As a Jew who was raised a Christian and has read extensively on Islam ( I once considered conversion)- I think this man is speaking honestly and his sentiments are echoed by the leaders of the other two major Abrahamic faiths. We cannot possibly or honestly merge- but we can acknowledge some values we hold in common and use those as a starting point for dialogue.

Clearly, insofar as Yeshua is the transparent revelation of the light he alone must be attended. There are not many lights but one only. His absolute authority is to be found in that light. As such, He is the end (telos) toward which all the righteous have aimed. He reveals the law to Moses and God's word to Elijah. He is the pillar of cloud and fire which goes before Israel in the wilderness and the stone which, according to Rabbinic tradition and Paul, rolls behind them. At the same time, insofar as Moses and Elijah also indicate that light to men they are on a par with the man Yeshua. The authority is not in his visable manhood but in the light which that manhood reveals. In another place Yeshua says, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one come to the Father, but by me." Although Christian's have often used this text to justify their claim to sole possession of the truth, this is not necessarily the most obvious meaning. Rather, it would appear that Yeshua - speaking as the light - is saying that anyone who does come to the Father comes to him through the illuminating Logos. Thus the Winnebago Indian who calls upon the Great Spirit does so through the Logos. The words which Mohammed heard and wrote down as the Koran came from the Logos. The enlightenment of Gautama under the Bodhi tree comes through the Logos. In other words, in Yeshua one finds revealed that light which is the source of all illumination. Yeshua is the light of the cosmos and it is the light which activates the inner eye of man to see the unseeable and know the unknowable. The revelation which Yeshua brings is not unique, particular, and Western but is absolutely universal. The Messiah is ruler of the cosmos. The light, however, is always apprehended within a particular culture and at a particular time in history of man. The tradition which develops in response to revelation must, by definition, take on a definite, historical form. When Peter saw Yeshua on the mountain he saw him with Moses and Elijah, not with Confucius and Lao-Tse. Revelation never takes place in a cacuum. This means that although the light of Christ is universal, the Christian Church is not. Its symbols, doctrines, and traditions arose out of response to the light in the Greco-Roman and then primarily European world. It is a Western response to the Logos, not a purely universal response. Rather than trying to impose such Western cultural traditions upon others, the followers of the light ought first to open their eyes to the ways in which the light has already been revealed elsewhere. After all, the light which breaks forth under the Bodhi tree is, to use a Western term, Christos. So is the light which shimmers through the passes of the Tao Teh Ching, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Koran. There is no need to take Christ to the nations; he is already there. This is not to say that there are not profound differences among the religions of mankind. Islam and Buddhism and Hinduism and Christianity surely do not agree about many issues. All of the various traditions have responded to the light in their own ways. All have also been profoundly corrupted over and over again by the darkness of the deluded. The ancient Jewish Pharisees whom Yeshua attacked had no monopoly on blindness. Repeatedly the ego manages to return to corrupt human belief and action. Nor does Christianity have any immunity to the temptations of the ego. From a neutral vantage point it would be difficult to argue that Christianity's testimony to the light is ultimately purer than that of mankind's other religions. At the same time, it is fruitless to think that one can "get behind" all the religions of mankind and distill the essence of true religion. The essence of religion is unknowable, unimaginable, incomprehensible. As we have already said, Theos can only be spoken of negatively or mythologically. The first method simply cuts away the useless linguistic dross; the second method already presupposes a particular cultural tradition. The myth of the transfiguration of Yeshua is set within a Western Asian symbol system. There is no need or purpose, then, in founding another new, universal religion. What men must do is stop worrying about which tradition is the correct one and open their eyes to the light as it is attested to by their own tradition. Once it is apprehended there, it will be seen playing everywhere. Every tree in the backyard is potentially a Bodhi tree and a Cross. It may well be objected, however, that although "universalism" is attractive to many modern men, it is hardly to be found in the Bible. One is reminded of those repeated prophetic attacks upon the vanity of pagan religious practices and beliefs. Is not much of the Bible devoted to a wholesale rejection of idolatry? People who subscribe to traditional Judaism consider Moses to be the most important prophet. People who consider themselves catholic or orthodox or protestant consider Jesus to be the most important prophet. People who subscribe to Islam consider Muhammad to be the most important prophet. No matter how many other doctrines those groups have in common (and there are many commonalities), the members of those different groupings - although all of them consider their their religious beliefs and practices to be “Abrahamic” - will never agree about which is the most important prophet except under real or implied coercion. Some decades ago, in conversation with one of my wife’s brothers-in-law, he used the word, “Israel”, in a way that seemed to indicate that he understood its meaning differently than I do. I didn’t have my Strong's Concordance with me so, rather than respond verbally to what he had said, I decided to wait until I got home and write him a letter explaining my understanding of that word. I figured the letter would be two or maybe three pages. As I began to write, I kept thinking of more and more ways to explain my understanding of “Israel”. When my “letter” reached fifty pages, I decided to include some things I had written previously and call it a book “manuscript”. I titled it, Abraham, Father of the Faithful (subtitle: Who will inherit what was promised to Abraham?). The short version of my 60-page manuscript is that those will inherit what was promised to Abraham who have the faith of Abraham. Did the Saul of Tarsus acquire the faith of Abraham in a moment? Well, maybe, but I’m more inclined to point out that Saul (later Paul, the apostle) was already very knowledgeable with regard to the Hebrew scriptures so what happened to him on the road to Damascus was that he suddenly realized how the prophecies of the Hebrew prophets of antiquity fit together in ways he had chosen to ignore until then. Although I consider Jesus to be the most important prophet, he, too, built his teachings on the Hebrew scriptures - perhaps Moses in particular. Because his interpretations of those scriptures differed from the then-current rabbinical traditions, the majority of the Sanhedrin rejected both Jesus and his teachings but (to quote Benjamin Franklin) “I think his system of morals and his religion, as he left them to us, the best the world ever saw or is likely to see;...” Because Ben Franklin didn’t specifically afirm the divinity of Jesus, there is wide swath of people who consider themselves Christians and who would consider Franklin to be an “infidel”. Although I consider Jesus to be fully divine, I’m not as willing to consider Franklin to be any less Christian than the fundamentalists who are so quick to judge him. I think the faith of Abraham grew over time - and that anyone who has the faith of Abraham today is in a process of developing faith. Who am I to say that someone whose beliefs and practices are different from mine is any less faithful than I am?
Muslim, Jews, and Christian all worship the God of Abraham, the true God. God seek whats in your heart, there is no point being clever reciting all the Torah/Bible/Quran verses but the heart is full of deceit.
At the end of the day we(three major religions) agree on enough to the point that we can all agree that peace and love needs to come first but to try and merge the three as they stand would be a mess . A committee to encourage peace and understanding amongst us is good but a new major religion would be its own new thing and could be seen as the platform the antichrist will use to rise to power.

We will never have world peace as long as religion is at the forefront of global politics, territorial disputes, and “terrorism” (xenophobia to counter it). If everyone on earth actually decided to agree anyways, how long until some jackass “hears the words of god” and starts another new religion and we start all over? It’s futile to think about these things, just don’t force your religion on others, live your life for yourself and your family, and uphold your personal values as best as you can. It is a GREAT idea. Abrahamia is Islam (submission to one God) because that is what God gave shared with Moses, Jesus, and finally to Mohammad. No one is making up anything or a new religion, rather unifying all the children of one God. Open up your mind and see the TRUTH. Quran clearly tell us that. Same God gave laws to Moses, Jesus, and then to Mohammad. We ALL are Muslims (person who believes in one God and submits to God's will). Actually Islam is the Abrahamic religion according to Quran. He named us Muslim. And our Prophet was commanded to follow the religion of Abraham. All the rituals including salah, siyam, hajj, zakat initiated from him. The scriptures of Jews and Christians are fabricated and changed overtime. But the Quran has its pure form. I used to be an atheist (maybe still am) . But i have no problem in accepting the 'Abrahamic ' concept. If there's a god, it is beyond human brain. So, we can't 'see,hear, detect' it. That's the reason it can't be 'captured' in any idol, human, tree etc.. because these are things that can be perceived by human brain .... anything that is a creaTION is not the creaTOR ..... all idols, trees, humans etc are made of atoms/energy etc.... we all are a part of spacetime continuum. Abrahamic god is something beyond the bigbang , not a 'part' of our detectable universe.... now keep in mind, Abraham presented this idea at a time when humans used to 'worship' clouds,sun,river etc, as if the river had a 'brain' of it's own and would listen to people's prayers to provide them food(fish). What then is the relationship between Yeshua and all those other pious and holy men of religion, the lawgiver and prophets of world history? Clearly, insofar as Yeshua is the transparent revelation of the light he alone must be attended. There are not many lights but one only. His absolute authority is to be found in that light. As such, He is the end (telos) toward which all the righteous have aimed. He reveals the law to Moses and God's word to Elijah. He is the pillar of cloud and fire which goes before Israel in the wilderness and the stone which, according to Rabbinic tradition and Paul, rolls behind them.
At the same time, insofar as Moses and Elijah also indicate that light to men they are on a par with the man Yeshua. The authority is not in his visable manhood but in the light which that manhood reveals. In another place Yeshua says, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one come to the Father, but by me." Although Christian's have often used this text to justify their claim to sole possession of the truth, this is not necessarily the most obvious meaning. Rather, it would appear that Yeshua - speaking as the light - is saying that anyone who does come to the Father comes to him through the illuminating Logos. Thus the Winnebago Indian who calls upon the Great Spirit does so through the Logos. The words which Mohammed heard and wrote down as the Koran came from the Logos. The enlightenment of Gautama under the Bodhi tree comes through the Logos. In other words, in Yeshua one finds revealed that light which is the source of all illumination. Yeshua is the light of the cosmos and it is the light which activates the inner eye of man to see the unseeable and know the unknowable. The revelation which Yeshua brings is not unique, particular, and Western but is absolutely universal. The Messiah is ruler of the cosmos.
The light, however, is always apprehended within a particular culture and at a particular time in history of man. The tradition which develops in response to revelation must, by definition, take on a definite, historical form. When Peter saw Yeshua on the mountain he saw him with Moses and Elijah, not with Confucius and Lao-Tse. Revelation never takes place in a cacuum.
This means that although the light of Christ is universal, the Christian Church is not. Its symbols, doctrines, and traditions arose out of response to the light in the Greco-Roman and then primarily European world. It is a Western response to the Logos, not a purely universal response. Rather than trying to impose such Western cultural traditions upon others, the followers of the light ought first to open their eyes to the ways in which the light has already been revealed elsewhere. After all, the light which breaks forth under the Bodhi tree is, to use a Western term, Christos. So is the light which shimmers through the passes of the Tao Teh Ching, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Koran. There is no need to take Christ to the nations; he is already there.
This is not to say that there are not profound differences among the religions of mankind. Islam and Buddhism and Hinduism and Christianity surely do not agree about many issues. All of the various traditions have responded to the light in their own ways. All have also been profoundly corrupted over and over again by the darkness of the deluded. The ancient Jewish Pharisees whom Yeshua attacked had no monopoly on blindness. Repeatedly the ego manages to return to corrupt human belief and action. Nor does Christianity have any immunity to the temptations of the ego. From a neutral vantage point it would be difficult to argue that Christianity's testimony to the light is ultimately purer than that of mankind's other religions.
At the same time, it is fruitless to think that one can "get behind" all the religions of mankind and distill the essence of true religion. The essence of religion is unknowable, unimaginable, incomprehensible. As we have already said, Theos can only be spoken of negatively or mythologically. The first method simply cuts away the useless linguistic dross; the second method already presupposes a particular cultural tradition. The myth of the transfiguration of Yeshua is set within a Western Asian symbol system. There is no need or purpose, then, in founding another new, universal religion. What men must do is stop worrying about which tradition is the correct one and open their eyes to the light as it is attested to by their own tradition. Once it is apprehended there, it will be seen playing everywhere. Every tree in the backyard is potentially a Bodhi tree and a Cross.
It may well be objected, however, that although "universalism" is attractive to many modern men, it is hardly to be found in the Bible. One is reminded of those repeated prophetic attacks upon the vanity of pagan religious practices and beliefs. Is not much of the Bible devoted to a wholesale rejection of idolatry?

People who subscribe to traditional Judaism consider Moses to be the most important prophet. People who consider themselves catholic or orthodox or protestant consider Jesus to be the most important prophet. People who subscribe to Islam consider Muhammad to be the most important prophet. No matter how many other doctrines those groups have in common (and there are many commonalities), the members of those different groupings - although all of them consider their their religious beliefs and practices to be “Abrahamic” - will never agree about which is the most important prophet except under real or implied coercion.
Some decades ago, in conversation with one of my wife’s brothers-in-law, he used the word, “Israel”, in a way that seemed to indicate that he understood its meaning differently than I do. I didn’t have my Strong's Concordance with me so, rather than respond verbally to what he had said, I decided to wait until I got home and write him a letter explaining my understanding of that word. I figured the letter would be two or maybe three pages.
As I began to write, I kept thinking of more and more ways to explain my understanding of “Israel”. When my “letter” reached fifty pages, I decided to include some things I had written previously and call it a book “manuscript”. I titled it, Abraham, Father of the Faithful (subtitle: Who will inherit what was promised to Abraham?).
The short version of my 60-page manuscript is that those will inherit what was promised to Abraham who have the faith of Abraham.
Did the Saul of Tarsus acquire the faith of Abraham in a moment?
Well, maybe, but I’m more inclined to point out that Saul (later Paul, the apostle) was already very knowledgeable with regard to the Hebrew scriptures so what happened to him on the road to Damascus was that he suddenly realized how the prophecies of the Hebrew prophets of antiquity fit together in ways he had chosen to ignore until then.
Although I consider Jesus to be the most important prophet, he, too, built his teachings on the Hebrew scriptures - perhaps Moses in particular. Because his interpretations of those scriptures differed from the then-current rabbinical traditions, the majority of the Sanhedrin rejected both Jesus and his teachings but (to quote Benjamin Franklin) “I think his system of morals and his religion, as he left them to us, the best the world ever saw or is likely to see;...”
Because Ben Franklin didn’t specifically afirm the divinity of Jesus, there is wide swath of people who consider themselves Christians and who would consider Franklin to be an “infidel”.
Although I consider Jesus to be fully divine, I’m not as willing to consider Franklin to be any less Christian than the fundamentalists who are so quick to judge him.

At the end of the day we(three major religions) agree on enough to the point that we can all agree that peace and love needs to come first but to try and merge the three as they stand would be a mess . A committee to encourage peace and understanding amongst us is good but a new major religion would be its own new thing and could be seen as the platform the antichrist will use to rise to power.

If everyone on earth actually decided to agree anyways, how long until some jackass “hears the words of god” and starts another new religion and we start all over? It’s futile to think about these things, just don’t force your religion on others, live your life for yourself and your family, and uphold your personal values as best as you can. I used to be an atheist (maybe still am) . But i have no problem in accepting the 'Abrahamic ' concept. If there's a god, it is beyond human brain. So, we can't 'see,hear, detect' it. That's the reason it can't be 'captured' in any idol, human, tree etc.. because these are things that can be perceived by human brain .... anything that is a creaTION is not the creaTOR ..... all idols, trees, humans etc are made of atoms/energy etc.... we all are a part of spacetime continuum.
