Ladies this may help. In our mill over 60 years ago we used to hang single burlap sacking ,aterial in front of opening and windows. Put a water container under them which will wick up. The moisture evaporates cooling wind air can still circulate cool air as well they act as blinds. Our year round meathouse was over a small creek with a trough running water through it. Burlap was tacked to the outside of both water entry/exit up the walls a burlap hung in the middle and wicked up the inside. We would wipe it down with vinigar then just used pepper to cover the meat every time we cut out out steaks or roast. Kept it bug free.😊
Have been working on a major bridge project almost 2 years, almost a tossup which is worse hot or cold. We have to wear complete safety gear including high vis vest, hardhats, safety glasses, fall protection harness, gloves, steel toe boots ect, alls I can say is people adapt to conditions or they drag up and go home, seen quite a few who could not handle the job conditions and working constant heights. Right now I am working in an area that is mostly shaded so that helps, but hot, cold wet or dry I don't complain
Emerald I like the how you started your video & that's good that you & Jade got to cool with your dog by the lake after you finished your wood work chopping! 🙂🐶📹🪵🏞
Paint that roof white - Vent near roof. Open hole in floor and add vent. Cover bottom to create cool zone. Put mild air mover in floor under vent or in roof.
Swimming on a hot day in a creek, river, or lake can't be beat. Looks like you had a blast! One thing that I found to help cool you off on a scorcher is an electric fan that has a water-misting device on it. It is a tiny amount of water, but combined with the breeze from the fan, cools through evaporation on your skin. They are incredible on a super hot day.
Yea it's hot and humid down here in Cumberland County Emerald. I'm almost two hours away from your location. Route 15 is literally right outside my door lol
Between the scenery and the mill it brings back memories of spending time with my grandfather in the U.P. and Northern Wi. I can remember going to the lumber mill to pick up wood for his projects and just walking around looking at the logs when I was youngef.
Hello , Good morning from Canada, Calgary City, watching your video you look so different to do show how you can do as strong girl as a men proud of you keep going , god keep and safe , blessing all your family there.
That's takes me back to helping my dad do tents for events and doing the wet the towel trick around the neck too, And i love the ending there in the water to cool off
Ladies in 40 years when you're my age think back on these days and smile. By then you may have the biggest log yard in PA. I HOPE SO. Excellent job ladies thank you for sharing.👍♥️♥️
To help cool your shack, try using a hand pumped sprayer to spray a bit of water on the metal roof. The evaporation cools it. It can make quite a difference.
It's getting hotter here in Central New Jersey. Low to mid nineties tomorrow and humid. Friday is gonna be the beast, 97° with a heat index of 103°. All this just 5 miles from the ocean.
Down here in the Deep South when it's hot like this I start working at first lite 6:00 am and work till 2:30 . Then stick a fork in me I'm done for the day . Great Video
I'm getting the mill ready now. I live in Washington. I got my mill set up under some shade until 9:00 am. From there I don't care if it 70 or 95. It's just hot 🔥 I know how you feel. You just keep on keeping on. Good job lady's.
Awesome job working in the heat , you must live in a very honest community with the yard so open. Where I’m am the locks need locks and if it has wheels a gps tracker is essential, I hope all the best in the future and please keep the channel going.❤😊
Thank you. I always learn so much on this channel, From "The Jewel of the Nile" I learn all about hard work, dedication, self-sacrifice, determination, and the power of beauty. From the "Little Old Log Lady" I learned today what the word "cantankerous" means.
I grew up in northern Louisiana in the 50's and 60's. Other than a few mild winter days it was always hot and humid. Summers temps went into the high nineties and on occasion 100 degrees plus. I worked many summer jobs in construction and onland gas pipeline construction and maintenance out in the blazing sun. We wore hats and drank lots of water and managed to survive . I think it is a matter of acclimation. Air conditioning was a luxury that most people couldn't afford, so our cars/homes not being air-conditioned probably helped to that extent.
Being acclimated helps. AC also helps give your body a break while you sleep. However if you are working in high heat all the time, one should not get cold with the AC, just knock the humidity and the temperature down a bit.
Try wrapping the wet towel around your neck, much better results. Long hours, 97 per week in Az. desert heat forced me to learn that trick!! Really works!!
Ac uses a lot of juice. some misters by the fan will work great for little power, probably solar . I lived in Vegas, I know working in the heat. Great job
Emerald you may not believe it but the temp. Where I live is in the 90s and aweful humidity. Tha catch is I. In the far north of Ontario Canada just south of James Bay. This is unheard of.
that was my thought, too, but i wonder if they have the water supply for it? they rely on caught rainwater. I suppose they could filter some creek water for the mister supply but all this just keeps getting more complex, more things to do...
About those blades - someone else suggested figuring how many board feet you’re getting before snapping/replacing. I agree. But it sounds like somebody at the blade maker got lazy and didn’t correctly spec the alloy used for the 70 blades. Maybe even just decided to use the same metal as the 40 blades but thicker/wider. Without doing the testing, that ain’t gonna fly. Just curious if other LT70 owners are having similar issues, where they get their blades and all that. Good luck! Btw, after a hot, humid & stormy day in the mid 80s yesterday, it’s barely over 70° now. Ahhhh…👍
Bossman Dad reads these, Hopefully he read yours as it echos my thoughts. Time to try other blade makers, and document results. Previously suggested by others, tempering the welds, including DYI, could be important. 2 hours seems short and time consuming but necessary as they do not weld broken ones. (Trivia; weld is stronger than blade but welding weakens the surrounding metal.)
good morning, love your channel. Talking about heat and humidity I live in Florida and last week in was 101 degrees in the shade. Which is normal for us but we usually not until about July or Aug. But we have no snow and very little cold so for that I am thankful. By the way, glad to see Jade in more video's. God Bless from Florida.

take the wet rag or towel and hang it right in front of the box fan ( touching the fan case)... We call that a "swamp cooler" here. Works well...
