Yo idk when I'll get the time but I'll try to make some just for. But if and when I'll start sending you some gear to help that Avatar out a bit. I'm sure I still have a few full permission animations at least. If you find some messages from Lucifer or Kristal that'll be me. (Everyone should do the same. Find this man some shhht to get him set up)
This is going to sound weird. But the friendliest places I’ve been to are Lovense clubs and clubs in general. I usually only go to furry friendly places though. If you want something really interesting look into Second Life furry wrestling lmao. They do live WWE style shows in world. 😂
to people who actually play this game, especially the commenters saying that he needs to fix his avatar before people will talk to him... why on earth would any new player want to stick around in a game where no one will talk to them? how is a new player supposed to know that they're being snubbed because they look nooby, and why would anyone want to spend the money to build a new avatar before even getting a taste of what the game is actually like? the new player experience is so bad, I just don't get it

People can sometimes be wary of strangers voicing because of prior experiences with trolls. Usually it's a good idea to type to people first and to get to know them before you start voicing.
It's always funny to see newbies coming with the ancient Second Life avatar. it will blow your mind once you realize the standard nowadays is to make that avatar invisible and instead wear high quality mesh rigged to the skeleton. Materials enabled, motion capture microexpressions, fully articulated finger joints, all that jazz. I currently recommend Lelutka as the best mesh head brand regardless of gender. For bodies, either Legacy or Reborn for feminine frames, and Legacy or Belleza for male frames. Highest quality, and you'll have the best shot at shopping for current stuff because that's what creators rig for now. And don't forget to find a good bento AO (animation override) so you're not duck walking around. Second Life is free to play, but I usually tell people to expect to drop about $50 USD to get a basic avatar set up. Once you've got your head, body, skin, and AO, if you find the right seasoned friend to take you to good shops you can find actual high quality free/cheap items for hair and clothes. You don't have to spend much on those things to look decent and have fun if you know where to look. That's assuming you want to look like a modern day human avatar in SL. If you want to be a furry or other non-standard avatar, it can be more affordable. Or you can stay as the nearly 20 year-old original avatar too if that's what you want, haha. Let your nostalgic freak flag fly!
And before anyone balks at the cost of things in Second Life, remember the majority of what you spend is not going to Second Life itself, but instead to the individual artists, scripters, and creators who are making beautiful things for the world. People create amazing things for Second Life and many even pay their rent and put food on their table doing so. They deserve to be compensated for their skills. And when you compare the cost of Second Life to the purchase of a game or microtransactions in an MMO, it begins to make a lot more sense. A lot of modders make money in Second Life, it's quite common. Sometimes you'll even recognize brand names as being the same as modders from gaming communities like The Sims and Skyrim.
A lot of DJ parties aren't allowed to have mics on because it turns into a mess of background fans and random screaming. 😂 Try Japan! The admins there are super nice and SO fun to explore! I'll have to send you a request so you can ask if you have questions or need some help! Keep up the awesome videos! 💜
its fantastic watching your videos on SL .. reminds me so much when i started .. i deleted my very first avatar after 15 minutes but than came back a few months later, now im a sl addict for the past 15 years
I’ve been in Second Life for over 19 years and it’s just killing me watching these! Don’t get me wrong you’ve got my likes and my subscription and my bell ring but oh my God I wish I could help you! The biggest trick about second life is the learning curve is HUGE! I’ve made up some simple, notecards and things to help new people acclimate much much faster! I’m going to make a point to sending it to you/your avatar later today or tomorrow! Keep doing Second Life videos! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If you actually wanna explore SL you need to start with asking for help to set up your avatar. Looking like that in an account made so many years ago most people will automatically assume you are a troll and simply not engage with you, ence why you are having so much trouble being social in a social platform. You shouldn't have a problem finding someone to help you with a makeover, specially if you pay them a few dollars for their time. You also need to consider the specific culture in SL, it's like going to Japan or Pakistan, there is a certain region specific etiquette you must stick to not to be perceived as rude.
You are exploring 1/100 of SL features... Is like trying to discover New York but never leaving one single street... You can close your inwirld vouce mic and still voice for youtube stream
This! Whenever people make Second Life videos, they tend to just go to newbie hubs and try to chat with random people. They haven't even gotten off the plane and out of the airport yet they think they are giving a tour of the whole city, haha.
I used to play thousands of hours in SL years ago! I even had made a virtual shop in Market place that sells animated anime frames. I still get some LS from that today lol It was fun back then! When you see good looking avatars that just stand there and do nothing they are probably in dms, or in a private dm call with some one thats why they might not hear you. Ahhh, good old times! :D
Hello sir, welcome sir, to your video's comments section. It was a shame no one wanted to communicate using their microphones. Found your channel through your Neos and VRchat videos which were quite a hoot. I've tried going into some of the public Bar/Club type worlds in VRchat and it was.. well a bit much- you are a brave man venturing into those waters. Anywho have a good day.
I really miss when second life was alive 2006 to 2010. it really was a different experience very eventful funny random, now it's a dead space mostly just bots and the anti social ones that invested in it years ago but just can't let go.
In the past, SL was full of interesting things to do, and finding people to talk to and make friends wasn't too difficult. Today, most people there are incredibly hostile, preferring to stay in their little cliques, and refuse to talk to other people.
Thank you!! Yeah, hoping to do some more diverse metaverse exploring videos interspersed with the ongoing Replika vids and some other VR stuff -- glad you found the channel!
I go shopping and spend time with my sl family ^-^ Freebie hunting is fun too,but decorating is the best part of sl. The newbie areas are the weirdest places XmX But yea if you really want to learn about second life and play. You should watch the Oxford gateway videos. They offer lots of tutorials ^-^ SL is what you make of it!! Also alot of people don't like using mics XmX
Glad you popped back into SL. There are lots of places and great people, just need to keep exploring. I am a bike builder and love it. You'll find spots you like and others you don't just keep exploring until you find your favorite and people you like.
People actually socialize a lot more in Groups. Most sims and communities have Groups where which put out notifications for events and stuff. Mics are pretty much dead -- most sims just have it turned off. People mostly use Audio in private calls. SL is adding the ability for your avatar to move with your camera/VR set so hopefully it'll pick up again. If you look up Furry Sandbox, that's probably going to give you slightly better results for people using Audio. The Chonk Box is one I know has audio on and has pretty constant chatter. No fucking clue why this is the case, furries just tend to use audio a bit more. Oh and people in the countless sex clubs... But we're getting into some CONTENT RESTRICTED territory there.
It's a weird platform to be sure. :D I love it, but I still don't know what the heck is it there for. Creating on it is fun tho, and the promise of "you can do anything here" is actually pretty compelling. However, just like in real life, it doesn't come with answers, but you'll have to figure out what to do in life for yourself. People are nicer to mesh avatars for sure because it shows they're playing for real instead of just dropping in every once and a while to laugh at other people on there. :)
London is probably the most active sim for chatting. There are also places like Humblebrag but they have a join fee so no trolls. I’d check out the clubs, like exhale and peak. There’s a lot of people there who take it very seriously so could be fun :)
I'm not sure if it's still active, but when I was in second life as (Eric Yexil) I usually hung out at Solana Beach club. Very friendly folks and great parties, at least back in the day. Check it out.

Lol. I will try to find you and send a friends request. I have an SL family (group of friends) that is very knowledgeable on SL and all of us for the most part love to voice but we can explain why some places don’t allow it. Take any place that has a DJ and putting on a show. If you voice, then you voice over their music. My name is Sarindipidy In world but people call me Dippy. 😊
