- Does the Quran prophesy the end of the state of Israel? There's been a lot of social media commentary on this subject, and Dr. Shabir Ally weighs in. He says that chapter 17 in the Quran is thought to be a commentary on current affairs. He says this modern interpretation comes from a place of desperation and a desire to find hope in the Quran. However, he argues that the verses in question were futuristic from the time God told the Israelites it would happen, but not futuristic in our time. Dr. Shabir doesn't like this modern interpretation for another reason: it likens contemporary Muslims to those who originally destroyed the temple in 586 BC. He says we can draw an indirect lesson from this verse: all human beings need to be aware that if they misuse the power God gives them, God can diminish them in this life. However, this is not because they believe that huwa being grammatically masculine implies that Allah is male or male-like. “We” is also used without implying that Allah is plural or refers to multiple deities. Even in English, the “royal we” is a known linguistic convention for denoting greatness and sovereignty, not plurality.

I’m no scholar but I believe verse 8 answers the question somewhat:
“It may be that your Lord will have mercy on you but if you repeat (the crime) We shall repeat (the punishment)”
This is the way of God. If you return to the same prohibited conduct you face the same consequences. The question is has Israel returned to the same conduct of ‘corruption’ and ‘arrogance’ on the land?

There’s also in the same Surah in verse 8 a clear warning AFTER the two prophesied destructions, and it goes as follow :
عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يَرْحَمَكُمْ ۚ وَإِنْ عُدتُّمْ عُدْنَا ۘ وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ حَصِيرًا ٨ ( Perhaps your Lord will have mercy on you, but if you return, We will return.And We have made Hell a ˹permanent˺ confinement for the disbelievers.”

In the ayat there is explicitly a difference between the two promises. Allah has explicitly stated that the first promise has been completed, which means that it is something that happened in the past. When it comes to the second, it is indicated what will happen to them, which will actually take place in the future. Nowhere in the aya is indicated that it is a promise that has been completed.
In the ayat, Allah warns Bani Israel what the consequences are for their behavior: if you do good, you do it for yourself and if you do bad, you do it for yourself. From the Quranic perspective it is something that will take place in the future.

Dr,. Israr Ahmad was a great scholar of his era who spoke about islam as it was without innovations and as muslims our majority was thinking islam of a religion but he was the one after Iqbal and Maudoodi, who purified islam and talked about the socioeconomic and political system of Islam...

I do not see any sense in his so called explanation, but an escape from being bold against Anti Muslim forces.
Dr Shabbir usually bend towards Anti Islamic or Anti Muslim sides and want to please them, or say he do not want them to be angry on him. That is the reason he always try to explain against majority views of Islamic Scholars. He some time even go against Quran and Hadees as well. In case of Meraj and Israa, he even one time said, Prophet may go physically but in dreams or in Aalame Arwah. That is a great question. The answer is that Christianity turned into a religion that is not really monotheism. Jesus is the Messiah, not God, and if he is God the Christians have statues of God. This is a total violation of the 1st Commandment. Christianity became Romanized, with statues and made Jesus into Son of God like Hercules son of Zeus. So God sent Muhammad, in order to have a monotheism that is not limited to just a single people. Islam is much closer to Judaism than Christianity is.
