    Hey John, Love your channel. But think about what you say about putting two trays side-by-side on one side. Two 10-20 tray make a square 20-20 so putting them lengthwise does not waste space, just makes it easier to take the trays out one by one.

    Hey how you doing I like your TH-cam videos and this is going to sound stupid I've been getting into microgreens and I'm thinking about making it as a business would you consider the microgreens is a big Market in the United States or not a lot of people are doing it or you have a lot of competition?

    • @cardosprout182
      @cardosprout182 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dan. I would not call it big, but growing. Competition is getting more intense but the market is mostly for whole trays that the chefs use mostly as a garnish, sadly. I sell to individuals at farmer's markets rather than restaurants and my system is very self-sustaining. No plastic trays to replace, my own composted growing medium instead of purchased sterilized medium with few nutrients. I suggest starting small and growing slowly and naturally with a dedicated customer base because yours are the best in the area!

    17:00 What type of top tray did he use over the cafe tray? That one actually touches the plants so it must be NSF certified too. I noticed LED Shop lights for half the lights for plants at COSTCO. Want to use them if they work fine.

    • @cardosprout182
      @cardosprout182 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Julie, the top trays are the same as the bottom trays. The growing tray, the middle one, is 2" smaller than top and bottom trays, allowing for bottom watering...not spraying from the top which can be a problem. So 3 trays per set. And you are right, the greens will actually push the top tray up an inch before I uncover them depending on the micro. LEDs have been a boon for me because of reduced heat. There are many different types and configurations. Each micro responds differently so experiment!

However, there is a simple way to kill even a corona virus with 12,000 gauss magnets. I've used biomagnetism for 3 years with great success. No doctors for me in 25 years. With the broccoli grown without soil, just on paper, why not eat the roots, too?

    • @cardosprout182
      @cardosprout182 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question Eckankar. Eating the roots is definitely an option. I offer it both ways, on the paper, still growing, or with the roots cut off, washed and spun dry. If you've grown broccoli you know that the roots become very entangled and difficult to separate which makes the presentation look a little messy but it's definitely an option. They can easily be pulled off the paper and you get more nutrients and more yield that way. I sell a 9 inch by 10 inch box still growing on the paper at the markets that will keep for 3 weeks or more in the refrigerator. I also use the cut version as the base for a ready to eat salad mix of garlic, pea and radish micros plus a seven sprout mix! Eleven super veggies in one salad! (My son's name is Rebazar by the way for you Eckists!)
