Accidentally beheaded mine, was somehow flung from shelf. Perhaps kitty did it, or the offspring, or maybe that thumbly ex of yore. Regardless, both family ceramic & China pixies, through no fault of their own, were forced into early retirement. I hope someday to attain skill/supplies needed to reassemble/reattach their heads.
Come to the old Joliet Prison this summer, we have a Blue's Brothers Con there now. Also it's awesome to see you a block away from where I used to work where Star Wars Day is held hence the action figures. You were spot on with the hunt idea.

Loved this, the Lincolnway thing reminds me of this road we have in the UK called the Great North road, while not aslong as we are quite literally smaller than most US states it goes from the south right up into Scotland as was the main road to London for centuries, while now some parts are disconnected as it was turned into the A1M you can see it's history in the streets it used to pass through with the Old Inns and coachhouses. I loved the Pizza place massively and the Candy dispensers (I hope you remembered your Gumball from the sword fighters and the machine in Scotts would've been in my hands in seconds) and the tour of Scotts as these are my kinda places, so Uncle Carpetbagger where to next?

I remember visiting Estes Park with my grandparents when I was maybe in Jr high or High School......We went to the Ripley's.....it's not there anymore...😢That was in the 80's...

When you pass through Utah you'll be passing by the Great Salt Lake. Check out the SaltAir it's a music venue, it's built on the site of an old resort by the same name. The building it's self is made to resemble the old building.

If you ever get back to Colorado you might consider visiting the Jolly Rancher factory. I use to buy mislabeled Jolly Rancher candy the only problem was you had to buy an entire case of them.
This weekend Joliet had their big Star Wars Day celebration. It was outside the Joliet Library and the blocks around it which would explain all those Star Wars figures on the exhibits

My friends and I used to drive from Chicago to Detroit a lot for one of my hobbies, and when you entered NW Indiana from Chicago there was a big billboard that said "Don Quixote - the only Spanish Restaurant in Indiana!" and we always made fun of it. One day we finally decided to go take a trip there, and it was in downtown Valpo. It was actually very nice and recommend it if it's still there.
I figured you would have stopped in Dixon. An actual section of the Berlin Wall is on display right off of IL 38, right by the Arch. It's Ronald Reagan's hometown, dontcha know
So the Route 66 and Route 30 posts are on the SW corner of Cass and Chicago Streets in downtown Joliet I'll have to check that out the next time I go home. They must have just put it up this past year I didn't see it last year when I was in town!

As a child j went to a local old fashion general syore with penny candy and you got to pjck esch piecs and they put them jn s bag. It was magical.😊
