In N.C. we say traffic circle. I would bet the US is quickly adding these in all metropolitan areas. - so catching up to Europe. Funny thing where I worked for a bike shop, some circles were added and of all things within a year or so two cyclists managed to botch getting through one. Both destroyed there bikes cracking/bending their top tubes. I would have thought a bike would do OK transitioning these but, nope.
We have roundabouts everywhere here. In atlanta anyway. Suburbs, metro, etc. they’re not like the ones in London, but we definitely have multi-lane roundabouts here ( Atllanta, GA & surrounding area ) and plenty in places in Florida.

Man, what are you talking about? If Bini (the fighter) is not a pure sprinter how an earth he made 3 times in one of the biggest cycling competitions. Anyway, crushing is part and parcel of cycling especially in events like stage 16. I believe sprinters with their strength need a luck.

Roundabouts in the USA? It varies depending on the part of the country. I’m in a small northeastern state and we have quite a few. Some are larger two-lane wide for higher traffic areas, and even some small towns have them. The small town roundabouts here have grown in popularity in the last couple of decades as they tend to keep traffic flowing better than intersections with stops, yielding, and particularly left turns (here, driving on the right side) where you are crossing lanes and increasing risk of collisions.

In Washington state I’m seeing more and more to help keep traffic moving and removing lights and dangerous intersections. But I may be in the minority: When they built one here in my home town a few years back, the city practically had to mount an educational campaign to teach the noobs how they work. roundabouts are sparse in the US (more in the Northeast, basically none in the midwest, for example). Most US drivers lose their minds when having to deal with them. I used to live in Saint Louis and there was one roundabout where there were frequently cars that forgot about it and ended up stuck in the middle of it.
I the USA, there are a fair amount of roundabouts in the Northeadt aection of the country. I live in New Jersey (16 miles outside of New York City) and there is a roundabout not 2 miles from my house.

American here--Northern Californian, to be precise. And we do have some roundabouts in the states, especially in more progressive communities. I rather like taking them, particularly on the bike. But I may be in the minority: When they built one here in my home town a few years back, the city practically had to mount an educational campaign to teach the noobs how they work. Lesson still hasn't quite sunk in with some of the locals.🤦♀
There are a lot of roundabouts in Norway, so yes, the driver should've known what to do :p

There are roundabouts in the USA. They are not the norm but they are around. I am a Brit living in the woodlands Texas and we have a few, they call them traffic islands and the locals generally have no idea what to do with them…….😂
Plenty of roundabouts in the US - unfortunately the Americans don’t know how to use them - the concept of “the car on the roundabout has right of way over the car entering the roundabout” seems to be too difficult 🙄
roundabouts are sparse in the US (more in the Northeast, basically none in the midwest, for example). Most US drivers lose their minds when having to deal with them. I used to live in Saint Louis and there was one roundabout where there were frequently cars that forgot about it and ended up stuck in the middle of it.
I the USA, there are a fair amount of roundabouts in the Northeadt aection of the country. I live in New Jersey (16 miles outside of New York City) and there is a roundabout not 2 miles from my house.
In and around the lake, mountains come out of the sky and they stand there....
