Hey y'all! Reposting here that my family is ok (I pinned a comment on the last video but I know not everyone will have seen it). The place where both of my parents live has been absolutely destroyed by hurricane Helene but they are safe and we've even been able to exchange messages now. We're all still in a bit of shock. Thanks to everyone who reached out ❤ *editing to clarify* My mom's house and dad's house are both ok! Their town had a lot of rain/wind and the river rose incredibly high, lots of mudslides, lots of buildings and roads collapsed (that's what I meant by "the place where they live" being destroyed), no water or power yet but luckily their homes and belongings are fine. However my mom's cousin's tiny house floated away 😭 We know where it is, it's lodged in the riverbank a few miles downstream, she hasn't been able to get it out it yet but it was built in a shipping container so we're holding out hope that it's still dry inside!
phrases like "in drag as my past self" and "it makes a girl out of me" feel so helpful to my brain as i begin to declutter for an upcoming move. it can be so hard to let go of things i USED to love, but i am not that person anymore! i can love her without dragging her clothes along with me!
Navigating through our past selves and our fantasy selves to find our(actual)selves is so hard. Aren’t we so lucky to have Hannah as a companion? Here’s to finding and trusting ourselves.
I want to tell you something - I listen to your videos before I do a presentation at work and I act "Hannah" in presentations. It works really well. I sound more confident and enunciate my words.
Would love to see a series of short videos where in each one, you take one of the 'maybe' pieces that you said you would keep trying to style, and you do just that: Try styling it in a bunch of different ways to see if it will earn its place in your wardrobe. So much fun to see all these dresses! I kept a few designer "relics" from my youth and now my adult daughter wears some of them!
The floral dress from grad school makes absolute sense to keep as a super ruffled, color-popping, floral option. More so than any of the others before it, is has your wardrobe color pops. That cherry red. That cobalt blue of that BaBa sweater. It just has the right loudness to fit with the rest of your wardrobe
I just want to say something else the way that you looked when you were attracted your husband, is what you need to strive for. If you change into more of a dowdy frumpy look, they're going to look at women that look the way that you used to look when he was attracted to you when he first met you. Why don't you model some of these clothes for him and see what he likes and keep them
This is not so much a declutter video as it is a beautiful retelling of Hannah's life through her collection of dresses. The story of who Hannah was, is and hopes to be, all through a beautiful collection of dresses, told through personal details of fabric and memories ✨
Your declutters are so educational, in addition to soothing! I learn from the way you’re able to put into words what you like and don’t like about certain pieces, and your knowledge of brands is amazing. Also the fact that you can remember where you purchased every single piece shows how much you care for your clothing ❤
I’m continuing to be amazed at how much I’m here for this! I was telling some friends about your declutter. We’re all older (youngest is 66, oldest is 82) and none of us are interested in clothes. Clean and comfortable, and we’re good to go. But the conversation around clothes and esthetics and personal values was fascinating! Thanks for sharing your progress! 🥰
I LOVE the brown crochet dress, it just seems so cinematic, like something a breezy mysterious protagonist would wear in a 70s film and pair with a giant hat and oversized sunglasses
Omg I always see your comments on Dr. Kirk's channel (and more recently Dr. Cherie Types) and LOVE how insightful your words are... and I did NOT expect to see you here too but you just keep delivering with the great taste in YT creators/videos and fab comments!! 😂
Hanna, I was not going to comment, I even got up to get my phone, tip: using a slip under many of the dresses you showed will bring the “polished” minimalist structure you are looking for. And man! That black long dress with the deep V neck! That dress looks amazing on you and it is so basic and yet sophisticated. It’s the perfect, timeless dress that you can wear for many occasions.
Your dress collection is a dream--the colors, textures, fabrics, prints, cuts! I especially enjoyed the details and stories you share about each piece.
I could watch you do these type of videos, endlessly and be in total peace and utter joy during everyone. Video suggestion I would love to see you do this for other people. Thanks for the thoughtful, honest, real content.
I know the declutter has been difficult for you but it inspired me to pull all my clothes to see what still fits after losing 50 pounds and also cleaning out a years worth of dust bunnies and spiderwebs so I am indebted to your panic
I have to say this again, but seeing a decluttering video of yours in my subscription box feels like a soothing balm for the soul. I can only describe it as this warm light that radiates from within ❤️.
11:16 the red dress is STUNNING on you!!!!!! (And yes I just did multiple comments….). Also that sari kaftan is stunning - it would be so nice on vacation! Also that panic buy Aritzia dress at 40:45 is so good on you with the boots! So fashion.
I saw the title slide and stopped immediately with an ‘ooooh’ as though I’d seen key lime pie on the dessert menu. I’d been waiting for your declutter episode 2! Not at all disappointed! 😃
Your declutter videos are amazing. I usually don't watch any because it's just shots of people's closets before and after and a bunch of sped-up footage of sorting. Your talent/strength as a TH-cam creator is your ability to deeply reflect, make meaning, and learn while being vulnerable and fluid (because life doesn't really allow us to be black and white over the long-term). ❤ And your dresses are gorgeous!
It's funny, because the stuff you're like, "I really love this but it isn't my vibe anymore" I'm like, "girl, no", immediately. 😂 It makes me realize I should be a lot more vicious when I clear out clothes! We know who we are. Just like with all decluttering though, it's about how you FEEL about the clothing and the memories associated with it that makes it so tough.
You have identified that you you feel best in on the knee length or ankle length, and nothing inbetween, and I think that is true for a lot of us. That is so helpful to point out.
Funnily, we had two dresses in common! The Ozma poplin dress and the Chloe dress. Your telling the story of how you found the Chloe and how you feel about it is verbatim how this dress came and stayed in my wardrobe. Purchased at a tiny Northern California consignment shop in 2006 for a school formal. Love these videos you are putting out.
I hear you. I’m watching this even though I own exactly five dresses and one is more of a swimsuit coverup rather than a dress. I rarely wear any of them. Perhaps I should declutter one or two of them?
I LOVE that floral dress that you kept. Something about the fit and the length! It just looked so striking. Trully you didn’t have to justify it at all, it just seemed better than all the other patterned ones you decluttered. I’m probably just projecting 😝 but you seemed markedly more confident and swishy in it. Also that silk Aritzia dress with the boots is killer! Chic!
These vids are so calming and easy to watch, I'd never guess that decluttering was causing you such stress! I love your thoughtful ponderings over each piece and even when you decide to let go of something, you never chide your past self for wearing or buying it. I love it. And thank you for mentioning so many of the brands you own! I'm so out of the loop on good clothing brands and now I have a small list to check out!
I really love these declutter videos -- particularly for the self-analysis you go through while evaluating each individual piece. It's this kind of in-depth assessment, including the emotional aspect, that I need help with when curating my own closet, and which I never seem to find in other declutter videos elsewhere. Thank you for this!
I just wanted to comment that I especially appreciate that you share all your uncertanties and ponderings. I am I think about +6 months pp from you and very confused with my wardrobe. Helps me alot to clarify things on a practical level here on another continent dealing with the same things. ❤
I'm a similar height and build and I also have become super picky about dress length. I feel like this video was a perfect demonstration as to why that is. Those longer dresses look so amazing on you!
OMG! Hannah I’m so sorry to hear about the devastation in the area in which your parents live. As an Australian, living in the land of bushfires and floods, I totally understand how devastating these natural disasters can be. My warmest and best wishes to all. As to the declutter, well done. I’ve been decluttering for the past year and I know how tough it is. I ended up having to have a second person to help me (they can often just get you started, get the ball rolling, so to speak). I saw your point on 99 % of your decisions - EXCEPT the Anthropology dress at the start. Noooooooo Hannah! Please please consider keeping that one. It looked absolutely divine on you. Truly you looked like a Goddess! I know you said it wasn’t part of your style anymore but you did keep a couple that weren’t (that were far less beautiful) that were same, and from memory it even had cherry red in it, which by your own admission is your chosen pop of colour. Please Hannah this one would truly be a mistake, should you let it go. Anyway that’s my 2cents worth. Enough said. Well done again. I look forward to the rest of the series and as we come into summer here, just know I’m right there with you. Finally, any tips you have on where and how to sell good used pieces would be much appreciated. I need to be making some coin if I’m to afford to keep my wardrobe up to date! ❤😊
That last floral “outlier” dress was gorgeous! I’m so glad you that of the dresses you felt didn’t fit into your new aesthetic direction, that was the one you kept!
OMG I couldn't even get through the pants declutter. You have so many really nice pairs of pants!!! I have like 3 pairs of pants, LOL. I decluttered myself into a vacuum. I think its okay to put things away and not follow the "get rid of" impulse so intensely. I appreciate your content though, as I have no idea where to look for nice things these days :)
Hannah, Your videos are such a joy to me. You are far and away my favorite creator on this site. I am so grateful to watch the way you interpret and express what life is to you, what beauty is to you. I deeply admire your work. I have so much more I could say but I'll leave it at that. Thank you for what you do.
I really enjoy the consideration and thoughtfulness that we get to see in your videos. It makes me feel able to slow down and be just as considerate. I enjoy your content so much!
I find so much inspo in your process. For me, eliminating items based on color, cut, and fabric content help so much, tho for dresses and even skirts I consider if it has pockets. Requiring pockets has help me a great deal in being realistic bc I know I will be incredibly unlikely to wear an outfit with no pockets. I look forward to seeing your series unfold!
I’m finally back home from my trip overseas and what a joy to spend my work day back watching this video. If you happen to see this I would LOVE to know where those black shoes are from. The perfect heel that is sturdy, casual, and a little unusual 🤍
I started with 45 dresses and have it wriggled down to 36 currently but still have a ways to go. I struggle with decluttering dresses more than any other part of my wardrobe because they tend to have a little more of a story along side them.
The love moschino dress is a keeper for aslong as it’s fits!!!!!!!! My mum would say it’s a “lifer” you can wear that now to when your 80 and it will look stunning ❤
The whole "hip dip" thing didn't even exist when I was growing up (born in '81). No one ever even talked about it. I'm convinced it's just a totally made-up concept that women now use as another way to torture themselves. Please, please keep that brown faux-crochet dress!! You looked incredible in it 💜
Thank you Hannah for all of your thoughtful and thought provoking content. I look forward to your videos and appreciate the variety of topics you cover. You mentioned once during a closet reorganizing that you had clothes moths in the past. I've just seen the first flutters of the critters here and I wonder if you would ever consider sharing your experience and knowledge on caring for the fibers in your wardrobe and keeping moths away ...? I imagine it would be of interest to many of your viewers ❤ thank you!
Your dress selection is looking more adult, I would say. I love the idea of the 'last vestige of a self' that you were evolving out of. This is a good way of describing those moments when you know 'this just isn't ME' any more.
I loved watching each and every dress that you thoughtfully considered ... and hearing you talk about your tango dresses prompted this comment/question: where to go for age-appropriate dance dresses for a senior?? I don't do sleeveless; I no longer have a tiny waistline ... but I love dancing and always want to be appropriate ...
Thanks for sharing… I’m also definitely undergoing a self-shedding/mindful molting of a past self into what I want to be a more refined and lasting aesthetic and I appreciate both seeing your collection and watching you curate
Yay dresses!!! Loving this wardrobe declutter. I've just read a book about minimalism by an Italian youtuber who talks about simplicity not only from a material point of view, but also from a spiritual point of view...decluttering all the way through! I loved the book and this video came at the right time! I will use Saturday to declutter my own wardrobe, this came at the perfect time.
I love this series!! I realize a LOT of work goes into these videos. I also really like your style. I’m on a similar journey from bohemian, to minimalism, and now beginning to add in more dramatic, oversized silhouettes and pops of color. I’m here for ALL the fashion consumer content!,
That Chloë dress! I love that it’s a little stained because it has been rendered less precious and I think you should organize a 1920s pub crawl with some friends when you can in the future because it’s giving flapper.
I think the red dress at 7:30 was beautiful on you, but after seeing the stunning floral one at 20:30, I think I can understand how it might "replace" the former in your wardrobe. Love seeing you dance in the B-roll, Hannah ❤
Hannah, i wiuld be really interested in hearing about what you do with clothing that you declutter. Especially, if you are selling online, how you store those clothes and how long do you keep them around if they don't sell. How much effort do you put into your listings? I am a mom of two toddlers, and although it feels wasteful to skip reselling and just donate, the amount if time and space that reselling would consume is almost always not worth it to me.
The thing is if she sells online it won’t be like if you did because she has a huge audience to essentially advertise the listing to. I’ve found it’s really only worth reselling certain brands. It’s kind of a sunk cost fallacy.
Dresses are hard, y'all. But the Ganni is amazing on you and your coloring! As an older woman, believe me when I say that you want to take advantage of the times when your figure is good. The black silk 70's style is great and versatile. Sorry to hear about your family's home. I hope they recover soon.
42:19 That tango dress from your time in Buenos Aires fits so well and you look STUNNING in it! The white floor-length v-neck dress also gives you a lovely casual goddess vibe, such a good look on you ❤
Hey y'all! Reposting here that my family is ok (I pinned a comment on the last video but I know not everyone will have seen it). 🥹 I’m so sorry Hannah
Dear Hannah, thank you for letting us viewers know they are safe. Saddened to hear, they lost their home and belongings. Blessings for you and them.
Sending love to you and your family. I am so happy that they are safe. ❤❤❤
I'm so sorry that your parents and others are going through this traumatic event. Very glad they are safe now.
I’ve been thinking of you and your family since I saw the news. I’m so thankful they are safe.

You can love here without dragging her clothes along with you! That’s so cute ❤

Such a good way of framing it! 😊
I want to tell you something - I listen to your videos before I do a presentation at work and I act "Hannah" in presentations. It works really well. I sound more confident and enunciate my words.
Interesting point. I get it!!
That totally makes sense to me! I imagine doing that as a sort of performance would help me be less nervous.
Great idea!
Love that!!
I find the male-gazeyness of Joe's dress selection both hilarious and adorable, and also it really looks fire lol
How adorable is it when you put something on and you automatically want to dance.
Would love to see a series of short videos where in each one, you take one of the 'maybe' pieces that you said you would keep trying to style, and you do just that: Try styling it in a bunch of different ways to see if it will earn its place in your wardrobe. That black dress you just had on looks fantastic on you keep it wear it

@@ligli500 Awwwww, oh my gosh this comment made my day! Thank you so much, I'm blushing. Hope you have a fantastic day, internet buddy 🙂
The floor length Linenfox dress is utterly breathtaking on you. Very much avant garde Japanese designer vibes.
My favorite thing about these videos are the little dances that you do sometimes 💃
The flower dress is stunning on you. I’m glad you kept it. It really did seem to spark joy even though it’s out of your “normal” aesthetic.
you MUST keep the Reformation black silk dress you got from Julia! I literally gasped when I saw the footage of you trying it on
I felt the same way!
Me too!
Absolutely!!! Omg don't declutter it, you look aaahmaaziiing on it!
Id cut off the sleeves 😍
i was typing she should hem it, right when she said she wouldnt LMAO
Hanna, I was not going to comment, I even got up to get my phone, tip: using a slip under many of the dresses you showed will bring the “polished” minimalist structure you are looking for. And man! That black long dress with the deep V neck! That dress looks amazing on you and it is so basic and yet sophisticated. It’s the perfect, timeless dress that you can wear for many occasions.
Your dress collection is a dream--the colors, textures, fabrics, prints, cuts! I especially enjoyed the details and stories you share about each piece.
Love the stories and reasons for your decisions, too!
i saw that first fancy dress (the black with silver stripes) and immediately started singing "new makeup. hot takes. new makeup. hot takes" :P
I could watch you do these type of videos, endlessly and be in total peace and utter joy during everyone. Video suggestion I would love to see you do this for other people. Thanks for the thoughtful, honest, real content.
That Aritzia dress with the high boots is GORGEOUS, it took my breath away! I'm so glad you kept it! 40:11
I know the declutter has been difficult for you but it inspired me to pull all my clothes to see what still fits after losing 50 pounds and also cleaning out a years worth of dust bunnies and spiderwebs so I am indebted to your panic
21:57 this one is sooo beautiful on u, im glad u kept it
That black silk dress is just soooo beautiful. Very Kate Winslet. Very Hannah at fancy book awards.
The way I want to watch this now but save for a treadmill walk because the pants one kept me entertained the ENTIRE time
I have to say this again, but seeing a decluttering video of yours in my subscription box feels like a soothing balm for the soul. I can only describe it as this warm light that radiates from within ❤️.
Hard same! ❤❤
That long red floral is something i think grandkids would wear and you'll enjoy telling the story of
11:16 the red dress is STUNNING on you!!!!!!
seeing that dress at 25:00 brought on a rush of quarantine flashbacks, wow! so cute, but I understand why you'd never want to wear it again!!
Your declutter videos are amazing. I usually don't watch any because it's just shots of people's closets before and after and a bunch of sped-up footage of sorting. I think that first dress would be cool with your bright blue babaa sweater over top. Very “art teacher” coded!
Funnily, we had two dresses in common! The Ozma poplin dress and the Chloe dress. Your telling the story of how you found the Chloe and how you feel about it is verbatim how this dress came and stayed in my wardrobe. This is fascinating as someone who has 1 dress.
Sorry to hear the hurricane affected your family. Glad everyone is safe. Sending Love 💜💜

I'm sooo glad you kept the long floral that fits you beautifully!❤
I am so happy your family is okay, Hannah. Sending healing and recuperating energy out into the universe for your family.
That knit red dress is gorgeous. Seems it would be amazing under a comfy slouchy sweater or over a white shirt with extra blousy sleeves.
Chic!
"It's not me":)we have to think in this way when we decluter the wardrobe:) Greatings from Italy!

The long floral dress from Nordstrom Rack looks sooo good on you. It hits just right.
I'm a similar height and build and I also have become super picky about dress length. I feel like this video was a perfect demonstration as to why that is. Those longer dresses look so amazing on you!
That black silk dress looks so great on you, please keep it ❤
The red dress is beautiful! The neckline is amazing!! So glad you're keeping it ❤
Your updated dress style is giving Victorian ghost and I am here for it! 😉
OMG! Hannah I’m so sorry to hear about the devastation in the area in which your parents live. You look like Botticelli's Flora in the floral maxi dress. Absolutely beautiful.
The most beautiful dress is the brown one you wanted to declutter that looks crocheted with the deep v neck and puff sleeve. Def keep!
I love the linen fox XXL dress on you as it it, the volume really suits it
That long red gown you made is STUNNING on you.
That last floral “outlier” dress was gorgeous! I’m so glad you that of the dresses you felt didn’t fit into your new aesthetic direction, that was the one you kept!
I love that Moschino dress on you. You definitely should keep it even if it isn't fully with your vision. It is gorgeous!
Dreamy dress collection! the white Ozma dress will look amazing over jeans - belted and unbuttoned from the waist!
Make some fashion with those dresses. Vests would sell too. I'd buy a hobo bag, those are easy to make too.BEAUTIFUL silk. That's a keeper.
I liked the greenish Chloe dress more than the yellow Marni one. They both have vintage vibes but the Chloe one is such a winner!
You are a true beauty, and it needs to reflect in the clothes that you wear so don't hide in your clothes. 😊
Oh my god the Chloe dress ✨goddess dress!! I remember that one!
love the white linen dress, looks comfy
Hannah,

I deeply admire your work. I have so much more I could say but I'll leave it at that. Thank you for what you do.
Thank you for these video series - I feel like you analyse the garments in a way that is kind of deep. PS: I loved the pixel tango overall on you!
I really enjoy the consideration and thoughtfulness that we get to see in your videos. It makes me feel able to slow down and be just as considerate. I enjoy your content so much!
I love the long floral dress. Definitely should be a keeper 👍🏻
The black slit reformation dress is beautiful on you!

I'm convinced it's just a totally made-up concept that women now use as another way to torture themselves. Please, please keep that brown faux-crochet dress!! You looked incredible in it 💜
This serious has me enthralled. I am following it's future with bated breath as I wait for the next video to drop. ❤️
I have the sage green Chloé too. Spring 2005. Great fashion year! It’s too delicious for me to ever part with either.
Another delightful entry in this series. ♥️
I was going to protest for the red floral Caroline K dress, until I saw the Nordstrom Rack floral 😍 The decision suddenly made perfect sense
Joe saying I want to buy you a dress then buying you your tightest dress 😂😂 classic.
Ooooh I hope you keep that silky Reformation dress, it looks phenomenal on you!
Thanks for sharing… I’m also definitely undergoing a self-shedding/mindful molting of a past self into what I want to be a more refined and lasting aesthetic and I appreciate both seeing your collection and watching you curate
The cherry red frock on you - sublime.
I’m here for ALL the fashion consumer content!,
The floral maxi dress looks amazing on you ! It's ok to have certain pieces that don't fit you're vibe perfectly but you love 🤭❤️
That Anthropologie dress looked so good on you!
That Chloë dress! I love that it’s a little stained because it has been rendered less precious and I think you should organize a 1920s pub crawl with some friends when you can in the future because it’s giving flapper.
Also the flower Moschino dress with a bright blue or bright red sweater… 😍
Really loving this series, can’t wait to see what you declutter next!
Loving this series and really cool to see the evolution in thought process and clarity coming about from the pants to the dresses 😊
I think the red dress at 7:30 was beautiful on you, but after seeing the stunning floral one at 20:30, I think I can understand how it might "replace" the former in your wardrobe. Love seeing you dance in the B-roll, Hannah ❤
I love the Ganni dress!
Yep, that makes sense. And my declutters are usually mall brands that I thrifted in the first place, so it's a big difference
Dresses are hard, y'all. But the Ganni is amazing on you and your coloring! As an older woman, believe me when I say that you want to take advantage of the times when your figure is good. The black silk 70's style is great and versatile. Sorry to hear about your family's home. I hope they recover soon.
I looove this series! So fun to hear all the stories about your clothes.
Love it love it love!! More of these videos. 🤎🧡
42:19 That tango dress from your time in Buenos Aires fits so well and you look STUNNING in it! The white floor-length v-neck dress also gives you a lovely casual goddess vibe, such a good look on you ❤
You hit a good balance in these choices. Glad you kept some memory pieces.
I am sorry to hear of the trauma for your family. xx
