i know Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost the password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Blaze Kannon I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
No problem, the downlink is the frequency the repeater transmits on. So that's what you would use to listen (RX). The uplink is the frequency the repeater listens on, so therefore that's what you'd transmit on (TX). It does get a little confusing with uplink and downlink. 73' :)
I have my friend’s boafeng UV-5R. Initially they asked me to look at it as it wasn’t scanning at all, just staying on one channel (police). I have passed that hurdle easily and it is scanning again. However, ….It seems to cut off transmissions after a few seconds, and begins to scan again, then picking up the same conversation a few seconds later. They are missing half of a single transmission. It gets bits and pieces of the same call but little in segments. Example: the dispatcher is telling the officer a lengthy criminal history, wants and warrants, court dates, ….. but this baofeng just gets bits and pieces with silence in between. My scanners (4 of them, Realistics, and Unidens) ) will stay on any given channel, until transmission actually ends. Is there a way to rectify this on the boafeng UV-5R? I normally program Realistic, Uniden, Whistler, BearCat, for friends & family. This boafeng is totally new for me. The manual is insanely hard to follow.
Your friend is better off getting a dedicated scanner. The UV5R is awful, it works alright but not a good radio at all. I think if memory serves me right, there’s an option on chirp in settings to do with scanning. To be honest I don’t use them myself, I gave both mine away.
I love the simplicity of my older scanners. So easy to use. I do agree she needs a basic scanner, but this is what she has at the moment. I had it run all day, but shut it off last night. It is back to stuck on one frequency. I had to do 2 steps to get it back in scan mode. This radio is ridiculous!
Im going out on a limb here and guessing this don't work for NOAA and fire rescue and the like. Been at it for 4 hours and cant save one frequency. Programmed my Aviation Yeasu with 40 some odd frequencies in less than an hour. The directions and numerous you tube videos don't work. Do I really have to go Chirp for those frequencies? Thanks.
That’s the difference between radios like Yaesu and the cheap Chinese radios like Baofeng, they don’t cover the bands that the more expensive radios do. Not sure where in the world you are but over here in the UK I can program in NOAA and marine. But airband is a no no, the radio doesn’t cover the airband here and also it uses AM and the Baofeng is an FM radio. The only reason it’s not saving is that the frequencies you’re attempting to save just aren’t covered on the Baofeng.
What a great little shortcut!!! I will have to try this on my GT3TP and see if I get the same result. Many Thanks for sharing.

Great vids' Just a quick one, on my Repeater ifo' sheets it says Downlink and Uplink! Which is which, is Uplink Receive(RC) or Transmit(TX)? 73.

How do you find out frequency for your area
You can use RepeaterBook website or app, free on AppStore/Google Play. It will show repeaters around your area.
first video is better only my own opinion . for the beginners
