On my 2019, and 2017 Peterbilt 579, there are no gauges to check the battery voltage. BUT...there is a round push button switch to the right of the steering column. Rotate the outer ring of that switch. Your displayed information above your physical gauges will cycle different information. Just keep rotating that switch, and you WILL see the battery voltage information appear.
“Low Voltage Disconnect” doesn’t mean your batteries are bad. It’s an option that disconnects anything that is draining power from your batteries that would prevent the truck from starting. You can get the “Low Voltage Disconnect” message on perfectly good, new batteries. It just means you need to turn on your engine and idle until you come back up to about 14 volts. Resting voltage on Peterbilt batteries are good at 12.6. You should change the batteries if they’re a year old and you can’t get them to charge to around 13 or 14 volts with the engine running.
Cool video, now do one video of installing batteries where there is a bms 100 system and a battery gaurd intellitec solenoid involved. I had peterbilt technicians replace my batteries and my truck started 3 times, but after a night of idling , I turned it off for one hr, and so When I went to turn the truck on it, it wouldn't start. Had to tow this 2018 Pete 579 to a shop. This sucks.
i havent drove my truck for day & a half at a truck stop i turned the engine on for 20 minutes to charge battery and then 2 to 3 hours later i got the low voltage disconnect but. i didnt have any lights on or anything charging though... confused new driver by the way
