This guy made me want to start praying again. Islam was never meant to be hard, unaccepting, punishing, and black and white. Dr Shabir you truly showed us that
I have always been uncomfortable around scholars and mullahs because it always looked like they had made it their personal responsibility to decide who was going to hell and who deserved heaven, but Dr. Shabir ia an amazing man. He understands religion, he understands muslims as well as non- muslims and he understands the times we live in. He is very non-judgemental and explains the matters in a beautiful way. I love his lectures. He has made me so much more comfortable with my religion.
I am not muslim and came upon this channel on pure coincidence. I am so pleasantly surprised about the level of intellect and realistic talk. I know that there are thousands of different opinions in every religion, but unfortunately the very conservative side of Islam is often seen as the norm. I am right now feeling a bit dumb to subconsciously have conformed to that narrative.
LOL. So you're basically saying "If you want to know Muslim opinions, ignore all of the examples of Muslims who are tolerant and pay attention to the ones who aren't because it supports my narrative." Basically skew your research in favor of biases. What an idiotic statement.
@@emperordavid2044 I think they meant that in Islam you're not allowed to show your feelings you stay in the closet forever and if you told a person just don't tell anyone and there is a reward for those who follow the order of Allah
@@emperordavid2044 being patient with their desires because sexual desire is very hard to control and god will reward those who are patient or those who repent
im actually a bit dissapointed at people who say Dr.Shabir is "too open-minded and westernized" as well as people praising Dr. Shabir for "spreading tolerance". This isn't politics, this is Islam. I so appreciate the way he (and tbh the whole program) focuses purely on the quran and validity of hadith when it comes to answering questions. Notice how he starts with "the quran..." and most scholars start with something that usually goes along the lines of "homosexuality is an ungodly sin punishable by the hellfires!!!".
Exactly some people mistakenly and sadly are under the impression that Islam means oppression, no laugh, no smiling, no joking, no enjoying things, you have to miserable and die miserable in order to get to Paradise, which is in fact the opposite of what Islam teaches. Shabir Ally is someone who goes by the book so to speak, at least he tries, but you have some of the zealots who seem to think Islam is all about being inconsiderate, insensitive, unkind, uncharitable etc.. They also seem to think Islam is all about force, and unfortunately that is the image they are selling to the non-muslim world. All Wahhabi type mindset, and half of them are hypocrites because behind close doors they probably do worse. Anyway Shabir Ally like most of us who wants to go by what the Qu'ran teaches and not by what some Saudi (Wahhabi doctrine ) teaches. Allah knows best.
and most scholars start with something that usually goes along the lines of "homosexuality is an ungodly sin punishable by the hellfires!!!". Total agreement there, those usually borrow stuff from the OT, many silly stories were lifted straight from the OT. Islam is and should be different, a bit like stoning they invent so called Hadiths to implement something that is totally alien to the Qu'ran and Allah's laws. How can the highest form of corporal punishment is 100 lashes and these people tried very hard to implement stoning as an acceptable punishment in our Islamic teachings. 1) This was a punishment invented mostly by the ancient pagan civilisations such as Rome. 2) It was later introduced and added to the "Bible" (OT) 3) Later it reached us through the backdoor via way of so called Hadith. So Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him knows better than his creator? Wow, or Allah forgot to include it in the Qu'ran? Oh dear may Allah guide all of us insha Allah.
@@naimamohamed6231 Dear sister, for the love and sake of Allah, adding stuff to what Allah decreed is one of the biggest sins. In Hadiths also says we can stone adulterers, although the Qu'ran specifically points at the highest punishment is 100 lashes, so according to you we should ignore (as usual) what Allah says, and believe some Hadith written by someone unknown, which he borrowed straight from the OT. So what makes your Qu'ran so special if you're doing exactly what the Bible says and does? There is no mention about a great sin. "Musrifun" means spoilers or wasters nothing to do with transgressors, and there is no mention of Haram, or sin. I don't care if there 10 000 Hadiths, any Hadith that contradicts the Qu'ran I don't accept it, period! I am not the one judging sister, you are the one holding judgements using vague Qu'ranic passages to judge others, unless we misunderstood each other. I don't judge anyone, on the contrary, I am not perfect so I will not point a finger at anyone.
@@calonstanni i just wanna remind you, if you have any doubt or question, dont be shy to refer to any muslims or people that have knowledge about quran. It helps you expand your knowledge, and hopefully your faith
Apart from the scientific mistakes, and the verses about killing non-believers, and the marriage of female children, and the verses about the burning in hell of non-Muslims, I believe you'll like the verses about Zakat, which is a portion of your money, you have to give the poor every year after Ramadan, and how to treat and obey the parents, and the description of the legendary garden of Eden, etc. It is an interesting book about the time it was written in (no offence to Muslims)
This man is so respectful and non judgemental about others belief system, orientation etc God bless you Dr. Shabir Ally... You've earned yourself a big fan .God bless 🙂🙂
Dr Shabir forgot this verse in the Holy Quran: It is clearly stated in the Holy Quran: “And (remember) Lut (Lot), when he said to his people: ‘Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the ‘Aalameen (mankind and jinn)? Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins)’” [al-A’raaf 7:80-81] It is very clearly mentioned in this verse that the people of Lut were engaging in homosexuality and it was a manifest sin. Many other verses imply the same meaning and verdict without any disagreement or discrepancy on the matter.
Exactly. I read the whole Holy Qur'an every Ramadan and also surahs during regular days along the year, and you CAN'T miss the part about the people of Lot and the whole story of Sodom And Gomorrah. As soon as he started explaining what The Qur'an DOESN'T say about homosexuality I knew what was up instantly. You can't give sideways answers like this as a true Muslim.
@@ceed3d396i think you’re misunderstanding him. he said that Quran does not EXPLICITLY talk about homosexuality. it doesn’t directly say that homosexuality needs to be condemned and is a punishable act. HOWEVER it has been hinted in the Quran that it is impermissible to practice homosexuality. and that is what dr shabbir has talked about in this video. he never said homosexuality is allowed. he clearly provided evidence from the Quran which indirectly talks about homosexuality being unacceptable.
Dr Ally sends the most tolerant message on this issue I have heard from a Muslim scholar in a long time. Indeed the Bible is a lot more hateful than the Quran. But the Muslim majority countries still have a long way to go on how to deal with gay men and women.

So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers]. And We rained upon them a rain [of stones]. Then see how was the end of the criminals. Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people."
In Qur'an,if something is forbidden the prohibition will be written clear, like don't drink wine, do not eat pork, etc. All of them are clearly written forbidden but not to homosexuality
He never said it doesn't talk about homosexuality lmao. Did you guys even watch the video? All he said was there's no clearcut prescribed punishment for someone who's homosexual, unlike how there are punishments for people who commit theft or adultery.
i love how dr.Shabir is not afraid to give a non bias, straight to the point explanation even if it is not the popular understanding. so many imams and leaders will tell a sensationalized opinion, ignoring real truth, just because it is'nt popular.
And have you ever read these verses from the Quran before doing this video: (Translated from Arabic) 7:80. And Lout, when he said to his people, “Do you commit lewdness no people anywhere have ever committed before you?” 7:81. “You lust after men rather than women. You are an excessive people.” 7:82. And his people's only answer was to say, “Expel them from your town; they are purist people.” 7:83. But We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who lagged behind. 7:84. And We rained down on them a rain; note the consequences for the sinners.
Islam is unequivocally clear on the prohibition of homosexuality although the punishment for it has not been ordained on earth. Surah Al-Rum Chapter 30, verse 22. "And of His signs is that He has created wives for you from among yourselves so that you may find peace of mind in them..." There are other verses where heterosexuality has been deemed the clear law of nature in the Holy Quran. This much should be very clear. What should be remembered is that there is no punishment mentioned by Allah for this so Muslims should remember not to take ANY justice for this in their own hands. Easy rule to remember is "Love for all hatred for none". You won't change hearts or even opinions by violence. Peace and Love (As practiced by our master the Holy Prophet (saw)) is the biggest and most effective method of reasoning.
+Zackery Silas hmmm...errr...well..your comment is a little confusing... . what the heck are you doing on this SPECIFIC forum if you don't want to hear what the Quran says about this TOPIC.. genius!!!
+Zackery Silas Your juvenile comment only shows that your understanding of the Holy Quran is at par with the extremist and terrorist understanding of the Holy Quran - YOU BOTH HAVE NOT READ IT!!! NOWHERE does Allah permit Muslims to force Islamic law on ANY land that is not a Muslim ruled country. In fact, if you had EVER read the Quran you would know, that Allah COMMANDS the Muslims to abide by the law of the land in which they live in. If they feel they cannot do that then they should move to a country that they can abide the law of... but abide they MUST! 'Western Liberal Values' ..... you sure you have a unanimous definition that everyone can agree on??? don't forget MANY Christians, Jews and even Atheist who disagree with homosexuality.... you want to kick them our of Canada as well??? some liberal values you have!!!! the minute someone disagrees with you you want to kick em out of Canada.... that's hypocrisy... try to listen to what others have to say and respect everyone even if you don't agree with them.. THAT is liberal values and quiet frankly EXACTLY what the Holy Quran teaches... and no I won't leave Canada because it is my land just as much as it is yours. Live with that!
+Zackery Silas ... Can you point out in my comments where I am forcing you to believe or pushing my beliefs on you ??? However, you, on the other hand, have been very forceful in pushing your beliefs by telling me and all Muslims to leave YOUR country if we don't agree with your 'Liberal values'... like I said, I find people like you just as much of hypocrites as the extremist of ANY RELIGION. You only want to spread hatred against people who disagree with you because you have made up your mind that they are all 'evil'. I'm not really interested in changing your mind...you are a hateful person and that's pretty much it... If, however, you want to have an intelligent decision based on your research of the Quran then can you give me ONE VERSE from the Quran that forces people to believe in it ? this should be VERY EASY for you since you read it 'front to back and back to front....' There is no doubt the Muslim women are repressed in many backwords countries that declare themselves Muslims but do yourself a favor and ask a Muslim woman who is educated in Canada and wears a hijab if she is repressed. Why should I tell you they are not repressed ... I'll let the women cover that topic... You believe the Holy Prophet was a false prophet - So be it. It's your belief. Marrying more than one person is repulsive - Frankly I can't even think about marrying more than one woman...I'm good with the one I got.... HOWEVER, what you are I think are limited to our singular views and good for us in our limited little worlds. The world at large can benefit from women being legally married to a man and having legal children... many aspects: legal, moral, etc, etc... but I don't think you are interested in an intellectual discussion on this topic.. you just wanted to raise a point without even knowing what the Quran says about it... oh I forgot you have read it front to back and back to back or something like that.. You don't respect my right to follow my path in life - you will always shout slogans against me and my family just because we follow Islam and do it without forcing our beliefs on anyone. You are are hypocrite.

Hey Salman Ahmed, I get your point here. But then you also mentioned the acts of prev generation, which were disliked, should be continued to be treated the same way. That reminded me of the many dialogues which the disbelievers have said to various prophets (s.a.w), as an explanation to their idol worshippping, that their fathers uses to do the same as well. At that time, if they had held on to the same mentality, then there wouldn't have been anyone who got converted to the religion of Islam right? I'm just asking you, what if we were actually wrong about6taking clear cut decisions on such issues?
Issue with Dr. Shabir Ally is, he is living in western country. He can't offend 50% of western population by saying "Allah clearly forbids homosexuality". So like Jewish scholars, he's hiding the truth.I Allah will judge you on the day which is very harsh and hard.
It's true that he did not give a straight answer, but from what I saw, he did not condone it neither. 1. Good. 2. Okay... 3. Yes, you did. These thoughts are to be controlled by you, and how you show affection to people of the same gender. 4. No, you weren't. Shaytaan and Iblis have affected your mind and are currently trying to deceive you. Make Jihad against them, and overcome them and maybe one day have a family and children. 5-8. Is fine. 9. Well, that depends. Do you act on your thoughts? Do you at least ignore them and pray them away? Do you let them get the better of you? If so, then possibly, but I wouldn't know. 10-15. Try harder, as these things are not to be excused, but are to be overcome and won against. Fight against these thoughts, do not let them get the better of you and do not let them make you say these narratives. 16. In conclusion, if you act on the most deepest of offenses in Islam (taken from the Qur'an, Madhabs, and Ahadith) you could, but that is for Allah (Subhanahu wa-ta Ala) to decide. But if you keep on trying to excuse your actions for creations when Allah created all of us as His servants to pray and put Islam into practice, then you are taken out of the folds of Islam. He actually misleading people or misrepresent islam. Islam clearly describes what is wrong and what is right. If western world supports homosexuality it doesn't mean it is right. Why didn't you mentioned chapter 7 verse no 81.
Disgusting how quick people are to defend homophobia while veiling it as Islamic. That's entirely wrong and entirely your interpretation which already comes from a hatred or dislike that was already there to begin with. Do not twist the words of Allah.
It doesn't take a genius to see that the Muslim world has far greater problems than a few gay folks doing what they want behind closed doors. Conservative muslims should stop all their hand-wringing over homosexuality. Gay people simply exist, they always have, in every society, and no amount of hatred or violence directed at them will ever change that. It's far better (and more Islamic) to love one's every neighbor and show the world an Islam that is magnificent, benevolent, and merciful.

As someone who is just starting to learn about Islam, I am grateful for someone like Dr. Ally who can temper his faith with a view to modern society. He is educated and well-spoken. It's refreshing to see among the commenters here that there are people who are just as judgmental as Christians among the Muslims too.
I highly respect Dr. Shabir and his critical way of thinking about controversial topics in Islam. However, I do think he is sugar coating this a little bit. In the Quran it clearly mentions homosexuals as people who are "extravagant" or transgressed their bounds in Chapter 7 Verse 81. I do not think it is a sin to have feelings for the same sex, it is when the feeling is implemented. Please clarify that it is indeed not permissible in Islam, this is the word of god, not something that can be politicized
I am glad he was honest about where the Bible stands on homosexuality, in no uncertain terms, in that it completely condemns it, in both the NEW and the OLD TESTAMENTS,

It's so simple. In QURAN Allah told us story about People of "Lut" which were destroyed for the reason of Homosexuality. So it is very clear why do we need to check specific verse about this crime.
subuhaanallah this is one of the sighn of the day of judgement "The disappearance of knowledge and the appearance of ignorance" (Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Majah, & Ahmad)this is clear matter it is well said in the Quran in surah 26:verese165&166{أَتَأْتُونَ الذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ} Do you commit unnatural offence with males from among the creatures. And leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? Nay, but you are a people exceeding the limit. alhamdhu it is said in authentic hadith that Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah does not withhold knowledge by snatching it away from his servants, but rather he withholds knowledge by withholding scholars, until no scholar remains and people follow ignorant leaders. They are asked and they issue judgments without knowledge. Thus, they are astray and lead others astray.”

The same punishment that happens to heterosexuals would happen to homosexuals basically. The case of death penalty would happen if the person is married and caught in the act by many witnesses. If the person is not discovered and repents sincerely, then God would forgive them
We Muslims follow the Quran FIRST cuz it's the only 100% trusted source we have. All hadiths and sayings by old islamic characters could have been changed in 1400 years. Quran is from Allah, hadiths and all the bullsh*t some people came with were written and put together by normal people after years of the prophet death. But why he saying that Quran is Unclear about it when there is are places where Quran is clear about forbidding homosexuality. For example Chapter 7, ayat 80-81
Islam forbids homosexuality. Surah Al-A'raf 7:81 "Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people." “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” - Tirmidhi (1456), Abu Dawood (4462)and Ibn Maajah (2561)

@@Pak-ll1gr I didn't say that he "explicitly" denies the fact that homosexuality is forbidden, but he did try to soften its certainty. No need for the explanation, you can watch the video.
10:20 I am going to be provocative here, unfortunately many of the so called Hadiths are found in the Islamic tradition which they came via the back door through the OT and many of the ancient religions. There is no mention of homosexuality in the Qur'an or Hadith and many "Muslim" scholars intentionally or unintentionally (Only Allah knows what was in their hearts) but I personally came across many similarities between the Bible or Christianity and some of the Islamic traditions which made me question the whole thing. This is my take on the issue, since they knew they could never corrupt the Qur'an, so in order to create confusion, to cast doubts in the hearts of the muslims, to cause division, they first raised the "Hadith" to the authoritative status. In many cases muslims go by what "A" hadith says, it takes precedence over the Qu'ran although they will all openly claim that the Qu'ran is the authority but in application you see a totally different scenario, some people can actually question the Qur'an but not the authenticity of the Hadith, they have the nerve to question the veracity of the Qu'ran but never the Hadith, especially if the latter was found in Bukhari or Muslim. This is our biggest problem, many times I came across Hadiths contradicting each other and yet the Muslim Ummah seem happy to keep both in the collection no matter what.
There is a mention about homosexual. Also hadith explains the quran. It doesn negate the quran. For example allah says pray but not how. So the messenger of allah explained how to the sahaba and they memorised it and preserved it.
Unbelievable. I have never seen such a vague and ambiguous response to a question that I think is very clear in the Quran and hadiths. Shamir just couldn't bring himself to acknowledge the truth, yet ironically he did not hesitate to paint the other religions as totally against homosexuality in less than 2 sentences. He sounds like he is ashamed of the quranic doctrines. I wonder what else he says is ambiguous and half true.

In islam it's haraam to judge another human based on their beliefs and the fact is that if a person claims to be Muslim then that person is Muslim regardless of their acts that is between Allah and that person You are not allowed to decide who goes to Hell and who goes to heaven that's up to Allah to decide so check yourself before you judge someone else even then no matter how perfect you are and now matter how strong your imaan may be just keep in mind we are all getting into heaven on our own and we should rather guide someone rather than shame them for something you don't agree with
I absolutely agree with you. Allah will judge those on judgement day. However, we muslims are allowed to lecture that person, if they are somehow a homosexual and islamic. We are able to point out religious evidence to show why that's wrong in the religion.
Also, we all judge each other on our actions and what we believe in. If you are a Christian or a Muslim that believes in missing their obligatory salah's intentionally or like to depict the Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu Alayhi Wa-salam) himself unveiled or without a Halo. This is why Judgement is important, but only by outward deeds.
Despite that dr shabir ally explained that homosexuality is prohibted in islam and must not be practised also there are several verses from quran which i want to drop it here Chapter 7:verses 80-84 And ˹remember˺ when Lot scolded ˹the men of˺ his people, ˹saying,˺ “Do you commit a shameful deed that no man has ever done before? You lust after men instead of women! You are certainly transgressors.” But his people’s only response was to say, “Expel them from your land! They are a people who wish to remain chaste!” So We saved him and his family except his wife, who was one of the doomed. We poured upon them a rain ˹of brimstone˺. See what was the end of the wicked! At the wnd i want to say stay healthy and keep your family and loved ones healthy and away from this new wave of homosexuality which is empowered by western imperialists......
*"Actually surprisingly there's nothing directly mentioned in the Qur'an about homosexuality in particular."* Either his knowledge of the Qur'an is poor and thus he doesn't have the calibre that it takes to address any issue as he does, or he's airing his personal views but passing them as if they were based on Islam, or he's simply talking out of political correctness and is only saying what others would like to hear - misleadingly. *Because the above statement of his is totally erroneous from Islamic point of view. Neither are his views with regard to homosexuality in general in line with Islam. From such an statement only, he's more misleading people than shedding light on anything. Beware!*
@@sena5701 Anuone who desires men over women is a transgressor. This is clearly mentioned in the Quaran. As a Christian I think that Homosexuality being a major transgression is something that Muslims & Christians can agree on. With the greatest respect Shabir Ally is clearly trying to deceive Muslims. I am pretty sure that the consensus of opinion worldwide amongst the muslim community would disagree with his views. In my opinion If there is no punishment mentioned in the Quaran then Muslims should refer to previous scripture, where it is clearly mentioned that somebody should be put to death for such acts.

Those who are disappointed with him should be dissapointed with themselves. It is a sin. He never said it is right. He has used a route that applies to more than just muslims to help others relate and hopefully bring them on the right path.
Dr shabir Ali, Sura 7, ayat no 81 says " For ye practise your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds". What you say about this ayat? 'The term' Sodomites' is used used in scripture to describe offences against the laws of nature which were frequently connected with idolatrous practices' Hastings dictionary of Bible 4vol ,pno 559. Continuing in Sura 7 we see who brings judgement. Its is Allah(swt) who brought down fire to their lands..It is Allah(swt) who saved. There is no ayat which prescribes a judgement or ruling of us as muslims to be the bringers of judgement nor any harm to another person. May Allah(swt) continue to bless you brother in all that you do.
There is a scripture in my Bible though that says "if you love your neighbor tell them the truth." Then, the fact that Existencialism is a factor in my judgment, it's just kind of saying "Oh OK, I'll respect you, just because it's the law."

Having gay impulse's in Islam - you are not punished for this but rather you are punished for the action upon the impulse, in other words someone may have an impulse to steal, maybe they get a huge rise out of it but they have to stop themselves so in the same because someone feels some way doesn't mean they have to act on impulse - very much like an animal. Actually even acting on gay impulses in Islam you can not be punished for unless you were seen by four people and even then there is a court of law process by which each of them are questioned separately and in extreme detail where even if one detail is a little bit off the accused are given the benefit of the doubt. Also you maybe thinking "but why shouldn't they be allowed to practice their affection publicly and still not have to undergo punishment in this world" to this I say in an ideal Muslim state there should be no practice of affection between even a married couple publicly as much of a shock that is to you, if you really felt passionate about your spouse why do you need to show affection in front of everyone else it almost seems as if you're trying to convince others of something you are not sure of, I've only spoken about the implications of the act in this world, the consequence of which Allah should choose upon them is an entirely different matter, I'm only arguing the "seen" or observable by us as an explanation to someone who does not believe in Islam or God. Also on a related note the punishment for sex before marriage or during marriage with someone else is similar to the punishment for the act of homosexuality, so there is food for thought - hence Islam isn't really homophobic, because you don't agree with something or a certain action does not automatically make you phobic to it. Please educate yourselves before you post comments that show the extent of your ignorance and lack of education both academically and generally.
Liaqat Ally To act on the impulse is not natural but you can not say for sure that the impulse isn't there amongst some individuals - the impulse isn't what they're punished for but rather the action is and I wasn't arguing the point whether it is natural feeling or not but rather because I've never experienced it and so can't speak for a group of people that claim it is "natural" - I was merely replying to the idea that it is natural assuming it is "natural" and debunking the action on the "natural impulse" by giving other scenarios that can be viewed as equally natural.
UtubeS you said Islam is the source of all evil yet you say Hitler was born evil stop being a hypocrite and make up your mind and stop making fallacious comments - seriously read up on this prophet you accuse at the very least; when I say read up I mean read an unbiased book not one whom the sole purpose is to spread hate against Islam. Speaking of humans following Islam and what not it seems like every time people attempt to put Islam under a bad light more people join Islam because they are at the very least intelligent enough to understand what it is that is spoken about before reaching unjust conclusions. Furthermore what is the point in your argument if all you are doing is attempting to insult me and my religion and a pitiful attempt at that - had you actually had any form of legitimacy you would not need to create petty I insults to get your point across and that is that makes me loose all respect for you and not the fact that we may have a difference of opinion also I understand you may have lost all respect for me because of my religion since I must be exactly like the other 1.8 billion Muslim but even though you did as a disposition that is what makes you and I different.
Surah al Hirj (Surely in this are signs for those who examine): [15:61] So when the messengers came to Lut's followers, [15:62] He said: Surely you are an unknown people. [15:63] They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. [15:64] And we have come to you with the truth, and we are most surely truthful. [15:65] Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. [15:66] And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. [15:67] And the people of the town came rejoicing. [15:68] He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, [15:69] And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. [15:70] They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? [15:71] He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). [15:72] By your life! They were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. [15:73] So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; [15:74] Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. [15:75] Surely in this are signs for those who examine.

How can you decide that hadith does not form part of the Islamic legislative process.? Also while you say the hadith of punsihment is weak the following is classed as sahih in at timirdhi: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.”. Of course we know you penchant for dismissing even hadith in Bukhari when they dont suit your narrative. As for the Quran why dont you actually cite the verse about the people of Lut and let the viewers decide what Surah Al-Araf 80-81 is all about. It weird how LTQS never seems to go through the comments and escalate the comments to him. I have always thought that maybe you were someone on the cusp and angling in murky waters, but more and more i am not afraid to say you are a deviant and so is the kind of religion you are preaching. Instead of wasting your time discussing with scholars of the other faith why dont you go and debate with scholars of your own faith and see what they think about your views, maybe they might help you rectify yourself.
I'm just curious, if the Quaran does not explicity prohibit homosexuality then should Muslims look at Biblical scripture and traditions for the awnser. Since it is explicitly prohibited in the Bible should Muslims follow the same ruling

2) It was later introduced and added to the "Bible" (OT)
3) Later it reached us through the backdoor via way of so called Hadith.

Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins)’”

It is very clearly mentioned in this verse that the people of Lut were engaging in homosexuality and it was a manifest sin. Many other verses imply the same meaning and verdict without any disagreement or discrepancy on the matter.
You are exactly right. I believe Dr. Shabir is smoking Pot.

Islam is unequivocally clear on the prohibition of homosexuality although the punishment for it has not been ordained on earth. Surah Al-Rum Chapter 30, verse 22. "And of His signs is that He has created wives for you from among yourselves so that you may find peace of mind in them..."
There are other verses where heterosexuality has been deemed the clear law of nature in the Holy Quran.

You only want to spread hatred against people who disagree with you because you have made up your mind that they are all 'evil'. There is no doubt the Muslim women are repressed in many backwords countries that declare themselves Muslims but do yourself a favor and ask a Muslim woman who is educated in Canada and wears a hijab if she is repressed. You believe the Holy Prophet was a false prophet - So be it. It's your belief.
Marrying more than one person is repulsive - Frankly I can't even think about marrying more than one woman...I'm good with the one I got.... 1. Good.
2. Okay...
Trying to make an Impermissible thing Permissible is Mak'ruh in Islam, whether it is Sunni, Shia, or Ibadi Islam.

True but Quran didn’t prescribe capital punishment for homosexuals so we should not apply these laws rather get them medical help
I am glad he was honest about where the Bible stands on homosexuality, in no uncertain terms, in that it completely condemns it, in both the NEW and the OLD TESTAMENTS,
This doesn't sound like a Islamic perspective on homosexuality but an individual's perspective on the subject

It's so simple. In QURAN Allah told us story about People of "Lut" which were destroyed for the reason of Homosexuality. So it is very clear why do we need to check specific verse about this crime.

alhamdhu it is said in authentic hadith that Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah does not withhold knowledge by snatching it away from his servants, but rather he withholds knowledge by withholding scholars, until no scholar remains and people follow ignorant leaders.

Yup
It is common to come by similarities between both faiths but at the end of the day it could have been what they really thought.
you can't even pray correctly without hadith you illiterate

Yes, it is.

Or if you actually want an english speaker i would recommend shamsi from speakerscorner (he is not a scholar but waaaaaay smarter than these dumb cans).
In islam it's haraam to judge another human based on their beliefs and the fact is that if a person claims to be Muslim then that person is Muslim regardless of their acts that is between Allah and that person
You are not allowed to decide who goes to Hell and who goes to heaven that's up to Allah to decide so check yourself before you judge someone else even then no matter how perfect you are and now matter how strong your imaan may be just keep in mind we are all getting into heaven on our own and we should rather guide someone rather than shame them for something you don't agree with
I absolutely agree with you.
Despite that dr shabir ally explained that homosexuality is prohibted in islam and must not be practised also there are several verses from quran which i want to drop it here

And ˹remember˺ when Lot scolded ˹the men of˺ his people, ˹saying,˺ “Do you commit a shameful deed that no man has ever done before?
You lust after men instead of women! You are certainly transgressors.”

So We saved him and his family except his wife, who was one of the doomed.
We poured upon them a rain ˹of brimstone˺. See what was the end of the wicked!
At the wnd i want to say stay healthy and keep your family and loved ones healthy and away from this new wave of homosexuality which is empowered by western imperialists......

I am pretty sure that the consensus of opinion worldwide amongst the muslim community would disagree with his views. Hey ! Dr. Shabir Ally
What's the explanation of Surah Al Aa'raf verse no. 81???
Exactly, my thought!
al-A'raf 7:80-81

Also while you say the hadith of punsihment is weak the following is classed as sahih in at timirdhi: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.”. Mashallah great discussion but still short of explanation like what does the authentic hadiths talk on this issue?how did the sahaba deal with this issues?why is it a crime ?and honestly this issue is particularly common among muslim male scholars although were silent about it when they force themselves on their student and sadly we dont know how to deal with it
All hadith+quran said homosexuality is haram ... this issue occurred at prophet loots time and his people received a huge punishment there is a sura about it.
Allah created men and Female to marry each other not Man to marry a Man or a woman to marry a woman.thats y Allah created Adam and Hawa to bear Us
@@maryoomaaziz3606 isn't it spelt Lut in english?
if you're Muslim and you're not satisfied with sheikh answers don't come in the comment and start bashing
go watch what other scholars has to say
( I also think Sheikh could have made it a bit more clear )
I like that thing Dr. Zakir naik said ' In Islam the majority doesn't win , the Haq (Truth/Right) wins '
Peace ✌
Mashallah! he makes it so clear and it makes a lot of sense.
