As an art therapist, we discourage edible paints. For children with behavioural issues or any child in therapy, it’s not a good idea to confuse the boundaries between food and play. If a child is eating non edible things then deal with that. Don’t give them the option of making it something they *can* eat!!! There is also research that indicates that children who are encouraged to play with their food can actually go on and develop issues with food that they didn’t have before. This is why a strict separation of food and play is encouraged by therapists. Children with food issues can use art to learn about food, draw food, investigate food, cook food but not play with it!
@@atarahbowman7233 that’s awesome. It’s a great career path and so rewarding. I did some clinical time in the childrens hospital as a play specialist. It’s difficult because it hits your heart but wow… it’s so much fun! Being paid to play with Lego, paint and glue! Yay
If my son was still little (he is 18 and at university) I would totally start collecting deodorant containers! This is so great if your kids has fine motor skill issues. I used to make my babies dried pudding powder mixed with formula or breast milk and a drop of food coloring, they were 6 months when I started taping paper to the high chair tray and letting them finger paint, knowing they could just lick it off their hands and it was safe. My oldest just graduated from college as an art major and graphic design, does floral designs and is so crazy talented-I love that I have paintings she did as a baby! And yes, they saved perfectly fine and did not mold or go funky-I just let them dry completely - but it’s a fun, safe and more more clean way (really is easy just bathe them or use baby wipes!) to get young kids/babies painting!

for the deodorant paint roll thing, its actually pretty much inpired on a tt account that makes graffiti rolls with deodorant bottles only that instead of just usinng the balls that already comes with it, they replace it with a piece of sponge, that works better and they also use a mix of water and acrilic for the ink
I can say this would probably work for the hair"hack" if your hair is white. I accidentally got green acrylic paint in my hair once and green temper paint in my hair also another time. No idea how it was green both times, but both times my hair took that color since it is white. Getting it redone this weekend because of it actually :|
I miss Ray's painting vdos .. like when they used to be just some topic and she would paint the whole time .. But I get it that she likes making these vdos .. Any way Happy New Year in Advance Ray ❤️🤧
for the nostrol painting or making circle with nose i would say whyto even use it even though it works still at what cost, ruining your nose just to make some circles, practically speaking i am making art painting sketches and all for a long time and from my experience of all those years i can assure you that there would certainly never gonna be a need to use your nose for maing some circles unless someone is doing some challenge of painting with nose or something, and the thing is even if you need to make circles then also one can easily use a finger to do the exact same thing whivh is far easier to do than dipping your nose into the paint so yea its kinda useless actually no its totally useless, i appreciate your work tho you have tried that it must be difficult and as a fellow artist i know your struggle doing those art hacks. A salute to you!
I have a feeling there's a better way to go about the deodorant roller paint thingy. That would be AMAZING for kids, and anyone with grip strength issues or issues with fine motor skills. If you could easily get the ball out, it'd be a great way to make wide-body paint...pens, basically. And it could also be good for portable painting, as no/little leakage. I've got to investigate this further...
Edible paint is definitely a great idea if you're using it for sensory exploration and painting with babies and toddlers, but imo grinding up actual cereal is such a waste. You could achieve the same purpose by using either 1) cornflour/cornstarch + water + food colouring or 2) greek yogurt with pureed fruits for colour or food colouring.

I think an alternative to edible paint could be to bake up some sugar cookies and make some powdered sugar glaze in different colors. The kids (and teens and adults too) can then decorate the cookies, using those clean, cheap plastic paint brushes no one likes to paint with.
I love when you upload videos. It cures my boredom. Happy New Year!!
I wish she could do more reviews on art supplies from different countries
I love art hack videos! Thank you for making this and happy new year

The cheerio drop was sadisfying tho
All the cheerio paint made me think "wow perfect for a children's hospital! Such color theory!" Tumblr has broken my brain

Rae I know it's not rlly shown but your hair looks absolutely amazing and I love the makeup that matches it
I love how she watched the video when you dip your nose in the paint and she was like NOPE but then after she try’s it she gives it a 9 out of 10✨✌️😋
I used to make my babies dried pudding powder mixed with formula or breast milk and a drop of food coloring, they were 6 months when I started taping paper to the high chair tray and letting them finger paint, knowing they could just lick it off their hands and it was safe.
Thank you for showing us all of these hacks to see if they actually work. ✔️
I love this type of vids ( dropped everything to watch this ) ☕😃✨

Honestly I haven't watched you in awhile, and this is the first video that came up again. At first I was gonna scroll by, but looking at the thumbnail I realized those low numbers aren't worth the sacrifice lol. Time to rewatch this.
for the deodorant paint roll thing, its actually pretty much inpired on a tt account that makes graffiti rolls with deodorant bottles only that instead of just usinng the balls that already comes with it, they replace it with a piece of sponge, that works better and they also use a mix of water and acrilic for the ink
Her hair looks so good
It literally makes my day when you upload! Thanks for being an amazing person Rae (;

I can say this would probably work for the hair"hack" if your hair is white. I accidentally got green acrylic paint in my hair once and green temper paint in my hair also another time. No idea how it was green both times, but both times my hair took that color since it is white. Getting it redone this weekend because of it actually :|
My toddler has white hair and the same thing happened to her 😩 I’ve tried everything, it won’t wash out!!
I just wated to make a comment appreciating Rae's make up.
It's absolutely amazing.
I miss Ray's painting vdos .. like when they used to be just some topic and she would paint the whole time .. But I get it that she likes making these vdos ..
Any way Happy New Year in Advance Ray ❤️🤧
Rae playing with the fidget was really satisfying, cute and funny💜
6:30 from what I know, this has been a hack in the graffiti community for a while now lol
for the nostrol painting or making circle with nose i would say whyto even use it even though it works still at what cost, ruining your nose just to make some circles, practically speaking i am making art painting sketches and all for a long time and from my experience of all those years i can assure you that there would certainly never gonna be a need to use your nose for maing some circles unless someone is doing some challenge of painting with nose or something, and the thing is even if you need to make circles then also one can easily use a finger to do the exact same thing whivh is far easier to do than dipping your nose into the paint so yea its kinda useless actually no its totally useless, i appreciate your work tho you have tried that it must be difficult and as a fellow artist i know your struggle doing those art hacks. A salute to you!
I love this video so much! You really took risks doing this for real Rae!!

*rip Rae’s clean and paintless pop thing*
12:00 she would've probably gotten more pigment by painting with tomato sauce ngl.
I STARTED CHOKING HELP!? 12:57
