we love you be safe and Emerald put on your seatbelt !!!
Yes....Buckle Up!!
She has it on. 1:16 you can see it. She has the shoulder belt tucked under her arm.
🙂 I grew up with steel dashboards and a little geeezus magnet statue staring at me, zero seatbelts.
Have never touched one, ever. Also ride a massive motorcycle, zero seatbelts there too.
You (or perhaps only me) get so that expecting the unexpected pays huge dividends.
@@sw5334 The shoulder belt won't work unless it's on your shoulder.
@@steven.h0629 Put that on your tombstone.
Glad your family is ok. Keep on logging.
That water coming off those little mountains comes fast when it rains.❤😊
Wow... 😱🤦♂️
Thanks for the tour of the area. 💜🙏🏼
My prayers are with all who were affected by the recent storms. I give thanks for the lives that were spared.
This brings back memories of Agnes in '72. That really changed NY & PA.
Yep! Lost most of 3 basement walls during Agnes in Corning NY. I lost a 100’ oak tree at my home in North Florida to Debbie, then flew around tropical storm Debbie to Corning last Thursday, only to get hit by Debbie again on Friday while hiking. There was some serious flooding in the area.
And Virginia
All that damage is awful. I live in Cedar Rapids, IA. In 2008 we had a bad floor that did a lot of damage to the city. I lost my home in it. You feel so helpless as you watch the water rising but can't do anything about it. Take care
I lived through the 1985 floods here in WV while going to school in Glenville. I was in class watching waterfall and streams coming down the hill where there shouldn't be any.
We knew the flood was coming so we spent all afternoon moving stuff from stores in downtown Glenville, groceries up to the school cafeteria and the feed store's stuff up to their second floor. Then went to the Pub to drink beer.
When the water came through the front door the owner Bobby opened up the cooler and said take what you can. I grabbed two cases of beer and headed home, only to stop and help people get out of their houses. Someone stole my beer.
My girlfriend now wife and I worked at the cafeteria and for the next few days we feed the town and whoever else needed food.
After the flood I helped friends clean out their houses. The mud and stench were terrible.
The flood washed my friend's house away in Petersburg. 38 people died across the state, most over in the Potomac drainage.
For many people there is before 85, and after 85. In 1996 there we had worse floods in the same area but better warning and fewer people and buildings in the floodplain the destruction was a lot less.
And everyone needs to know that the river extends all the way across the floodplain, just not all the time.
I was working as a raft guide at the time and the Cheat River changed dramatically. Several rapids completely changed. The towns of Rowlesburg and Albright were forever changed.
Its a pity this happen. Being from montgomery i know how bad heavy rains tear up our county. Only wonder how much this changes one our quate little towns.
In July South Africa's Western Cape had some real flooding: roads washed away, railway lines washed away, towns completely cut off. The rainiest July on record, I think. 8 days on which there was no rain, and half the year's rainfall in four weeks. I recorded 388. It was pretty damp.
The Dad in me is screaming "put on your seatbelt"!!! As a person who has spent 30 years working with the injured from accidents, I can tell you it WILL save your life.
She has it on the shoulder strap is under her arm the lap belt will keep her in place but the face smash into the airbag won't be fun.
the first seat belt was used in indycar if your going to be in a wreck un hook it please! that was the real use of seat belts! ok my step father was a police man a guy burned up alive in a car the seat belt hung & that all that held him in ps a knife or seat belt ripper or cuter device on or near you please! my dad said!
Still beautiful town! Prayers to all!
When I was in the National Guard we had to help with rescues and recovery from a big flood. That was in Lyons Colorado.
So sad for those affected. Prayers for Relief.
What part of wearing your Seat Belt don't you understand?
I drove through there this winter. Weird to see it like this. Being from West Virginia, floods like this are too common.
I live in Central Pa,. Middleburg area. We received 6" from this, it is what was left from Hurricane Debbie! The steep mts. funneled the water to cause floods! I'm glad this spared you guys !
ACS! 👍👍👍
So terrible for the poor people flooded out hope they recover soon!!
I hope the next video you show us the log yard. So much damage, just had to fathom. Thank you for the update from Missouri.
Glad everyone at the log yard is okay. I remember your video a while back describing the flood your family barely survived. On the bright side, maybe lumber sales will go up as people rebuild and you can help the community by sawing logs.
Even if you don't live in area where is volcanoes. earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes or tsunamis. Sometimes nature just reminds us that no matter where you live, you are alive because nature let's you live. It is like Mother Earth reminds us sometimes that don't forget who is really in charge. I am glad you guys are fine. 👍
Floods are terrible natural disasters. Prayers to all those who are hurt by this disaster. Ladies thank you for sharing this with us.👍♥️♥️
Mostly man made sadly
Ty 😊😊😊😊😊
LOL LOL LOL LOL FLOOD ARE NOT NATURE I TAKE IT U THINK U LIVE ON SPINNING SPACE BALL AND ALL THE LONG LONG WHITE LINES IN SKY ARE JUST CLOUDS HUH
Humanity's impact on nature will only increase unless we embrace the solutions and these sad and expensive events will become more regular.
We are burning 97 million barrels a day currently while the sun delivers enough energy in a couple of minutes to satisfy all our needs for a year.
Wearing a seat belt will save your life if the worst happens, stay safe!

Our city and the province built a floodway channel that goes around our city. Built between 1962 and 68. It circles the city and has higher walls on the inside so if the flood channel gets full, the extra water is pushed out of the city and floods the countryside. It was expaned in 2010 and made deeper and wider. It is called the Red River Floodway and has saved the city of Winnipeg from countless floods since it was built.
MAN EMERALD, I LOVE THE COLOR OF YOUR HAIR AS WELL AS YOUR EYES!!! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! HOPE ALL IS OK UP IN YOUR GUY'S NECK OF THE WOOD'S AS WELL!!!!
Grandpa might remember the flood of 1972 that inundated that area, I lived in Elmira NY at the time.
Seatbelt! Last week on the Weather Channel, I saw that Williamsport was getting hit with wave after wave of rain from Debble. It made me thing of you folks . My last relative moved from Linden to Michigan 8-10 years ago. You are in the Allegheny Mountains so all that water runs down into the valleys. I was in Cogan Station before 1957 when we moved to Maine. I don’t remember a divided highway running north from Williamsport and Cogan Station was just a small town then. No big gas stations with convenience stores. It has been that long since I have been to Trout Run. I remember big floods on the west branch’s river plane 70, or so, years ago. Nothing like what you were hit with last week.
I remember experiencing flooding along the Delaware River. Yardley PA in 2004 and then Lambertville NJ after that. Tough to see residents and businesses suffer like that.
I'm in Westminister, MD and I watched the Weather Channel Friday morning to check the radar and saw that your area was going to be clobbered. I knew from your previous video about your flood experience that your family had moved to higher ground to live. My thoughts and prayers were for the others. I'm glad that there are so few reports of fatalities in the area.
Gorgeous as always Have a wonderful day ❤👍📹from 🇨🇦
Well, at least you don't have to worry about losing power at the logyard ! Trying to dredge my memory of a good flood story, I have none. Can't say for sure but I think if I lived in a flood prone area, I'd move.
Liberty had bad Flooding also, The creek came up to my back door but thankfully that"s all the farther it went, I did have some land damage but I was spared a lot of damage, others had it a lot worse than me, we had 5+ inches of Rain
My family's property is on Larry's Creek in Cogan Station, nobody lives there now. We had to replace the bridge over the creek lots of times, if there was one there now it would most surely have been wiped out. I hope The Crippled Bear made it through!
I live only a few minutes walk from it, it didn't get hit with any water 👍🏻
I was stuck in the 1972 flood from Agnes and when you mentioned the smell of a flood I could smell it to this day. There is just something about it that you never forget. Like being knocked down by the rushing waters because at 10 years old I was dumb enough to go outside and "check out the neighborhood". Thanks mom and dad for letting that happen... Thank goodness you and yours made it through this in one piece.
yea agnes was major ugly 33 foot crest in Harrisburg
I spend months in English Center . And it was flooded out too. Luckily our camp is on top of 287 before you head down to English center . It’s sad for all affected
I live in Jacksonville Florida and water is nothing to fool around with. We have lots of lakes and ditches. We have never flooded 25 yrswith a creek in the end of our property .
Cool video, best of luck to everyone affected. Hope this dont hurt you be able to get logs in to saw and products out. If it does hope its kept to a minimum. Best wishes from Maine
Be safe! Doc.
Here in Houston TX we live with flooding, usually every year and sometimes a real washout like Harvey. That one shut down half the city (2 million people!) for months!
so sorry for the rain, thank God you are ok! ❤
We were camping on Denton Hill last weekend. We road sxs over to Colten point ( Grand Canyon) most of the way was good but lick run road was badly damaged but we were able to get through. And at the bottom of the hill was a road closed sign. They had a backhoe working on our way back.
Prayers for all that were effected by the storm
I live in Florida near where the storm came into. Went almost a week with no power, people's homes flooded, trees thru roofs, some homes just destroyed. Had to cut a path out. I live beside the Suwannee River and its over flood stage right now. I'm glad ya'll are ok, and I will be praying for those affected. Sadly, it seems there is nowhere that a natural disaster can't hit. But, we will survive and rebuild, that's what we do. We are Americans, we don't give up.
Thanks for the video your really good at what you do
Good morning 🌅, or not if you are in a accident, seatbelt seatbelt seatbelt, and I’ve just noticed somebody else has passed comment as well, stay safe, and I’ve seen there has been a huge landslide in BC,
Send some rain my way here in Los Angeles. We have not had any rain at all since Febuary.
I hope all your neighbors are ok and have a fast recovery from this devastating flooding, as I was watching in my mind I could smell it and all of a sudden you were talking about the smell 😮 truly wish best for everyone effected by flooding ✌️
Glad you and, yours are OK best wishes to those dealing with damage!
I am always impressed with how much and how fast water can wreck. My thoughts and prayers for all you neighbors and townsfolks. Glad you are OK!
Our rain gauge showed 9 and 1/2 inches of rain from the remnants of Debby here in central St. Lawrence County, New York. Your video contained many similar impacts to what we experienced. Glad your property and business was spared.
Rain up here had us grounded that day, and out of the woods for the next several. Back at skidding trees today though, and the flying the next day (after the storm) was smooth as glass!
I hope nobody was hurt. God Bless everyone effected. Thanks Emerald ❤❤❤😊
We just barely made it out of the Northeast before the latest floods. Our vacation from the hellish temps of TX was great in Upstate NY and the Adirondacks was fantastic! We even went swimming at Hulls Falls, where your family swam a couple of years ago. It was fantastic! Also swam at Chapel Pond, and at Split Rock Falls on the Boquet River. We heard after we got back that the Ausable and Boquet both had flooding, and Ausable Chasm's waterfalls were hugely overflowing. Hope all the damage near y'all is fixed soon.
I get flooded every once in a while and I can park my kayak right next to the steps. My lake surrounds my house. My house is actually built up on pillars.
Hi, thanks for the video update. Be sending prayers yall's way for all the flood victims. I'm your operation is on high ground.
We also had the same issues over in my neck of the woods .
So sorry for the losses caused by the flood. I hope no one was hurt and that everyone recovers from their property losses soon. The interesting smell you were talking about is called "petrichor". It consists primarily of two substances - geosmin (a type of alcohol) and 2-methylisoborneol. They are produced by a bacteria in the soil, Actinomycetes. What you are breathing in is the spores produced by the bacteria. The rain aerosolized the spores that were present in the soil. The smell is stronger when the rain follows a dry spell because there are more spores at that time, but you pretty much get the smell with any rain. See all the useful things you can learn working in a lumber yard?
I saw the forecast track of the storm and afterwards understood it to have gone North through Williamsport, PA, and on to Utica, NY, before turning East. Terrible natural disaster. My prayers are with all those impacted. LCLY did a great job to show the enormous effort by the community to respond to the storm.
thoughts and prayers sent out for them 🙏 ❤️
I'm very glad you and yours are safe.
thanks for sharing take care
Prayers to all those inundated and those helping dig out!
Water always wins!
Terrible situation, strong destroying,
Wish you better next day than yesterday. I understand how difficult rebuild all of it. Difficult times for business, hope the situation will stabilise soon. Thanks a lot for your videos. It is really interesting and your work need for people around.
I wondered why the trout run exit was closed Tues day! Glad you were spared, went thru a flood in '96. You can fight a fire, but you can't do much about a flood. Prayers for your neighbors.
That is tragic. I am glad you all are safe.
Glad you're family ok in safe
Down here in central North Carolina, we got between 6-12 inches of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Debby. At some points it was coming down at 3 inches per hour. Having lived in the mountains, I understand what that much rain can do. When that much rain falls, the only place for it go is down. Those in the lower valleys are like being in narrow end of a funnel.
Prayers are with you, your family and your neighbors. It will take some time but your community will recover but I,m sure it will. Best wishes.
in the Metro Detroit area, we have the Rouge River. Hines Park is a flood valley, during heavy constant rain the stop-signs set 6" from being completely submerged. it's crazy to see miles of park underwater
Darn near every time it rains hard.
Hines is a lake when it rains hard, as intended. Pretty bad around Van Born/Telegraph too and parts of Ann Arbor Trail
Hines Drive is functioning as planned when it rains hard. I live in the Detroit area and I’m accustomed to the jokes about someone spilled a cup of coffee, so Hines Drive is closed. 💦🤣
The Rouge River flows through that area and Hines Park is part of the river’s floodplain.
@JesseJames-wj8ft if you mean nature did it, absolutely. was always fun driving the Mustang from Northville to Dearborn in winter drifting the entire way. the floods were always impressive, but traffic was crazy
Wow girls I am happy for you and your family is ok not getting
I grew up just north of there and went through a really nasty flood many years ago up in Tioga county. The combination of hills and valleys and inches of rain DO NOT mix! And Em's right about the smell. It's a combination of earthy and nasty and just gets worse as things dry out...
Thanks again
Prayers for your community, so sad when a happy small creek turns into a raging river.
Our city is 4-7ft above sea level so any time we get hard rain for 30+ hours, it floods. You can take a kayak through our downtown area. Lol. I’m in Southeast Georgia on the coast.
I live in south eastern Minnesota. We had a massive flood here in 1978 tons of rain similar to your situation. Boats were going down some of the streets which was hilarious and itself. I remember well I was 14 years old.
Kindergarten story time
@@bertblue9683 what are you talking about?
City where I currently live deals with floods every few years as the Red river from Fargo ND all the way up to Winnipeg Manitoba floods. The city built a river diversion channel that helps out a lot. Where I grew up it was forest fires that we had to worry about
Prayers to those who suffered loss and need recovery. I've been in multiple hurricanes / typhoons, one major earthquake, a deadly tornado, and wildfires. No major floods, though. Water can be a quite destructive force.
My heart go out to all those affected by that flooding. So sad to see such destruction.
Great video!
I'm Glad you guys are Alright! I hope everyone else made it through safely !
My thoughts are with your community. I'm sure you all will build back better and be stronger as a result.
Yeah I live in northern Ny and we got hit hard. The entire first floor of my house filled with a few inches of water. We had to throw out all our furniture and are still cleaning up.
หวังว่าทุกอย่างจะดีขึ้นเข้าสู่ภาวะปกติในไม่ช้า เป็นกำลังใจให้กับผู้ประสบภัยทุกคน
wow! Hope no one was seriously hurt! Thanks for the update! Down here in the District-DC we get no updates for where it matters.
great video, glad you guys avoided the worst
I just lived through the hurricane just north of where it came ashore in North Florida. Trees down. Roads were all blocked. I live on a tree farm. Dirt roads all around. At least 8 inches of rain. Lost power for almost 2 days. My old mobile home is covered by and surrounded by downed trees and my travel trailer where I had hoped to move back to is trashed and is now a wreck. Had to cut a path out. But we were lucky. The one last year was much worse.
Prayers for all of those effected. BSafe. BBlessed
We had 7 3/4 rain washed out our roads,, frenchville Pa
Prayers going out to all affected. Back in 1996 (bought house in 1994) we had a torrential downpour come through and I ended up with three feet of water in my basement. FEMA came through and considered it a disaster area and I ended up getting a check for around $3k. All in all it cost me another $2k just for the cleanup and mold removal. Good news is that I went to my parents house, who were gone, and saved their massive Dept. 56 Christmas village from the water. They were lucky and only got about 6". Best of luck to all involved...
Greetings Emerald and Jade. The flood of July 19 1996 devastated several communities near the red bank creek in Jefferson county PA.My parents home their grocery store and rental properties were destroyed.I was there with my sister to help our disabled parents get to the attic of their home until a rescue boat arrived. My heart goes out to all the folks who have suffered loss in your community.
I'm sorry for the subject, but great coverage video Em and Jade. Thanks much.
People are going to need lots of fresh lumber for repairs.
We had 6 1/2 “ of rain 6 miles south of there!
I had a nagging feeling some of the remnants of that hurricane was going to come up through your area. The dry ground just can't soak up all that rain and this is the outcome. So glad you are all safe. Praying everyone affected recover quickly.
The rain had Caribbean smell to it. The same smell when it rains while at sea in the Caribbean Sea.
I remember a previous video that flooded your place. Good luck on rebuilding 🎉
In 2007, I was flooded out of my trailer and lost almost everything. I now live on a hilltop in Maine, which I consider to be a much safer location. Sorry for your losses. I hope things can return to normal pretty soon.
One big Fam. Take care of
Each other. Be Good
My parents washed away in 1961 i was a little over a year old. The lost everything. And insurance never covers the items with memories. Foto's equipement basicly everything. Thanks for sharing wishing all the best. ❤
So happy you and the fam are ok. The Earth gets angry sometimes. Is what it is. Helping you're neighbors is a good Human thing to do.
The Flooding was bad up here North Central PA too. Westfield & Harrison Valley area got hit really hard.
What a mess. So sorry to see that happened to your town. Glad you and your family are OK.
The weather events have played havoc in the region.
I remember your Dad said he moved after youn's lived through a different flood.
