    Both of those irons are very handy specially the small S20 with the JBC C115clone tips for work on smartphones and the smaller electronics we are always constantly facing. And I think for the S20 30W is enough, not ideal but enough.

    crazy how cool is small one s20 its working its job crazy fast and good from what we can see here ! :) and yeah for 60 its sad you cant use you own better powered power brick or to supply it with bench power supply for example. Great Review bro ! Respect from Serbia! :)

    With such small tips, it would be good to see a test with something else that chip components (2 terminals), for example touching up pins of QFP without causing constant bridges between the leads like many large tips tend to do, or even a QFN.

    I have 6 mini USB-C irons ts-100, ts-80 sequre ts-100 knock-off, the sequre s60, sequre mini solder station, queco solder station, every one uses the ts-100 tips and the smaller version tips, ....
    I find all of these portable irons are outstanding....they all work better than I expected.
    The only kickback is, they are so small physically and can be difficult to get used to compared to a bench solder station with a standard iron.
    Frankly, I would recommend either of the sequre s20 or s60 irons...both are well worth the investment.

    In your title it states the S60 accepts C245 tips, but it's actually C210 tips. Too bad it didn't come with a suitable power supply. It would've been een good option if you were looking for a portable soldering iron elsewise.

      Hello, you can use these two power supply modes, using the 3S power supply of the model battery pack or the 12V5A adapter, S60 can play a larger 60W power, the effect will be better.

      @@SequreTech why not enable the S60 to use standard 20V, 3.25amp PD65W USB-C power supplies that are very common for $15-$25 on market? or if you need more amps a lot of low price 20V-5 amp 100W power supplies USB-C also. any reason you can not enable 20V maximum? Perhaps if you send the schematics and source code to Github Ralim's IRonOS, then a better firmware could be made to work with stronger better PSU even if the customer has to provide the stronger charger?
      Right now Ralim's IronOS firmware can support up to PD3.1 protocol which is the newest USB-C standards of 140w-28V chargers.
      would be nice if Sqqure could work with Ralim so he can port IronOS to Sequre for people who want to switch Sequre firmware to an open source firmware to unlock more power/features? you can contact Ralim on his Github but that would make S60 more popular if you worked with him so that his firmware can load onto your Iron.

      @@nidusa1 Hello, because the maximum voltage supported by the iron head is 12V at present, in this case, the iron head can reach the maximum power, and the life will be more suitable. So we haven't raised the voltage to 20V for the time being, and we will consider adding your suggestion later.
      We are already working on it and I believe you will see results soon.

      My workshop is in a shopping center, at that point I was silent so the omni-direction microphone picked up some sounds that were coming from outside, it could have been a vehicle reversing into the loading area or something like that. I use an audio filter that removes continuous background noise such as the air-con very well, but it can't remove sporadic sounds like that. Sometimes you can hear cars driving past or if the happy clappers are giving it some in the nearby church they are clearly audible

    Not bad but there are cheaper and better ones on Aliexpress, got a cheapo 1 (surprisingly works great) for 2$ and a nice 1 like the S20 for 10$ that works great too. Don't see a point paying 3 - 20 times as much for a "Brand" 1 that does the same thing.

      @@Roman00744 I'm not sure I agree with your view that that the cheapest option is always the best. Whenever I decided to buy anything based solely on price I was always a bit disappointed on the results (whether it was furniture, bathroom suite, TV etc) At the end of the day a sofa, toilet, shower, TV, car etc all do 'the same thing' but I actually believe there is a sweet spot somewhere between price and quality.
      But I am always up to being proved wrong. The cheapest soldering Iron I can find on Aliexpress is this one www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002658628094.html I just searched for 'soldering iron' and put the results into price order lowest to highest, and with postage that one is €4.35. I'll happily buy one and give it a review. If yours was cheaper please post the actual link and I will try it instead and give an honest opinion as always

      @@LearnElectronicsRepair I agree 100% cheapest is almost always is not better in any way, it might be acceptable and if you're lucky you can mod it and make it better yourself and I know it very well as I ordered plenty of cheap crap from Ali, learned pretty fast not to buy the cheapest.
      That said I still think this specific irons are too expensive for what you get, for that price you can but a soldering station with hot air (I did) so this irons are more like back ups or if you need something portable and don't have access to 220V where you need to solder but for that they're too expensive.

      @@LearnElectronicsRepair Sure, I bought a Sequre spot welder and a 5000 mA 100C battery and I had a hard time welding 0.15mm strips, results were inconsistent, welding the same thickness strips was all over the place, was unable to weld 0.2mm at 100ms battery was getting extremely hot and they claim it can weld 0.3mm!! I contacted them explaining my situation and they responded by asking for a video which I provided and they told me that the stick out was short !?!?!? Told them that the shorter the stick out the more current it can carry! Then they stop responding to my e-mail, sent them multiple e-mails with no response, I had to send another e-mail with a different e-mail address, and they responded with the same bu!!shIt again with the stick out and told them that I tried with a longer stick out and it didn't help, I even sent them the thermal image of the battery at 100*c...then they stop responding again....at that time I totally lost it!!!!! I can't write what I told them after that because I will get banned from youtube....😅🤣
      From what I found on the web the battery they sell has a flaw, the negative 10g wire is linked via a thin metal strip to the negative of the battery and that's why the battery is getting hot, well it's not the battery getting hot it's the metal strip. On the website, they have a review section for their products and if you leave a negative comment they will probably delete it, I've left multiple negative comments and they all got deleted. Good luck if you ever need support from them because they couldn't care less!!!

      at this point I think I ordered over a 1000 different items from Aliexpress in the last 10 years and got F*** only 1 time that I couldn't agree with them about a dispute on an item that didn't match the size but they ruled against me so I stopped buying there for a year, that was a few years ago, no problems since.

    • @geoffedwards189

      I guess I have just been lucky so far with Aliexpress. I have had the odd issue on Ebay, but very few that weren't resolved. Both of them are just a bunch of individual sellers and you can get a bad seller on any online platform. I am in Australia and have had more issues with local sellers on Ebay than the overseas ones, but again, very few. When I look at the prices I would pay for the same items in local storefront shops I am happy to have the odd online purchase go wrong. Now that I've said all that, watch my online buying experience all go belly up ..lolol... 😁🤣

    • @LearnElectronicsRepair
      @LearnElectronicsRepair  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In my experience AliExpress gives a very good service and I use them a LOT. The one time I did raise a dispute (wrong item sent), I got a 50% refund and then sold the incorrect item for more than I paid for it. I have had a couple of issues with Mosfets having the wrong pinout compared to the datasheet (but they did work once I kinda botched it to fit on the PCB and the amplifier I was repairing then went on to work just fine) and one occasion where I ordered two different IC (ten of each) from a seller. One batch was OK - LM393 but they sent me some Op-amps instead of LM723. As the cost of the order was less than €2 I just kept the op-amps for stock and reordered the LM723. It was such a low value it was not worth the hassle.
      Anyway I also included links to sequre own website in the video description. with 12% discount at the moment, so if you want one you don't have to buy from AliExpress

    I think they are ok, but the problem is with tip cartridges… from my experience, all chinese hakko knockoffs, gordak, and ersa i used had the same problem, providing the temperature to the top of the tip. Always the blob of solder was’t present at the point of the tip…. So I moved to weller 80w and it was a game changer, but because of the lack of tips i moved to jbc (diy power supply) and original handle + tips (c245)i was amazed! I am curious how is this “pen” behave with original c210 tips…

    • @maks886
      @maks886 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of these knock offs use the same tips as jbc, or are thay just the same on the outside but not the inside? Because I totally see what you mean by the blob not at the end of the tip and I hate it too. Now I wonder if a genuine tip is somehow different internally. I doubt it has anything to do with the stations themselves, as they are just basically controlled switches that let power through to the heating element

    • @justinc9991
      @justinc9991 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maks886 yes you are right, the electronics doesn’t matter that much, is the actual tip or cartridge tip that makes the difference. Professional tips manage to send the heat to the very end of the tip, as the lower quality ones don’t. the reason the solder blob is positioned upper is because the solder floats where the heat is more intense…
