started the song, but I have to tell you how much I love and totally appreciate your reactions. And you too! ☮️❤️😎
TFF they bring it everytime!
Sowing the seeds is another brilliant track
This is my favorite Tears for Fears song. It's so exhilarating to listen to. It really hits heights that few songs match.
I can also recommend anything from their first album, “The Hurting”. Title track is awesome. Tears for Fears were contemporary’s with Wham!, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, & Depeche Mode. Check them all out
I've said it before and will say it again, when it comes to reactors on the Tube that dissect lyrics, You are number one my friend!
Shout and everybody wants to rule the world are their other biggest hits unless I am forgetting something. All great songs including this one!
"Mad World", "Sowing in the Seeds of Love".
Mad World, if you haven't done it. Pale Shelter is one of their best!
Tears for Fears and Simple Minds were outstanding bands with large sounds in the 80's. You can't go wrong with any of their music.
Finding a four leaf clover is considered lucky (in the UK, at least). Great song!
Another awesome 80’s group, they have many great hits.
Next do ROUGHBOY by ZZ Top. No one seems to do that one. Great bass and guitar.
You hear this song enough and you can't help but sing along.
Woman in chains is another fantastic song (among so many by TFF) 🥰
GOOD REACTION FAM. AND YES THE HARMONIZING CHANT IN THE END ,BRINGS IT HOME. MY FAVORITE BY THEM 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I had forgotten how good Tears For Fears was/is.
1985 I was 16 and had my first car. Wore this cassette OUT. The whole album is 🔥🔥🔥
Great choice! Tears for Fears is one of my all-time favorite bands!! I saw them live in concert 6 different times. Both of the singers have incredible voices!
their earlier works like Change, Mad World and Pale Shelter...excellent as well
There is just so much I love about this song! The lyrics, the funky yet soaring melody, the harmonies, the great electronic counterpoint.... just love it!
Shon you are the absolute best.😀
A 4 leaf clover is extremely rare.
The mid 80's. Man what a time! So many memories, and this song brings a lot of them back. Such a great time to be coming of age.
Quintessential 80s jam!
I was a kid when this song came out. I remember playing with hot wheels with the radio on in the background. This was one of those songs that always stood out to me. It’s one of my favorite songs so it’s nice to hear younger generation reactors enjoying it too
I was about 9, myself.
Absolutely ❤️.
There are so many great songs in their catalog ❤ Shout, mad world, pale shelter and lot more ❤

Please react to Tears for Fears - Mad World - Thanks!
No song reminds me of high school summers more than this one. Driving with the windows down or at the pool. I miss the 80s

Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence
Do "SHOUT!" ❤❤❤

There’s no end to the rabbit hole!
Nope, catalog so deep it's ridiculous!
This is one of those that comes on the radio and won’t leave the car until it’s done. Love❤

Saw them in concert just before the pandemic and met them outside the venue. One of the all-time greats!

Nice …I’ve known this song for almost 40 years now and it STILL makes me feel good 😊
You’re a good dude …wish you the best✨
It's videos like this why I keep coming back to your channel. Other excellent 80s you should check out are Duran Duran and Depeche Mode.
Yup same here!
'Listen', the song which follows this one on the albun is INCREDIBLE.
Riki Lee Jones…”Woody and Dutch slow train to Peking “ nobody knows it but everyone will love it.
Sowing The Seeds Of Love or Mad World
you HAVE to react to "Shout".
This band is fire! 🔥
They are still touring and STILL sound amazing! I saw them last year in Jersey. Great Show!
Great song... Era-capturing, while also transcending 80s pop, I think

Check out Sewing the Seeds of Love next.
The entire Songs from the Big Chair is musical mastery. Somehow they took pop and added a jazzy flair and his voice is so unique.
This is a good second song of theirs to hear. Another is "Sowing the Seeds of Love."
Love the video and of course the song thank you.
Definitely need to listen to Shout!! Great reaction!!
The Jimmy Castor Bunch- Troglodyte, Rage Against the Machine- Killing In The Name, or duran Duran- Reflex.
You should do Woman In Chains by TFF.
(sewing the seeds of love is an incredible piece full of blatant politics) great video and also brilliant lyrically and musically.
Young brother, that was the first song i heard when i arrived in the UK. Was stationed there from 85-88. It makes me happy to see young people appreciate the music of my youth. Keep up the good work.
I bought this album in vinyl when it came out still have it😊

Try ELECTRIC CALLBOY- WE GOT THE MOVES. Guarantee a great reaction
Jeez, you just brought me back to High School in the early 80s.
Incredible song from the 80's. Might be the best of all the 80's songs. Songs From The Big Chair is one the few 20 or so albums that I like playing non-stop from beginning to end.
