I feel like Square really needs to stop revealing KH games super early if they don’t release within a year or two and also do more small side games like BBS and DreamDrop again. And Disney probably needs to utilize the series more. Gaps like could be a good way to have things like an AU comic or TV show to pass the time(that sticks somewhat close to the source material like Sonic), feature knods to it in theme park fire work shows/parades, and include it in more Disney styled merch like Lego sets, higher quality pins, and their Lorcana TCG than just furniture and dishware.
To me, it’s just commonplace at this point not getting any news at all. It’s a shame but I’m more keen to know what’s going on with missing link. Like truly, that game is literally “missing!” Lol

I feel like I'm in a super weird situation in terms of waiting. I can be patient, I waited for KH3 after all but I think what made KH3 easier was once they did get into development, rather than the endless spin-offs due to mismanagement, we were spoiled with lots of trailers. I don't think the volume of trailers was bad, just the content of it was major spoilers. Yet...it worked, didn't it? I mean the true surprises Nomura and the team wanted, were in Re:Mind. I think just spacing out news and trailers better instead of going silent for two years would be better. Actually, better communication might even mean less trailers needed, thus less chances of spoiling.
I don't understand the reluctance to give an update. If it's 5 years out, say "no time soon - still in early development", if it's coming soon say "we have some surprises coming next year about KH4". it's annoying. They released a trailer 2 years ago - but act like it's ridiculous that people are frustrated. No, it's ridiculous that KH3 took 12 years, and that they doubled down and teased KH4 years ahead again with no forseeable release or updates.
all things considered, I consider a 5 year development cycle pretty good (assuming kh4 started development right after remind came out and assuming it will come out in 2025), especially compared with some of the 7 year development cycles we get with some series, if kingdom hearts 4 releases in 2025, I'm ok with it, I'll be even more ok with it if we finally get missing link, like please Nomura, just release the damn game however, I can't excuse teasers and trailers for the numbered titles to keep coming out years before release, the first teaser or trailer should always be released 1 year maximum before release, it tells you the game exists and tells you it's close to being ready to release, starts the hype cycle and follow up trailers will capitalize on the interest generated by the first teaser, gameplay trailers, story trailers all of that to ramp up the hype, I'm sure kh4 will have that, similar to kh3 had close to release, but again, that first teaser, should have released either this year or next year, not in 2022, my only annoyance with kingdom hearts is the wait for new information, which wouldn't be that bad if I didn't know kingdom hearts 4 existed

i got an improved movement mod and adjusted some of the numbers to my liking. biggest changes i made are slightly faster run speed, instant doubleflight, and much faster keyblade swapping (it works mid combo now) there are other mods that also look fun, you should check those out
This just feels like the norm. It's almost the exact same news cycle for KH3. When KH4 is ready for release they will flood us with KH news that we will eat up. Then the cycle will repeat for KH5. I even heard the "I can't wait for my Grandkids to play KH3" line before
Any time a new Square game gets announced just expect a 5 year plus wait before you can actually play it. We'll get drip fed info, and maybe a new trailer some time next year that looks way different from the first one. But yeah, that's Square Enix.

Kingdom hearts 4 trailer was lit from 2 years ago, they need to stop drop it. Regardless whether it ruined the surprise or not it has phenomenal graphics and looks phenomenal gameplay wise.
Honestly my biggest desire is to focus on the large cast we already have and develop them outside of Sora, as well as making Disney worlds prominent like KH2 and before; now they just feel like pit stops.
I just want the games to ship when they are ready. No rushing. I don't care about news or secrecy as long as what we end up with is worthy of the series we all hold near and dear to our hearts. I can only hope Disney and Square learned their lessons with KH3.

Something that worries me is that eventually, this series will die. Eventually, a portion of fans will be too old to enjoy a game that injects Disney movies (or gimmicks like Disney rides). Kids in the future may not be interested in playing the whole series of things to enjoy newer installments. I wish they would allow the story and characters to grow with the audience. But... Who knows. I hope KH4 is a good experience. I feel like there's a chance we'll also eventually get a KH5 in the future, but... I think at this rate, that'll be the last in the series But hey, we'll probably have 7 to 10 years before that happens?
If they wanna introduce Marvel to the series through KH4, they are better off having it appear in a minor aspect first to see if fans would enjoy the idea. For example, have Sora find a comic book within the world of Quadratum. Then, similar to the Winnie The Pooh book, have him jump inside and meet some Marvel heroes. Just imagine Sora teaming up with Spider-Man, which makes him learn a new ability to mimic Spider-Man's web swinging (The Chain grappling hook we see Sora do in the KH trailer against the Darkside)
I think I might know one of the reasons, correct me if I am wrong, but there is no point of making a game if some people can 'download' it with the jailbreak or can just put any videos on the internet and destroy the game by discussing the plots, the secrets, and different endings. If I were a Video Game maker I wouldn't be motivated at all to program, it wouldn't be profitable, especially if the game does not sell as much as it should have... and stood the test of time, because you can't make a Kingdom Heart every year, or maybe you could but you would have to be very highly motivated. Also I was also guilty of the modding scene, but now I try to buy everything I own digitally, and if I own a physical copy, or a digital copy just like on Apple, then I can download it off the internet the copies. The modding scene ain't that bad, but there has to be rule, you should wait until a console does not sell anymore, at least that's what I believe, otherwise it's just way too easy, given that some people can afford to buy, and if you buy it serves as friction when you want to avoid minor sins like drinking, going out clubbing, or even smoking marijuana, e.g: If I told you, you could buy either a keg, or the new Kingdom Hearts which one would you choose ? I would go with the Kingdom Hearts.
basically I feel like I don't want to be afraid to criticize something that people consider nostalgic because it seems that after the original when adaptations come out they are met with extreme high expectations that at least to me feel impossible to meet My stance is that even the originals have their own problems and with KH2 the only reason why it's considered good now is because of final mix, I think that's fair to say because that's all people play, not the PS2 version, and I've seen often enough that the one big reason why adaptations get so much hate and criticism is because everyone compares it to the original that people consider childhood nostalgia KH3 was hyped up so much that when it finally came out people got disappointed and I think some said it was the worst game they ever played and it's no wonder why, because everyone's expectations were *really* high so the greater expectation the bigger disappointment you feel because that's the way humans and life is designed, KH3 isn't perfect either but I don't think it's as bad as some people say it is and I bring up KH2 because that's the biggest game people compare it too, to be honest not to sound like I'm hating on KH2 but honestly? If there was no final mix then I'm willing to bet plenty of people would feel differently about KH2 and I think that's fair to say and true because final mix gave KH2 everything it has now and needed to be universally considered good thanks to final mix, it may have had a good story but gameplay wise for instance final mix is better, as much as people hate on KH3 to praise KH2, KH2 wasn't any better until we got final mix but if we didn't have final mix then what? yes limit form introduced dodge roll but at the end of the day it took them introducing a whole new transformation that wasn't in the original to give us a basic move, we may have dodge roll now but it wasn't there to begin with, I think that's fair to say, I will not be afraid to criticize something people love out of fear that I will get hate for it, nothing is perfect because I like to believe everything has at least one flaw but with some properties like KH3 I do feel like they get a little too much hate, KH2 was good but that's just my opinion, heck the KH3 dlc was good with it adding yozora for instance, I think in every kh game except for KH3 the older keyblades became irrelevant once most people got a newer and more powerful one but KH3 actually makes every keyblade matter thanks to it's keyblade upgrade system, there's even some walls you can run up on which you can't do in any other kh game I think, it's also the only other kh game besides ddd that has flow motion which in my opinion is fun and adds to the experience, the shotlocks can be fun too depending on who you ask, as much hate as KH3 gets, it did do some good in my opinion

I’d rather have a giant game than 30 mobile titles and remixes. Why doesn’t SE think about this.. is mobile really that profitable? If I ever make my own IP I have a pretty good story series…I in my own good conscience never sell to Disney or out it on mobile.
Mobile games are actually very profitable because they can target a very wide audience (casuals and gamers) + it's a lot more accessible considering most people around the world own a smartphone compared to a console. That's how things like gachas and microtransactions make a lot of money, you can look up the revenue of particular games or the mobile game industry if you want. I'm not a big fan of mobile games myself but unfortunately if a company wants to keep funding the game and the people working on it, mobile is sometimes a more sustainable choice. Big IPs see it as an opportunity to attract new fans who could potentially play the games on another platform.

Any time a new Square game gets announced just expect a 5 year plus wait before you can actually play it. We'll get drip fed info, and maybe a new trailer some time next year that looks way different from the first one. But yeah, that's Square Enix.

Kingdom hearts 4 trailer was lit from 2 years ago, they need to stop drop it. Regardless whether it ruined the surprise or not it has phenomenal graphics and looks phenomenal gameplay wise.

Honestly my biggest desire is to focus on the large cast we already have and develop them outside of Sora, as well as making Disney worlds prominent like KH2 and before; now they just feel like pit stops.
I just want the games to ship when they are ready. No rushing. I don't care about news or secrecy as long as what we end up with is worthy of the series we all hold near and dear to our hearts. I can only hope Disney and Square learned their lessons with KH3.

Something that worries me is that eventually, this series will die. Eventually, a portion of fans will be too old to enjoy a game that injects Disney movies (or gimmicks like Disney rides).
Kids in the future may not be interested in playing the whole series of things to enjoy newer installments.
I wish they would allow the story and characters to grow with the audience. But... Who knows.
I hope KH4 is a good experience. I feel like there's a chance we'll also eventually get a KH5 in the future, but... I think at this rate, that'll be the last in the series

How do you think the Marvel Universe will fit in Kingdom Hearts 4
If they wanna introduce Marvel to the series through KH4, they are better off having it appear in a minor aspect first to see if fans would enjoy the idea.
For example, have Sora find a comic book within the world of Quadratum. Then, similar to the Winnie The Pooh book, have him jump inside and meet some Marvel heroes.
Just imagine Sora teaming up with Spider-Man, which makes him learn a new ability to mimic Spider-Man's web swinging (The Chain grappling hook we see Sora do in the KH trailer against the Darkside)
If we get Star Wars, Marvel makes sense to go along with it

I think I might know one of the reasons, correct me if I am wrong, but there is no point of making a game if some people can 'download' it with the jailbreak or can just put any videos on the internet and destroy the game by discussing the plots, the secrets, and different endings. If I were a Video Game maker I wouldn't be motivated at all to program, it wouldn't be profitable, especially if the game does not sell as much as it should have... and stood the test of time, because you can't make a Kingdom Heart every year, or maybe you could but you would have to be very highly motivated.
Also I was also guilty of the modding scene, but now I try to buy everything I own digitally, and if I own a physical copy, or a digital copy just like on Apple, then I can download it off the internet the copies. The modding scene ain't that bad, but there has to be rule, you should wait until a console does not sell anymore, at least that's what I believe, otherwise it's just way too easy, given that some people can afford to buy, and if you buy it serves as friction when you want to avoid minor sins like drinking, going out clubbing, or even smoking marijuana, e.g: If I told you, you could buy either a keg, or the new Kingdom Hearts which one would you choose ? I would go with the Kingdom Hearts.

basically I feel like I don't want to be afraid to criticize something that people consider nostalgic because it seems that after the original when adaptations come out they are met with extreme high expectations that at least to me feel impossible to meet
My stance is that even the originals have their own problems and with KH2 the only reason why it's considered good now is because of final mix, I think that's fair to say because that's all people play, not the PS2 version, and I've seen often enough that the one big reason why adaptations get so much hate and criticism is because everyone compares it to the original that people consider childhood nostalgia
KH3 was hyped up so much that when it finally came out people got disappointed and I think some said it was the worst game they ever played and it's no wonder why, because everyone's expectations were *really* high so the greater expectation the bigger disappointment you feel because that's the way humans and life is designed, KH3 isn't perfect either but I don't think it's as bad as some people say it is and I bring up KH2 because that's the biggest game people compare it too,
to be honest not to sound like I'm hating on KH2 but honestly? If there was no final mix then I'm willing to bet plenty of people would feel differently about KH2 and I think that's fair to say and true because final mix gave KH2 everything it has now and needed to be universally considered good thanks to final mix, it may have had a good story but gameplay wise for instance final mix is better, as much as people hate on KH3 to praise KH2, KH2 wasn't any better until we got final mix but if we didn't have final mix then what?
yes limit form introduced dodge roll but at the end of the day it took them introducing a whole new transformation that wasn't in the original to give us a basic move, we may have dodge roll now but it wasn't there to begin with, I think that's fair to say, I will not be afraid to criticize something people love out of fear that I will get hate for it, nothing is perfect because I like to believe everything has at least one flaw but with some properties like KH3 I do feel like they get a little too much hate, KH2 was good but that's just my opinion, heck the KH3 dlc was good with it adding yozora for instance, I think in every kh game except for KH3 the older keyblades became irrelevant once most people got a newer and more powerful one but KH3 actually makes every keyblade matter thanks to it's keyblade upgrade system, there's even some walls you can run up on which you can't do in any other kh game I think, it's also the only other kh game besides ddd that has flow motion which in my opinion is fun and adds to the experience, the shotlocks can be fun too depending on who you ask, as much hate as KH3 gets, it did do some good in my opinion

Basically the gist of it is his leaks came from a leaked Sega presentation for upcoming games that was traded to him. Also some weird to criminal dirt on him ranging from larping as an asian woman with broken english (midori account), trespassing onto Sega’s property, and being a known abuser.

I’d rather have a giant game than 30 mobile titles and remixes. Why doesn’t SE think about this.. is mobile really that profitable? If I ever make my own IP I have a pretty good story series…I in my own good conscience never sell to Disney or out it on mobile.
Mobile games are actually very profitable because they can target a very wide audience (casuals and gamers) + it's a lot more accessible considering most people around the world own a smartphone compared to a console. That's how things like gachas and microtransactions make a lot of money, you can look up the revenue of particular games or the mobile game industry if you want.
I'm not a big fan of mobile games myself but unfortunately if a company wants to keep funding the game and the people working on it, mobile is sometimes a more sustainable choice. Big IPs see it as an opportunity to attract new fans who could potentially play the games on another platform.
