This scene sums up just how much Legoshi means to Jack, how much Jack loves him as his best friend, and the music reflects that purity of heart and soul in Jack. His voice conveys so much sadness and loss of innocence in the world. Legoshi's words about him shining brightly is symbolic of that purity in a very dark world; a world which Legoshi is saying to Jack, "Where I'm going, you can't follow..." It's heartbreaking to see Jack behind the fence, unable to join his friend and you can feel his heart breaking.

Beautiful job as always! Music is very on point to show how emotional it is for Jack to lose his friend again not by his side. The only friend he wanted to be happy yet keeps on failing. Wonderful performances on Jack and Legosi, Michael and Rory. You both did a wonderful job from the direction of Elson. I felt sad when Jack cried out his name. I love the sound effects you use for this one. There were some lip flaps of Legosi continuing to move before Rory said "I borrowed a text book from Collot", but I'mma let it slide. Stunning job everybody. You all get a pat on the back and so much love. ❤ ❤

Elson your videos have always had a standard of "quality" but I swear, ever since the recent rebrand of the channel, these rapid fire dubs have managed to continually top each other in terms of it. As a creator it's important to always push yourself to make your next work your best in order to continue growing and evolving and I sincerely feel that this video is, again, another best if that makes sense.
Rory and Michael, your acting here - pitch perfect. This scene brings about real feelings of oncoming sadness and isolation. The imagery makes painfully obvious what each of these characters is feeling and then it comes through so vividly from their own mouths via your voices. The part that really gets me is when the screen splits and Michael sobs as Rory, in his very calm and contemplative way, relays Legosi's inner monologue acknowledging the way he's drifted from his friend... Man, it tears me apart inside, just as it should. You two deserve a lot of credit for your work here.
And Elson, as I mentioned before, you keep topping yourself, man! The audio design in this is brilliant. Nothing out of place and the sounds of walking/running (something that can distract me as you know) is flawless in execution here. That moment when Legosi runs and jumps at the fence, then climbs it and jumps away as Jack reaches out to grab the chain link... I wanted to cheer, you used the nicest sound effects there and arranged them perfectly to make that moment absolutely come alive. It may sound silly to get excited about something so trivial, but in audio design those little things can sometimes make or break dub tracks and I thought that moment was great.
That first point, it absolutely makes sense. 8-)
You notice that in the cinematography of this scene - the separation of the two is illuminated not only through scrip but the dramatic lighting and distance btletweej Jack and Legosi. Great observations there Josh!
Last night when I caught up with Rory and the regulars after the BEASTARS Episode 8 watch-party I shared my insights to the process behind the video and you've pointed out some things that I've already touched upon - including the SFXs on the running away/fence scene - I'm especially proud of that.
Rory and Michael, as always, did an exceptional job on their acting.
Looking forward to seeing how you perform this time round for Episode 7. ;) Perhaps we can catch up for a consultation soon!

Ooooh...! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!! *(claps for both Michael and Rory's performances)* Michael really did well at portraying Jack's confusion, anger, frustration and heartbreak in this moment. There's just so much going on in this scene that Jack just doesn't understand, only that he's slowly losing his best friend. :( And of course, Rory excels in portraying Legosi's somber acceptance at the sudden change in his life, not to mention sounding like he's just been beat up. And of course, Elson, you did excellent at putting this all together. x3
Dang, you guys! You're really living up to the title "QUALITY". :D
Random notes about the anime that I've been wanting to make note of:
-1:02 I really like how they did a lighting contrast between the two canines, with golden Jack bathed in brightness, while blood-covered Legosi is shadowed in darkness, symbolizing the disconnect between the duo. Plus there's a pillar between them, further cementing how they're both apart of different worlds now.
-In the manga, Legosi simply disappeared while Jack was crying, but here Jack watches Legosi's exit. The Labrador desperately tries to follow his friend, but the fence keeps him from doing so, showing that the two friends are forced to take different paths in life.
BEN DISKIN IS GOING TO MAKE ME CRY SO HARD IN THIS SCENE IM NOT READY I REPEAT IM NOT READY!
