January 19 - Execution of Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey

In today's "on this day in Tudor history" video, Claire Ridgway, founder of the Tudor Society, takes us back in time to 19th January 1547, when poet, courtier and soldier, Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey and son of Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk, was executed by beheading on Tower Hill.

Whenever I hear of an execution under Henry VIII's reign, I immediately think it was unwarranted. I wonder if any modern mock courts have judged these cases?
