Clovers are typically 3 leaf. 4 leafs are rare and if found, considered good luck.

Yeah, Four Leaf Clovers bringing luck is an Irish thing brought to popularity by St Patrick's Day.

@@TheMarrowMan But St Patrick's Day made the notion of the Four Leaf Clover popular to non-Irish. That's not taking away anything from the symbology of the Three Leaf Clover.

It's an Irish aspect, clover are green, like the landscape of Ireland, rarity of 4 vs' 3 leaf. Irish people do pin a clover to their jacket or dress lapel as a symbol of their nation. 🍀

The leaves of four-leaf clovers are said to stand for faith, hope, love, and luck. It's often said that Ireland is home to more four-leaf clovers than any other place, giving meaning to the phrase “the luck of the Irish.” If you're lucky enough to find a four-leaf clover, look for more!

Consider the actual history of my homeland. We are everything but lucky. My grandmother, from County Claire, said the phrase is sarcastic at best. I don't know. I was born in Tampa lol.

Inna, a "Four Leaf Clover" is traditionally a symbol of good luck. It comes from the Irish culture and lore. Finding or "walking over" a four-leaf clover is thought to bring good luck. A clover is a plant or a grass.

Clovers usually grow with three leafs, and it is very rare to find one with four leafs, so it's traditionally considered to be a sign of good luck and fortune to find a four leaf clover. I think this extends across several cultures, but for some reason I don't really know why, it's commonly associated with Irish culture, and leprechauns, or whatever.

    Hello Inna,
You can't imagine how happy I am that someone from your generation is interested in Tears for Fears.
Roland Orzabal is an underrated singer like many others.
I place him with Jon Anderson (Yes), Greg Lake (King Crimson & ELP), Freddie Mercury (Queen), Steve Perry (Journey), Brad Delp (Boston) Steve Walsh (Kansas, Steve Hackett and several others) etc.. .
Roland Orzabal is at the top of his art on the album The Seeds of Love, particularly in the song Badman's Song where he pushes very high notes for the time. For me, it's the cult Tears for Fears album. Like Selling England by the Pound by Genesis, Aqualung by Jethro Tull, Close to the Edge by Yes etc.

I have to say that T4F wasn't really on my musical radar back in the 80s as I dismissed them as being a bit 'pop' for my tastes. However... Roland Orzibal released an album under the T4F banner (I think lol) called Raoul And The Kings Of Spain. It is a fantastic album, and well worth seeking out. Unfortunately it was released in the 90s and got drowned out by the giant sucking sound called 'grunge'. So yes, look out for that.

Hi Inna! Good reaction to one of many "Synth Groups" from the 80s. They were called that, because there would be at least 1 Synthesizer in the group. The Keyboard you saw in the video was a Synthesizer or "Synth". I bought my first Synth in the 80's, still have it. 🙂"Head over Heels" was actually one of Tears For Fear's hits. Other hit songs were, "Sowing The Seeds Of Love" and "Mad World". Feel free to listen to them when you have the chance. Good job, keep it up. Greetings from Sweden 😉❤

Another potential interpretation is his ability to have an open mind is what he considers his "good luck" charm because he is open to new things. Hi Inna! I'm sure someone has suggested this but this band has a song called "Mad World" that was popular and would be a good reaction. It's a cover version but still a solid song. The four leaf clover thing is just that it's a symbol of good luck, so he was saying that she was his good luck charm. See you later!! 😊

  • @leemallard

The song is simply about the man's confusion over being "head over heels" in love with a woman who want's nothing more than a physical relationship with no emotional ties. But he's being honest and telling her what he wants, laying it all on the line and leaving it up to luck (thus the 4 leaf clover reference towards the end)

There was a pop side to the 80s but there was also the artistic side to the 80s with artists like The Smiths and David Sylvian. Look Up "Forbidden Colours" by David Sylvian. Another interesting artist is Nick Cave.

This song reminds me of school. The heart of the 80's for me is the period between 80 to 83.
May I suggest two songs with the greatest intros of all time.
Lotus Eaters - First Picture of You 1983
Alan Parsons Project - Sirius and Eye in the Sky 1982
or the "godfather" of the 80's Visage - Fade to Grey 1980

Mad World is their best song. You'll love the beat and the sound of it. It was also cover many many times until today

"Woman in Chains", "Shout", "Everybody Wants To Rule The World", and "Sowing The Seeds Of Love" are all massive hits of theirs that you'll love, I'm sure!
Four leaf clover is a sign of good luck. Rare to find (not really) but if you find one you'll have good luck.

Tears For Fears are Curt Smith vocals and bass and Roland Orzabal vocals and guitar. They are unique in the fact that both guys sing lead vocal, Roland sings Head Over Heels, but Curt sings lead on what is probably their most famous song Everybody Wants To Rule The World. They have loads of great songs, check out Shout, Mad World, Advice For The Young At Heart, Sowing The Seeds Of Love, Pale Shelter, Change, Year Of The Knife, the list is endless. Tears For Fears recorded a new album in 2022 called The Tipping Point, you should check it out it is awesome. The title track is about the death of Roland's wife in 2017, other great songs are Rivers Of Mercy, My Demons, Long Long Long Time and No Small Thing. A four leaf clover is supposed to be lucky.

If you love the 80s then you NEED to check out The Midnight if you haven’t already. They’re a modern synthwave band with music that sounds like it’s straight out of the 80s.
